Hi all,
I have truly underestimated this humble grain - until now.I have started incorporating it into my diet for the following reasons:
1)It is very inexpensive.1 large bag costs less than one Australian dollar and by the time I have boiled it - I probably have 6 -9 small meals. This reason alone makes it a winner!Who wouldn't rather spend money on other things?
2) All the fibre keeps you regular. This is good news for the colon and for keeping it clean - oats literally act like an intestinal broom as they bulk up the stool and draw out unwanted matter from the intestine.
3)Oats have many B- vitamens which are good for the skin and nervous system.
4) It is especially recommended for those with high cholesterol. The oats collect cholesterol in the blood and drag the excess out of your system. Also , don't quote me but it may even reverse high cholesterol.
5) Oats keep you fuller for longer.Who wouldn't rather be doing other things than cooking and eating all day?
So there you have it - a somewhat sketchy explanation of why oats are soooooooooo good for you.Happy eating!
