if this was 1980 and the USSR was caught trying to influence the election in favor of mondale...plenty of the people in this thread who now think the hacking and foreign meddling is no big deal would have been in an absolute uproar over it then...

but unlike many republicans...my principles didn't change when the political players changed...
I don't disagree with you about Russia. But it is done. Now what? I say we vote for Rachel.

that is a false analogy...because unlike the case at hand...your scenario includes no crime being committed...

a better scenario would be...if you were a citizen of the roman empire 2,000 years ago and someone -murdered- the local governor who you are not going to miss...would you be honoring the assassin?
My analogy was in regards to Trump v Clinton, that you feel has crushed the life out of Christians. It had nothing to do with the email scenario. If you wonder why Christians would support a non-Christian candidate, I was suggesting that to many of us, it is like the Roman Governor scenario. Trump isn't the candidate that says he is going to feed us to the lions.

well my suggestions for 'now what?' are...

hold russia accountable for meddling in our elections...
recognize wikileaks as a politically motivated foreign actor with hostile intentions and treat it as such...
hold ecuador accountable for its refusal to hand julian assange over the face justice...
investigate paul manafort...

well my point about trump and american christianity -was- directly related to the email hack...only under the influence of trump could so many professing christians be cheering for criminal activity in the united states...the left has tried and failed to destroy american christianity for decades...but trump is the one who has finally succeeded by poisoning the american church from within...

So far we can agree. I'd like to add, though, that applauding foreign organizations which, without a shadow of doubt, are trying to meddle with U.S. domestic affairs, should not be taking place.
Suppose there was a foreign organization that was outraged over the millions of unborn killed in the U.S. and they decided to take action and somehow close down abortion clinics. I feel certain that I would applaud them for it.

once again you leave the 'crime' element out of your analogy...

suppose there was a foreign organization that blew up abortion clinics in the united states...would you still applaud them?

So how do we hold Russia, Ecuador, and Wikileaks accountable, nuke the first two and shut down the internet? Don't get me wrong, as a child, I dreamed of the day I could fight the rat-faced Russians, but the iron curtain fell 25 years ago and the world just aint been fun anymore.
Maybe we can propose a declaration to the U.N. saying "Bad Russia, bad." Then Russia can veto it.

The president, be it him or her, should leave abortion legislation to the states. We don't need no federal aggrandizement.

Tell me more about your principles. When did they become sensitized to less than perfect candidates? Was Nixon living in your ere of republican law and order? Was Reagan, when he gave amnesty to criminals illegally entering this country? When did that ere exist?

If it was 1980, and the USSR was caught trying to influence the election in favor of Mondale by releasing truthful information that Reagan had sent to someone, the result would have been Reagan winning 49 of 50 states, just as he did.

You seem to think the information being leaked was fabricated. Democrats are not even suggesting that. They are trying to divert people's attention away from the fact that the information leaked is actually statements confirming a corrupt democrat party. There is a huge difference between leaking information that could endanger the lives of intelligence agents and leaking personal emails that show party leaders were violating campaign protocol and favoring one candidate over the other, while saying publically they were not doing that, and suggesting you are being totally transparent. These emails should not have to have been leaked. They should have been available for all Americans to read as part of a transparent campaign. It should be the law that nothing like this can be hidden.

I am sincerely grateful for your input in these forums.

I am a WikiLeaks sympathizer, even knowing their actions are illegal. You encourage me to revisit my infatuation over WikiLeaks and look at it from a view point consistent with biblical teachings. I think even I know it is ethically wrong for them to do what they do, but I can't make myself be outraged by them targeting corrupted entities for some unknown reason.

My question to you: How do we expose people in high positions of power without doing anything illegally?

Not trying to ruin your day, but there were voices raised whenever one Edward went on a rampage...:p
"Rampage"? and snowden is not WikiLeaks ...WL has been doing this stuff for years and I have never seen or heard any of the people now trying to shift blame from the Dems and Hillary, say a word?

putin has three things to be angry at clinton about...

...he thinks that 'reset button' thing in 2009 was all about her favoring medvedev over him
...clinton successfully pressured medvedev into not vetoing the resolution against ghaddafi in 2011...putin angrily compared the resolution with 'the medieval calls for a christian crusade'
...in 2011 clinton joined the chorus of criticism over russia's rigged elections...which putin saw as an unforgivable attempt at undermining his grip on power

putin also has a big reason to favor trump over clinton...trump is anti NATO half of the time...
Is that why Russia gave the Clintons over 1oo million dollars in the past few years ...its insane to think Russia is trying to destroy Hillary ..unless you think she took their money and didn't do what she promised them she would do?

you use the word 'revealed' like we now know something new that we didn't already know before...
Well clearly it was thought ..but now its proven in their own words and people are losing their jobs and the democratic party is in meltdown mode ... Hillary is going to get booed off the stage at her own nomination by Democrats ...its a huge story and is only going to grow more and more.

AN American citizen handing over classified information to a foreign organization is relevant to what Mr Mitspa was expressing. The point I'm trying to make, is that there's been several outcries regarding this matter over years now. It was an offspring of the Bush administration, not entirely, of course, but he served as a midwife:p
Your problem is this has nothing to do with snowden ... so what point do you think you are making?

maybe i'm just longing for the old days when the republicans were actually the party of law and order...
Vote for Trump ..if you want law and order...and I don't give two hoots about the republican party..i care about my country

The reason Trump won is because the establishment Republicans are as corrupt as Hillary and her bunch or crooks.

That's part of the point as well the old war mongers like Hillary and many republicans want to stir up trouble with Russia and start another cold war... Its insane!... while these same people refuse to say radical islam and hold hands with the Arabs
