What they are trusting in is their belief that they are doing GOD's will because they think he is manifesting himself through them because they cast out of demons, prophesy, and do 'miraculous' things in the spirit. These are all characteristics of the charismatic persuasion.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Matthew 7:22

Nonsense as we are told by Jesus that the church will do greater works then what He had done. Notice the operative word in the below scriptures is "believe".
John 14:12 (NASB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.
Mark 16:17-18 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] "These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues;
[SUP]18 [/SUP] they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."
The truth is that these people were false prophets just like Jesus said "in context" ( Matt 7:15 ) and Jesus did not "know them". Jesus knows His sheep He said. They were now in Christ.
