If you don't mind sharing, how many calories were you having? I tried counting but I think I went too low and it got me really anxious and tired. I was eating about 1,200.
I was also eating 1200. But all our needs are different. You may have been burning a lot more than me during a normal day. You will lose weight anytime you burn more than you eat, so you could try 1500 a day and see if that helps.
For me, having so few cals to work with made me VERY picky about what I ate. It had to really be worth it. So I automatically started eating healthier, paying attention to things like condiments and such that we normally don't even think about, and choosing higher protein foods. I felt like I was starving to death until I began eating more protein. It keeps you full for longer.
I am at the point now where I don't need to watch what I eat so carefully (I'm eating normally) and just weighing myself every few days. If it looks like I've definitely gone above my goal range, I will start counting again for a few weeks until I'm back below my goal consistently. I've needed to do that once, I believe it was after the holidays
, and it worked like a charm.
I feel so much more confident knowing that if I do gain a bit, all I have to do is restrict for a few weeks and I'm back on track. I'm no longer under this huge fear that I'll regain all my weight back. Very freeing and encouraging!
