Well from what ive seen around here.. Catholics tend to know more of the bible than most protestants..
Stick around. You will see the total opposite. I have never heard any christian say what you said. In fact, of all the catholics I have conversed with, they dont know anything about the bible. Catholics hhave always been taught. They are read the liturgys. They dont know jack:)

same can be said about way too many evangelicals...only in that case, I would say they don't know Jesus

they only know the topical sermon they hear on Sunday and half of that can be newspaper related articles for that timely 'I know what I'm talkin 'bout feeling'

when you say something like 'they don't know jack' as in ALL Catholics in ALL countries it just makes me cringe

and your next comeback will do the same...

there really is no way to talk to you without incurring some kind of slap...which has done nothing for you at all here

Well, I've been around awhile. Raised Baptist, and experienced many of the others.

But, I have to say the CoC has most denominations beat, hands down, for knowing the Bible. Now, they might not know much, at all, about what Jesus taught, (However, neither do most Christians. LOL) but they sure memorize the words in the book better than most.

What is there to debate. im talking about , my area lol here is you ask a lutheran about the bible thy dont when know 4 commandments, ask a catholic and theyll know much more
So the Catholic will know why he's not in heaven and the Lutheran will have no idea but they both will abide in the lake of fire together for all of eternity. What good does it do either of them?

Knowing the bible means knowing Gods grace and Jesus Christ as Savior.

For the cause of Christ

All denominations have unbiblical teachings. babtists with the 'once your babtised you can sin al you want and go to heaven' teaching is just as dangerous. and no i dont have naything against babtists especially as I have two babtist pastors in the family.
Evangelical, charismatic and Pentecostals have the closest understanding in my opinion.
I really dont wanna go deeper on this lol

Well the Baptists you are talking about are once saved always saved. There are many, many Baptists that do not believe or preach that. I would agree evangelicals are closest to Biblical doctrines. Again Pentecostals have differing beliefs. Im Pentecostal but I dont believe you must speak in tongues to be saved.

That's probably because they are always under attack and use the bible to defend their positions.

Which CoC's have you been a member of?
A friend of mine (CoC) taught me straight off that it's NOT CoC, it's Sign out Front CoC! He said there are so many different CoC's teaching differing theologies, that all they have in common is the Sign out front.

:)

Yeah, that is true.... I would bet he belongs to a coC...(little "c" for the 'church' part)... they are very big on that particular distinction. LOL
