Nope. Im right on target. And no,it is NOT the great commission of telling people about the who, what, where and why of Jesus atonement.

I just post the scriptures:)
People are not arguing with me but with the word of truth.

Dont shoot the messenger.
nope, make no mistake, they are arguing with you. you mis-interpet the Words of truth.

I could say some things that wouldn't be very Christ like so I will walk away, but before I go I will pray that God softens your heart to truly understand who God is and what the word of God truly says and how to communicate with others in a loving and compassionate manner because what I see here I don't see the love of Christ....I'm sorry to say this, but it's true

She is saying you are bragging or boasting because you told us on here. Though, I don't remember you saying how great and wonderful you are for doing it. That would be what the scripture is referring to.

Hence why she is taking it out of context.
Ya I understand that she thinks I am bragging here. She also had this weird sort of tell in her post that she does things for others so she can be blessed. I was just simply pointing out that my motivation is not to bring blessings onto myself and that I don't even think about that sort of thing when I am given opportunity to help another human being. And really....who is she to decide for God who He chooses to bless anyway?

If you were in the right then can you explain why you continue to respond to others in such a prideful and hateful manner?
You can post scriptures for everything you say but it doesn't make you right, you cherry picked scripture and used to throw at others that is now what the word of God is for it is not a toy it is holy and is the very heart of God himself so I would be careful as to how one uses it

“Witnessing...That's not my calling...”
" As a minister I am constantly battling this ignorant statement of lazy or uneasy Christians. For several generations now, many church leaders and teachers while impressing the need for regular church attendance have failed to explain why we attend church. Churches, you see, are NOT hospitals for the sick and dying. They are not fellowship areas for social functions. They are NOT recreation halls, entertainment facilities. In other words, churches are to be military forward base camps NOT vacation campgrounds! A fitting analogy presented by Brother Chesley Floyd in a revival was that of the comparison of a cruise ship to a battleship. The church is a BATTLESHIP not a cruise ship. It was not designed or established for any other purpose than offensive movement against the adversary's strongholds. It was established by God to spread the Gospel.

Many Christians now labor...correction fail to labor in the fields of the harvest because they are too busy living it up in the comfort of a luxury local cruise ship...I mean church. Instead of their church being a sanctuary for battle hardened soldiers, a training camp for new recruits and a soul saving station, it is a social club. That may sound harsh but if your church (YOU)is not reaching out to the lost and the needy, you are nothing but a social club! Any organization that is not spreading the gospel is a social or civil organization by definition. Any organization that spreads the Gospel of the Christ is, by definition, part of the Church. Which do you attend?"

"That's Not My Calling":The Great Commission, A Christian Call to Arms
Huh! That's really, really powerful. Thank you for pointing that out. It's true.

We are some of those "Healing Nuts", (LOL) and many members of our denomination have been used to bring healing to strangers on the street, shoppers in malls and grocery stores, waitresses in restaurants, passengers on airplanes, etc. Maybe it might not have been anything but relieving a sore back or carpel tunnel... but it served as our intro to tell them that Jesus wants to heal their whole lives in the same way. I would estimate that about 10-15% of our congregations are people who began their walk toward Jesus through that kind of outreach.

It shocked me how many people are not only willing, but appreciative of being prayed for by a total stranger.... even if they don't get healed of anything.

Sorry! You obviously totally misunderstood me. My friend did not pray for people to be healed. He went up and told them they needed Jesus - often being silly and/or pretentious. And as far as praying for healing, he continually told me I was sinning/not confessing my sin/confessing I was sick/confessing the wrong thing, in the wrong way, etc etc. Apparently my words have power to heal, but when I wasn't healed (believe me, I prayed long and hard the first many years I got this disease - I still do!) he told me that I was not confessing healing. Ok, if he believed that. But the minute he got sick with a serious condition he was in the ER and on to the operating table. Another thing I didn't begrudge him, although it certainly wasn't consistent with how he was putting me down. Fortunately, I am not one to tell someone they should live by their own words. And if God didn't heal his enlared prostate, then he just needed to pray harder, and confess he was healed. Of course, I would not say it, because that is no where to be found in the Bible. At least not in that "commanding God to heal you" type of way. As opposed to supplicating God for healing and restoration.

But the main thrust of my last post, was that he did not know how to correctly divide the Word of God. So whatever he was hearing on radio sermons and/or in church, that is what he believed that day - even if it contradicted totally whatever he believed the last week. I did have some long talks with him, but he never understood what I was saying. You don't change your theology every time you hear the Bible preached differently. Ok, maybe now and again, but not every few weeks/months.

And the good thing is that he did finally get into a more compassionate and theologically sound church. I couldn't bear to have him go at me. Its hard enough to be suffering in agony, and then to have someone preaching what was twisting the Bible over and over. So I never disliked him, but I did stop talking to him and seeing him - and I still prayed for him to put down some theological roots.

It's funny the way people misread things according to their favourite pet "cause de jour." I think it is great to pray with non-
Christians. It is another way to lead them to the truth!

No, I didn't think you said that at all. I was just stating that our methods are not the "walk up and tell them they are hell-bound sinners."

If the "sigh" is your way of expressing disapproval about my post, wouldn't it be better just to say it?

I am just worried that Suzanna is going to get her self banned because of how she treats and speaks to others, I would rather her heart be softened and shown who God really he and what it really means to be Christian by the light others shine than for her to have to be banned with a stone heart and a fiery grudge to bear

uh...that is exactly what I would do...I'm not a sniper...which I would think you might know by now?

anyway..must be something in this thread...like I said, this is a nasty thread...I honestly was looking for something to post in last night, and the entire BDF seems to be a flame war right now

the sigh is with regards to the ongoing 'I'm a better Christian than you are' and no reference to you

my apologies ember. That's why I asked. Maybe I'm as guilty as anyone in this thread in my pushing back against a critical spirit.
