uh...that is exactly what I would do...I'm not a sniper...which I would think you might know by now?

anyway..must be something in this thread...like I said, this is a nasty thread...I honestly was looking for something to post in last night, and the entire BDF seems to be a flame war right now

the sigh is with regards to the ongoing 'I'm a better Christian than you are' and no reference to you
I want the bible discussion forum to be inflamed just not the kind of flame it normally has, both God and satan are very active in this place.

I am just worried that Suzanna is going to get her self banned because of how she treats and speaks to others, I would rather her heart be softened and shown who God really he and what it really means to be Christian by the light others shine than for her to have to be banned with a stone heart and a fiery grudge to bear
the BDF threads as of late, make me long for the days of Jason....at least he was polite even if steeped in a works doctrine

if things don't change her, I dunno....only the people who enjoy fighting and snarking will be left

my apologies ember. That's why I asked. Maybe I'm as guilty as anyone in this thread in my pushing back against a critical spirit.
no worries....I trust you would see my response and at least you asked

I think the Holy Spirit is very grieved over this entire mess...and it's not the only mess

I already stated I wanted to join into something last night, and I was honestly kind of repulsed ... the Holy Spirit is not our accuser....I HATE that God told me to tell you stuff...it can ruin lives

I'm no better than anyone else...but I mean, when on earth is going to stop? folks keep saying it should stop then someone will come along...often enough a new person...and then the HOLY WARS gear up again

I honestly feel kind of sick about it in the pit of my stomach....cause this place pretty much represents church in general and explains why things are so bad

sorry...end of rant

When people come to the bible discussion forum I wonder if they ask themselves why they do. Is it because it's the most popular forum here? Is it because they love to argue and get the high from heated debates? is it because the genuinely want to discuss the bible? There are many reasons people come here and even some are more deeply hidden under the guise of genuinely wanting to discuss the bible or wanting to teach and speak the truth when really they are here for a darker purpose.

Me personally I have several reasons for being here, firstly it is the most popular forum I will admit to that lol but more than that I come here to learn even if it's from heavy fire, I come here to seek search and find the heart of God to grow closer to him to grow and mature as both a Christian and a person. I do debate some but if I see there is nothing to be gained from it then I leave, I think many are here to prove themselves right I am not, I think many come here to stir the water to fan the fire not in a good way either I come here with the intent to still the waters to calm the raging fire and mostly to no avail as many simply don't listen they just want to argue lol

I understand what you are feeling, there was a time when the word Christian left a sour taste in my mouth and this is because in the bdf I saw what the general Christian is and it certainly isn't what we were taught to be. if you met most of these ppl face to face it's very likely you would not recognize them not because you don't know what they look like but because the way they would speak act and teach would be completely different. The interesting thing about an online forum is people tend to speak what is really in their hearts what they would not say to people face to face because there is security of being behind a computer screen.

At the same time though me being the glass is half full kind of person it is also kind of a blessing because we can see who ppl truly are we can read their hearts and sometimes even know them far better than if we knew them face to face. who you all see me as when I type the words I say the way I speak this is who I truly am because like everyone I am behind a computer screen but even so if you met me face to face you might notice I am more child like and more energetic than I appear here but that fire and that passion and the words I speak on here would still be the same

I'm not pushing my own posts but I made two threads the past couple weeks. One was about being a fan or a follower of Christ, the other on missions. What to guess how many pages they have? Not 20, not even 10. That tells me something. Everyone here is throwing blame back and forth and all are guilty. The threads on transgenders have how many pages? I think that says it all.

in just wish that we could get past the works vs. grace thing. I believe that many of us are actually very similar in our theology, we go at over what we lead with.

as soon as some hear someone lead with grace, they jump to the " you are saying that behavior does not matter ' place, and then the bickering starts. I wish that could we could get past this.

Lots of people here are gracious in their communication. When they are called out on a post they are humble about and try to see it from another's point ov view. Some don't and it is they who create the bickering atmosphere.

The OP was about the great commission, go preach the gospel. There should be nothing in that to argue about. We are all called to be a witness. It got ugly fast and just about everyone has dirty hands in it. There is hardly a thread you can post here that doesn't end in an argument. Like I said, everyone has strong opinions, its just some are allowed to get away with it here and some are not.

We are saved by grace for good works, faith without works is dead. Another argument that isn't necessary here on CC. The Bible makes that very clear, they go hand in hand.

That maybe so but pigeonholing by stating unequivocally how everyone is supposed to carry that out has undertones of a David Koresh type of attitude and should be pushed back against.

Luke 10:2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

Looks like we should be praying that "He would send forth laborers into His field".

I believe He does that by the Holy Spirit. We are to be led by the Holy Spirit in all things in our life.

Acts 13:2-4 (NASB)

[SUP]2 [/SUP] While they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them."
[SUP]3 [/SUP] Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

[SUP]4 [/SUP] So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia and from there they sailed to Cyprus.

Are you able bodied?
Looks like people need to be sending themselves. The lost are everywhere. The harvest is ripe.

Awesome job on these boards Bruce! Only the Lord knows how many have come to know the True Gospel here because of how His Holy Spirit's fruit exhibited through you by your patience and love. Thank you

Thank you Ed..for the kind remarks and for the encouragement...:)

You have just fulfilled this verse IMO

Hebrews 10:24 (KJV)
[SUP]24 [/SUP] And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works.

Anyone can get their point across, it's how it's done that's the problem. Some Christians do not know how to treat the thoughts and opinions of others with respect. Humility is a quality sadly lacking in here - especially on this topic.

Jesus told his disciples to love one another "as I have loved you". The apostle Paul wrote in a similar way and showed the early Christians how to behave in his letters to the early church. Yet here we are with some of us behaving "holier than thou". No one gets is absolutely right, we are all learning - no matter how long we have been saved. Why can't we just learn from each other with humility and respect? Is it really SO MUCH to ask?

Jesus also rebuked Peter didnt he?
Love isnt always saying what others want to hear but it is saying what our responsibilities as children of God > are!

We have far too much ear tickling going on in the church these days. The time is now and the people to do it are the CHURCH.

How shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? Romans 10:14

Someone needs to tell them about Jesus. Someone loved you enough to tell you about Jesus. Will you love others enough to tell them about Jesus?

Btw: Humility is a quality that we are all are trying to attain. That includes you right?
Once a person tells me that he is humble I know that he is not:)
