It has been my experience that most of those who go door to door, stand on the street corner, or confront people in public teach heresy.

Well, I would say they are probably pushing far more people away from Jesus than they are ever reaching, but I think "heresy" might be a little overboard. What makes you feel this way?

Not hard to do. You, and many others on here say the same thing all the time. I suppose I'm just a little more dramatic in my choice of words.
We all have different functions and ways of saying the truth in this case. One is not any better then another.

The Lord set up different people in different parts of His body in order to develop us..,..one part says things in a way that influences an other part and no one else can do function in that but you...It's all good Willie..I love the way you "say things about truth"....keep it up!

the simple Truth is, if we really Love Him, we will lay down our lives, we will give-up everything
if He asks us to, we will leave and forsake whatever it takes to abide in Him, for this is where
our hearts begin their new journey, only desiring to become His willing, self-sacrificing, servants...

if we cherish Him, we listen and obey where the Holy Spirit leads. just imagine, our betrothal, the wedding!

Sometimes the zeal for our own assignment from the Lord gets the better of us and we think everyone else should be doing the same thing.

The evangelists thinks "What are we doing having teaching sessions when there are people lost"...the teacher says " We need to grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ to do His work in and through us.."...the pastor says "We need to love on these hurt ones in our flock and protect them"

Heresy is teaching that does not agree with the Scripture.

I said in my EXPERENCE. Your experence in your city may be very different than here in rural Arkansas.
The last person I met who was on the parking lot of Wal Mart was preaching that I was going to Hell because I did not have the "gift of tongues".

I had an experience like that - at a Walmart. I went up to a guy, who was holding a bible and staring up at heaven whistling like a bird, to bless him and he started yelling at me. When he was done I meekly said that I just wanted to bless you. He kind muttered with a muted voice something like - oh yeah well bless you.

we have witnessed many who have felt great zeal for God, especially when their hearts are on fire
after conversion - when their steps are walking in many directions as well as their emotions -
such tender times, never to be forgotten, but as we grow we begin to learn how to walk in our
new shoes, one step-at-a-time...we must always remember to walk as He walked, in Love and kindness,
and to be patient, forgiving, understanding, with all of our brothers and sisters as well as those
who have yet to be called...

giving direction or correction should only be done with Christ's Love in our hearts, no matter how
many buttons are pushed or how trying the situation, never lashing-out/back with railing accusations,
or self-defense, for not once did Christ defend Himself to the world, for the Father's approval was
His great desire...

Jesus said to make disciples not converts.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
(Mat 28:19)

Who's 'Chesley Floyd'?
as mentioned in the OP.
I was under the impression that you have to get them converted first then disciple them. Silly me!

No, Yet.... You just have some strange ideas. As far as I know, you do not go into stores with the intention of seeking out innocent people to belittle them, and then brag about doing it.
Pleeeeeeeeeeease Willie, what are my STRANGE ideas?

The problem is, I think, the current paradigm which simply wants to convert. Convert 'em and send 'em out the door to convert some more. We gotta get those coffers filled. Know what I mean, Vern?

Yes brother, that may be the case sometimes. But we are called to share the gospel, we are fishers of men. Jesus said leave all behind, let the dead bury their dead, you follow me. Going door to door may not be so safe these days but there are other ways to share the gospel. In our every day lives there are always opportunities to share the gospel.

Have you seen the greatest revival in your town?
I'm not trying to be rude but revival has almost always started with one person. One person was bold enough to believe the Bible and that God would move. And these revivals have changed the world. If there ever was a time in history we needed a revival it is now. Its not something to make light of.

or now that you have their address, keep spamming them with tracts? ;)
this time maybe some about going to hell if they don't accept?

((by the way no. no. i am not suggesting that is a good strategy or even could be supported with scripture.))
Nope not a threatening type person at all I'd rather share the good stuff....

So my next plan of action for them would be....since I have their address of course..... is to possibly send them a Christmas Card thanking them again for their purchase and a pamphlet on Jesus Second Coming..... The hope that ends this mess of sin...

I don't tell them they will go to hell because most of them already know if they don't follow God the end is not anything to look forward to.... Holy Spirit can do the convicting I am just giving them reading material and the ability to make a choice... After all it is their choice to make..

my oldest nephew shared a story with us last night at small groups.

on his college campus, a man was handing out those little bibles out to the students. my nephew got one, and as he was walking along, he was walking behind 2 other students. one had a bible and the other didn't. student said, "hey man. do you want [this bible?] i don't read this trash." the other student didn't want it, so it got thrown in the trash. my nephew admitted he got angry inside, so he called them out, "hey!!!"

both students turned around. the "thrower" said, "hey. aren't you [my nephew's name]?"

"... yes. but how do you know me?"

"man. everybody in this building knows who you are! you have the highest grades. the professors love you! tell me, man. how can i be more like you?"

that's when my nephew picked up the bible from the trash can. he shared a bible verse with them. he also said, "i do what my grandmother told me. 'pray and study.'"

as a result, the guy decided to keep the bible and start reading it.

there are divine appointments. Holy Spirit leads.

in some areas, maybe sharing tracts is more effective. and sometimes, what people call "friendship evangelism" is more effective.
The point is : spread the gospel. Your nephew is honoring Christ and he is doing a fine job! College campuses are not easy! Which btw God makes those divine appt for those who are willing. He doesnt bother with the disobedient, rebellious ,cowards that call themselves "christians" .

Im not sure how you would define friendship evangelism. Would you explain your meaning to me?

Well maybe you could put a change to that. Go out and teach biblically. The gospel is not difficult.

"Most religious people these days are planting the wrong kind of seeds. Instead of planting the Seed of the Gospel, they are planting seeds of hatred, gossip, and wickedness. While some Christians are keeping busy soul-winning, contending for the faith, and serving God; other backslidden and carnally-minded believers are working against the cause of Christ by spewing hatred, gossip, and sowing discord amongst brethren. God will judge each and every believer individually at the Judgment Seat of Christ (2nd Corinthians 5:10-11; James 4:12, 5:9). "
