We bought some blackberries at Cosco this afternoon. Scored some strawberries too. She makes me milkshakes with fruit. No cherry on top but there will be whipped cream.

There was a lady in the store ahead of me the other day. She didn't have enough money for her groceries so I paid for them. She asked me why I did that. I told her because I love Jesus. There were about 5 others that heard me. Nobody said a word. That is planting seed.
That's who Christ is in a nutshell! Thank you Sirk for sharing the love of Christ with someone who may not know or understand the love of the one who gave her life. This simple gesture even though not many can afford to do this shows who God is and the love he has for them. I'm so thankful there are men out there that do this for other people. I remember my pastor a couple years back seeing me at the gas station and paid for my gas because he wanted to. That was a blessing.

Sirk, you planted seeds not only with this woman but with the checker and those in line and I pray that God blesses you a hundred fold. It doesn't matter what certain people think of what you did, but God knew what was in your heart as you did this...God bless you

Ooh that sounds good♥ I can only have milkshakes when my blood sugar is low and my body always craves Peanut butter when it's low not sure why but it does so I put a bit of sugar free cherry ice cream some milk a couple scoops of peanut butter and any fruit I might enjoy and then I am like did I die? Because I am pretty sure im in heaven lol

LOL He didn't... But whatever makes you feel better... You don't know the context of that scripture. I don't know why any of us even bother with you.
Noone is asking you too. You fight against scripture. You like it. Dont blame it on me. You are a reveler.

Sirk was bragging about buying her groceries. God tells us to not look for alms from men but to do it in secret. He was talking to followers. It is YOU that doesnt study your bible:)

God may have blessed him if he didnt turn around and brag about it here. OOPS:eek:

"What we do, must be done from an inward principle, that we may be approved of God, not that we may be praised of men. In these verses we are cautioned against hypocrisy in giving alms. Take heed of it. It is a subtle sin; and vain-glory creeps into what we do, before we are aware. But the duty is not the less necessary and excellent for being abused by hypocrites to serve their pride. The doom Christ passes, at first may seem a promise, but it is their reward; not the reward God promises to those who do good, but the reward hypocrites promise themselves, and a poor reward it is; they did it to be seen of men, and they are seen of men. When we take least notice of our good deeds ourselves, God takes most notice of them. He will reward thee; not as a master who gives his servant what he earns, and no more, but as a Father who gives abundantly to his son that serves him."

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! You still have no clue what you are talking about. And as far as no one ( btw, its still two words) asking me, I don't recall anyone on here asking you directly either when you mowed them over. Great double standard you have there. *Wink.. I don't fight against scripture, I fight against those who use it to belittle others to make themselves feel holier.

Interesting comment. My husband and I have a friend, and he button holes people every time he walks down the street. He also has a very thick accent, so my thought is that people don't understand him, even if he was just asking for directions.

He has been doing this for the 34 years we have known him. And he does love to do it in front of other Christians as he has certainly done it in front of us, often enough.

The results? No one has ever gotten saved, or even asked for more information, to go for coffee to talk about it. Not in all that time. But he does look good to himself and other Christians. I know I was certainly fooled by his act for years. My husband still is!

Something about "being rewarded in secret?"

Regarding the heresy - this man, and I do love and care for him as a brother in Christ, has possibly the worst theology I have ever encountered. Forget about Jesus not being God, there are millions of others who could be Christ but are not God. (Or something?) He knows his Bible, he just doesn't understand it. He doesn't get how to interpret and understand. When he is in a church like United Pentecostals,he believes what they do. If it is Word Faith, then he is personally being used by God to heal people. (Except he goes to the doctor as quick as a wink, when he is sick.)

He seems to be in a balanced church right now.So he is pleasant to discuss the Bible. But should he leave...

Anyway, I have never heard of anyone getting saved by a random person just picking them out and witnessing to them. Although of course, God can use anyone in any place.

I just think we need to develop relationships and meet people where they are at. And also not be afraid to speak a word in season about God, when the Holy Spirit prompts. And not to worry about the resullts. That is for the Holy Spirit to take care of. We do need to be on mission with God, all the time. I agree with the OP.

Being on mission means following what the Holy Spirit is telling us to do and trusting him for the results.
We are some of those "Healing Nuts", (LOL) and many members of our denomination have been used to bring healing to strangers on the street, shoppers in malls and grocery stores, waitresses in restaurants, passengers on airplanes, etc. Maybe it might not have been anything but relieving a sore back or carpel tunnel... but it served as our intro to tell them that Jesus wants to heal their whole lives in the same way. I would estimate that about 10-15% of our congregations are people who began their walk toward Jesus through that kind of outreach.

It shocked me how many people are not only willing, but appreciative of being prayed for by a total stranger.... even if they don't get healed of anything.

I believe that prayer always has a healing effect.

I'm not arguing with you because I think you are waaayyy off target and I can throw references at you all day, but I don't have time for that. I was encouraging Sirk and so many others who help someone else in need without getting recognition. In fact I know Sirk and he's a good friend. He was using this as an example of what "the great commission" looks like. Out of all due respect, I would be more concerned in how you fulfill your place in this commission than other people's roles in it because the only person you can control is yourself. FYI this kind of attitude is why most people don't selflessly give their time and energy to people in need.

What I think she doesn't quite grasp is that I didn't do it to be blessed. Didn't ask for it...didn't think about it...... I just did it because I saw a person in need and I helped them.

The scripture is saying dont go trumpeting what you did. HELLO? Read it
Hummmmm..... Who do we know who started this whole mess by doing that very thing? What do you think first waved those big red flags about you when I first read your bragging?

In my opinion, I don't see what he said as bragging on here. He is online using the name Sirk. So really who could he be bragging to. I think he just used what he did as an example of another way to minister to someone. I know it has been said before on here, but there are many ways to minister to someone.

God is the father and he has a purpose for each of his children. He has a work for all of us. My work may be different from yours....But I do know, that no matter what he has for us to do he wants us all to do it his way in love and out of a pure heart.

Nope. Im right on target. And no,it is NOT the great commission of telling people about the who, what, where and why of Jesus atonement.

I just post the scriptures:)
People are not arguing with me but with the word of truth.

Dont shoot the messenger.

She is saying you are bragging or boasting because you told us on here. Though, I don't remember you saying how great and wonderful you are for doing it. That would be what the scripture is referring to.

Hence why she is taking it out of context.

Nope! We are arguing with you. And once again, no matter how many people say you are wrong, you are still off in your own world.... but I digress.

You showed that lady and all the others in the store that day the true love of God. That is the main thing...You let the others see Jesus' love working within you and was a living testimony to her.
