In local news: I tried to start my minivan and the motor went CHUNK! From the way it feels I'm guessing something connected to the serpentine belt has frozen up.

It has been parked since I got home from east TN. I've been thanking God a lot that this didn't happen while I was up there.

Just finished watching Mean Girls... I've always wondered, is prom really such a big deal? Or was it and is it still?

In high school, I sang at prom, stayed for the food and chatted with friends, left before midnight cause my parents picked me up way too early xD

Do u need prayer Abi? I can pray for you, but my faith has been very weak lately..
Weak faith. Is that why you are posting avatars that are a definite temptation to be unfaithful to my resolve to eat healthily? Sorry things are still so rough for you ZT.

You should stop. They might fire you for being overqualified. And will you work for me when I launch my business?
Well if they fire me, I might work for you. But I don't know if I could stand living in California so that could be an issue. Always good to have options though. And I really hate the whole discrimination against overqualified people thing, there's no guarantee that anyone is going to stick around so you might as well at least make an offer to someone who is overqualified, more bang for your buck even if that bang ends up being short lived.

21 years ago on this very day, I signed my life away.

I got married, just like the good Christian culture told me to do.

I wonder if he even remembers... while he's out with her and their kids together.

I'm betting he does. Just from how much i know you're loved, I think us CCer's need to tell you that it could be worse. You could still be married to the dumbass.

And... kenthomas wins the "Made Me Burst Out Laughing" award for a very reflective day. :D Huge hugs to you, ken. Boy, did that crack me up. :D

Tintin, thank you so much for your sweet thoughts.

The thing is, years ago, someone who once knew us both told me about his life on Facebook. He did everything we talked about doing when we were together--went to live in his dream country, married a girl there, had a family, has published a series of novels, opened a school. I saw the pictures with his name on the side in huge letters.

Me? I've just been living in tower (and it's not all that high, seeing as I'm afraid of heights), working small-time jobs and living a small life. But, at least it's mine, and God is the only one who could ever take it from me.

Or give it to someone else.

SOME THOUGHTS ABOUT LIFE:

Ever play a video game? I don't mean Pac-Man, I mean a real game with a storyline. That's why I played video games so much back in the day - for the story. Anything from RPGs to flight sims, as long as the story was good I played it.

Funny thing though, when I was playing I would get sidetracked by stuff. I wanted to backtrack down every side trail to make sure I wasn't missing a treasure chest. You never know, I might be missing something that will come in handy later on in the game. And you can never have too much money, right? Oh and on gamefaqs there's a cool guide on how to get that really overpowered sword... Sometimes I would erase days of gameplay and start over because I realized I couldn't go back in the game to get something I missed. And always I would spend far too much time getting stuff, and always I would reach the end of the game with tons of money unspent. Funny, I thought I was playing this game for the story, not to get game-stuff.

I've noticed life is a lot like that. A lot of people complain about their jobs because they always want a better one. A lot of people complain about the things they have missed, or things they imagine they might have missed in life. There is a large and very real drive to push oneself to be more, do more, have more. And while they are trying to find everything they can in the game of life, they are missing the story they came for.

Sure we need some stuff to get through this game. But we're not here for the stuff, we're here for the story.

Kim, I'm sorry.. I just want you to know that you are loved. If you wish, you can treat yourself at an all-you-can-eat-buffet at my expense. That, and you get a warm hug for being so awesome. :)

Let's see...

*weighs options*

Pining over ex... Drooling over buffet...

Guess which one wins out! :D

I just hope no one causes a hold up at the dessert table.

Things could get ugly.
