too much!
besides the fact I love turtles and have saved a few and sadly done a few in over the years (not recently) by not providing enough care
I had my own bird experience yesterday
driving into town to get some things and more feed for the duckies, which are becoming quite a crowd with moms and babes in tow, I saw a blackbird in the exact middle of the road, right dab smack in the middle of the road, standing stiff with its head up and beak wide open
I don't need to be asked twice. I pulled over, praying no one would hit it again and went back and scooped it up...traffic had to slow, I guess I was more obvious than the bird
put it in my car and went straight to the feed store about a minute away...bought the feed then asked for water in a cup
got back into my car...bird was better...young blackbird and terrified by now...saw this and thought I'll just bring you back to your previous address. got there, and by that time, bird was adept at hide and seek. young, learned fast. got it finally, gave water, which it seemed to appreciate (it was hot) and then placed it in someone's garden right across from where I found it
it scuttled off and hid, so it just might be ok, but at least it had a chance
I'm known for animal rescue. when I was a kid, others kids were bring their sick pets to me and I would try to diagnose or say take him to the vet
everyone thought I would be a vet
