Wouldn't it make sense to ban weapons from public places to avoid things like that happening?
(if "protection" is needed, isn't that what the police is supposed to be there for?)

Theres many things I dont understand in that nation. I just think when all have a gun that, as you dont wanna be shot , you might not give into the temptation as much otherwise when not so many have one

These evil men who shoot innocent people are cowards.
They choose "soft" targets, those with least resistance.
They want to inflict the greatest damage as posible with the least resistance.
When was the last time that a place or person that was armed was attacked?

I thought all (well most) places were "armed" in the US, with all of it's citizens insisting on having guns (including lunatics like this guy)

After the shooting in California I listened to a police official on one of the news shows. He said that in active shooter situations, most of the killing happens within ten minutes once the shooter starts. He said " we cannot respond in that amount of time, people need to learn how to protect themselves." Banning guns will not take them away from criminals. Stricter guns laws only affect law abiding citizens.

Muslims.

They are doing it

I don't know the stats on that but local news in the area are saying the man had Arabic writings in his car. Unsure if this is true or what they mean by that. If this is another Muslim situation I can see there is going to be a backlash against Muslims. People are tired of the pc foolishness.

I don't know where you got that information, but it is wrong.
The wild west is gone. Very few public places or work places have armed security.
As for the Orlando shooter, he was confronted by an armed security guard (off duty police officer) shots were exchanged but neither were hit and the shooter then entered the club.
My concern is that a trained police officer was not accurate with his gun.
Why? This question should be answered. Why did he miss?
Just because police are present does not guarantee this will not happen again.

I got my information in these forums: US citizens consider it a right to carry a gun
and most members here are pro gun
which made it natural for me to assume that most of you carry a gun at all times

Not really. Muggers tend not to mug on quiet country roads. They tend to mug where people come along.

Wouldn't make more sense to stop blaming guns, and instead, blame the obvious? Why are insane people allowed to decide if they need mental health help? And yet, in the US they cannot be committed unless they want to be. Conundrum. The first proof of insanity is being sure you aren't insane.

One thing most of the mass shooters in the US have in common are THEY'RE INSANE!

We have the most gun control and least problems with shootings, one massacre was enough for us to do something about it, haven't had one since.

No. it is aganist the law to carry without a permit.
While many of us own guns, very few have a permit to carry. Whether or not I or my wife have a permit, it is none of your business.
We use our guns to hunt or for target practice or for home protection.
Now if some one comes to our home with evil on their mind, they will be confronted.

I live in a state with some of the weakest gun control laws (supposedly, I dont really keep up with them), and I have met an entire one person who carried a gun with them at all times : p Most people dont just have guns with them all the time : p
