I remember a few years ago now, at work I walked up to two work mates and for some reason one of them turned and said, "Have you EVER heard Brendan swear?" The other shook his head and said, "Nah I haven't." Only one of them at the time knew I was a Christian because when I first started he showed me a pornographic picture on his phone and I told him how God had helped me with that addiction but it was still a weakness. I was able to tell them why I didn't swear.

Another instance a couple years back I was chosen to go on a work trip with managers and general managers, after a days work we would all go to a bar in our hotel, it was expenses paid so they surely took advantage of that. The first night we all sat down and asked if I wanted a beer or a bourbon and I said, "no, thanks I don't drink." They all asked why, and I told them.
I find I don't have to go out of my way much to witness the gospel to people, especially those immediate around me. I pray that I'm bolder as I have a great sense of fear and rejection but God strengthens and usually gives the right words. I've even had a Muslim at work ask me to pray for them..amazing! None of this is to boast, for I am the least capable, slow of speech and of tongue..very much so. I have no strength of my own to rely on regarding evangelism. But opportunities are certainly there, we just need to take them as they arise. We may not see salvations on the spot, but seeds are certainly planted as we speak and they see our conduct.
amen!

i don't want to appear to be boasting but that reminds me of something that happened about a month ago -- i am very good and very skilled at one of the jobs i do, and a co-worker was asking for advice about how to be more efficient, and i told her that you may think i'm just being silly, but i am actually very serious, that each morning i pray to do well, and ask God to guide my hands and my mind, so i can represent Him as an outstanding worker, and that i really believe that at least in part the reason that i am so much better at this job than most other people, is that God hears these prayers and blesses me. i could see a kind of shock on her face, but she didn't argue about it.
another time people were complaining, and remarked that i seem to never complain, and another Christian sister i work with and i both explained that we don't think of it as working for ourselves or for our boss, but we work for God, and this is why we don't grumble about anything.

so yes, just living your daily lives quietly, trying to do whatever it is you do in a way that is for God, rather than for men, becomes a witness to others -- and God will use this to give you an opportunity to testify about Him and glorify Him.

that's awesome breno, cool to hear. :)
i bet most of us have similar stories -- and that these are in many cases much more effective than standing on a corner preaching at pedestrians, or stuffing mailboxes with tracts.

most people in the western world have heard something about Jesus, but what they may not know, and what they may have never seen or heard about, is Jesus working in people's lives and living through them quietly giving them peace and blessings. this shows people the reality of Christ in us in a way that a billboard, meme or soapbox-speech simply cannot do.

She is an evangelist.

Those people are a trumpet. They have a fire.

She is just trying to put a fire under our complacent hind ends.
Evangelists are called to take the message to the lost. Prophets are called to take the message to GOD's people.

Now before you make excuses for not traveling to the missionary field, let me impugn your work of witnessing and my work and all the churches in America! If you have reached everyone in just your town, with a clear presentation of the Gospel...WHY HAVEN'T YOU WITNESSED THE GREATEST REVIVAL IN YOUR TOWN??? If you have truly spread the Gospel just to your town ALONE, there should have been souls saved. There should be a paradigm shift in your community. God said His Word would NOT return void. He said if He be lifted up He will draw ALL MEN unto Himself. If one tenth of the people attending churches in this country were genuine Christians spreading the genuine Gospel to everyone in their city ALONE, we should see a major revival. At the very least we should begin being persecuted by those who reject the Gospel and fear that if they do not stop us a revival will spread and their sins will be abated.
Let's stop a moment and make clear what I mean by a "clear presentation of the Gospel". Christians seem to think that a passing comment about our Lord is enough to share the Gospel. IT IS NOT. Accepting a prayer request is not. Giving credit to God for anything IS NOT. Handing out a contemporary "Christian" music CD or a video of "The Passion" IS NOT a clear presentation of the Gospel of the Christ!!! In order to present the Gospel clearly, you must first explain sin and the need for a Saviour. Only then can you explain why it was that our Lord died on the cross. Only then can you explain what salvation is and how it can be accepted. If you have not mentioned sin and judgment, you have not declared the fullness of the Gospel unto salvation. A clear presentation of the Gospel provides the basic information necessary for the person's heart to be convicted by the Holy Spirit through their conscience. Paul said, "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference, for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: " Rom 3:20-24.
There Paul shares the Gospel and explains why a clear presentation of the Gospel is necessary. Through the explanation of the law comes the conviction that we are sinners and CANNOT earn our own salvation. It must be bought. Then, the sacrifice of Jesus makes full sense to the sinner. This is a clear presentation of the Gospel of the Christ. I do not wish to get long winded on how to witness or techniques. I am trying to remind you of your calling and get you back in the war. There are plenty of lessons and sites dedicated to witnessing. Please, visit www.wayofthemaster.com for more lessons on witnessing.
Decide in your heart right now whether you are a true child of God. Jesus said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments" John 14:15. This is the same God who said, "Go ye into all the world and preach (proclaim, cry out, publish, spread, tell) the Gospel to every creature."
I love your zeal.

I usually start with the fall of Adam, and the need for a second Adam.

BUT

That is not MANDATORY. The HS may direct me differently.

Not knocking your deal, but I know Ray Comfort overworks that "sinner" dimension.

I would agree.

However,evangelists train evangelists.

Maybe.....or maybe God is in control of that. If you think about it....God really didn't get a good deal on any of us.

