I've seen people who have been on the site that long and still not know the basic rules of the site.
I've also seen users here only a few months and know every rule.
Length of time on the site is no indicator of a persons knowledge about the site.

This is an online forum, a place meant for discussion. And this is the singles forum, I dont think having discussions about possible future relationships is such a horrible thing : p I mean he wasnt like asking people out or anything like that.

The OP was beautiful and from the heart yet he's immediately and openly corrected that it's not a dating site. A gentle reminder from a Moderator via a PM would suffice. No wonder the dude hasn't participated much in three and a half years.
