Now Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross. And the writing was: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

ever consider what that little hyphen is in between the dates on a tombstone.
That represents that person's life...sometimes followed by a epitaph which is how other people remembered them.

We all know that someday we will depart from this earth. What would your epitaph read or what would you want it to read.
Sometimes we are the only gospel people will ever read........so what words would your family and friends agree to best described you on your marker?

They'd probably write "She finally shut up!"

I'd like, "Free at last. Free at last! Thank God Almighty, I'm free at last."

How about you? (You didn't answer your own question.)

I recently saw a post on FB that described a mother's recipe for cookies and how she would always say to people who asked for the recipe, "Over my dead body." Guess what she put on her stone? The cookie recipe. haha

I don't know, in answer to this question. Truth be told. I'd rather focus on life.

I think my wife concluded. Gone home

I don't really have any idea what will actually be written on a tombstone marking my grave. I don't know that there even will be a "grave" for a tombstone to mark. I am still debating between burial and cremation.

That being said, I would hope that I will be remembered as a "loving Brother in Christ. A loving Brother, Father, and Grandfather, and a pretty good fisherman"

:)

I think it's important to know what people think about you. Jesus even inquired about this to Peter. Who do they say I am. Who do you say I am. I've been called all sorts of names but that's not the point. When it really comes down to it who do they say you are. Truly and sincerely.

Imo if you want to know if your pastors a true man of God look at his wife. A child of the Lord must become transparent...we know this as humble....easy to read...friendly non threatening with nothing to hide.

I would like to have 'loved by all she meet' on my tombstone. i really want to make a difference in people's lives here on earth. And have two black mastiff dogs follow my coffin. A horse drawn carriage bearing my coffin. I think this thread is a bit creepy actually lol.

I'm pretty sure being a braggart is PAGAN!

:)

I miss fishing........sadly, I am not physically able to go anymore. I pray to God that no matter what the outcome of all of this stuff with me is, that I will at least be able to once again go fishing.........but, if it is not to be, I will rejoice in Him.

I do miss fishing though.

You want "misfits" following your coffin, and THIS THREAD is what you FIND CREEPY?

Hmm........

Actually, to avoid paying for a burial or cremation, we're donating our bodies. So, not so much a discarded body in the ground as a cadaver that a med student will probably name Granny. Still. I like epitaphs.

I'm kind of a private person in the "real world." Folks here may find that hard to believe, but those who know me in the "real world," know it is true. So, I don't think I could do that. Nothing wrong with it, just not a decision I could make.

At a young age like yours I can see that but it's something we can't escape.

Unless Jesus returns:D.......hurry Lord hurry.