So keep hiding your light! True ministry isnt inside a steeple but it is out in the world. Jesus compelled you. Im just the messenger. Get mad at God not me:p
I'm not really mad. I honestly very rarely get angry anymore. I still have my frustrations and whatnot. My mindset is something like this. Hey bro...do you know who Jesus is and what He represents for us? Where I go from there largely hinges on what their answer is. People are in different states....emotionally and whatnot. It's honestly pretty easy to tell in short order if going deeper is waste of time or will bear some fruit. Maybe it's just me but I won't ever lead with....hey bro, do you know that if you don't accept Jesus you're going to go to hell? If that is what you wanna do, I won't criticize you anymore but please don't make baseless assumptions about me any further. I'd rather taylor my delivery to the person on the inside that I think is standing in front of me.

HRFTD,
You and I will probably always see things a bit differently. But, may I say, Sir, that my respect for you has quickly grown by leaps and bounds in this one single thread, alone.

When an evangelist preaches to a group, there are usually only a handful of fertile souls that respond.

Sometimes a ton of people respond. This is a gold mine to the evangelist.

The body is diverse. Many flavors. I see it as good, even though it may not be my particular cup of tea.

I used to loath contemporary Christian music. Then, raising 5 Teenagers I realized they needed a different realm in their young walks.

Now I like most of it.

Jesus the True Vine
…4Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me. 5I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not remain in Me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers. Such branches are gathered up, thrown into the fire, and burned.…

If you are remaining in the vine you would do as Jesus as entrusted you to do!

The folly of a short sighted fool...................

The fruit of the righteous is the tree of life. And he that winneth souls is wise.

Thank you. But just think it, don't say it out loud. She has already beat up on you guys enough, and I don't want to see more. No reason to enflame and enrage her any more.

Thats why you abide in the vine and when you abide in the vine you have the mind of Christ. When you have the mind of Christ you are set on spreading his gospel. The first 12 he chose werent anything without Christ either. But he used them and they were more than any of us can hope to be with their ministry.

I havent beat up on anyone. I am not enraged! lol I merely put forth what God wants of us and people dont like to hear it. You are bearing false witness against me.
I suppose you are upset that I didnt open your private email to me? With the way you talk to me on the forums I can only imagine what you would say in private. Your full of pride. I follow Jesus Christ and men. Try it sometime:)

I wrote you privately because I did not want to embarrass you, since you seem to want to portray the "Hard Donkey" in front of others. But you chose to have me post the PM , in full, so everyone could see. If this is your wish, everything I want to say to you in the future will be right out in the open. That isn't the slightest problem for me.

I always get a kick out of Christians who use this phrase. It does a couple of things for me. The first one it does is it gives me a little insight into a persons "fighting" style. The reason is because it has a hidden manipulative meaning that is beneath the surface. See if you can figure it out.

The second thing it does for me is it makes me think of Jesus and how He never defended Himself.

Yes, that was her very first reaction when I called her on belittling those employees in the Max Store..... Defensiveness. Instead of realizing the chance she had to talk about Jesus and His relation to the restroom issue, she chose to try to entrap the guys, and put them on the spot by blaming them about something they had nothing to do with. And she automatically started defending that attacking behavior.

I think most people here would have realized that they had missed a golden opportunity for witnessing there, and probably been a little remorseful about it. But not this one. Not a bit. She was even proud of her antics.

As it is, it may be just as well she never mentioned Christianity at all. Those guys were already left with enough of a sour taste in their mouths for what they likely perceived to be just another Feminist. Thank God she didn't help foster even more animosity toward Christians... at least not THAT time.

Right, you got a point there, and I was thinking about how people have to be reached by different methods, and that Jesus loves you, does not cut it with a lot of people, which the Bible says save some with compassion, and save some with fear.

A lot of people are not responding with Jesus loves you,and a lot of it has to do with the hypocrisy with the Christians, and their worldly lifestyle, that is driving people away, and being unresponsive,to what they have to say.

So Jesus loves you still works, but not as effectively as it once did,and it would appear that in these times, when the Bible says there will be more hypocrites, than any other time, our best weapon would be to conduct ourselves in the lifestyle of a Christian,to have the fullest impact that we can.

2Co 6:1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
2Co 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
2Co 6:3 Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:
2Co 6:4 But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,
2Co 6:5 In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;
2Co 6:6 By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,
2Co 6:7 By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,
2Co 6:8 By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;
2Co 6:9 As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;
2Co 6:10 As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

God said give no offense in anything, that the ministry be not blamed, which the ministry is being blamed, because a lot of people that claim Christ, want to live worldly, and fight with each other over the Bible, and the world says they do not want to act like Christ, and they cannot even agree with each other, and they are going to tell us what's up.

But that does not take away from ministering, for we still have to do that, but our lifestyle is what needs to be observed,to act like Christ,to have the biggest impact on the world.

In today's world, and the end time,in which the majority of the world has heard,Jesus loves you, would it be better for the saints to witness, being hypocrites,or to not witness, and live like Christ.

In today's world, and the end time,in which the majority of the world has heard,Jesus loves you, would it be better for the saints to witness, being hypocrites,or to not witness, and live like Christ.
Really not much of a choice you given here. How about we carry our cross and make Christ the Lord of our lives? How about we walk out what we talk?

Too many will tell yu that they LOVE Jesus but then they wont do as he has asked us all.

Which btw, you are welcome to come examine my lifestyle. You can hang with me for as long as you like but I will be dragging you into town to serve the Lord and it wont be on a comfy pew either:)
I am not a hypocrite. I have a heart for the lost. I really dont know how someone who professes Christ could not! How could we say we have the mind of Christ and not do as he did? Are these scoffers really saved? I digress..............

What we have is apathetic "christians" whose hearts have waxed cold and they just dont really care who goes to hell. Of course, when one says it like that they are being a hater and they are enraged. The truth severes the deepest parts of the soul.

The time is NOW. Get off yur backsides and go do something for your KING.
