Re: Why God no longer require His people to keep the feast.

What I meant to say, Paul is not telling the believers to 'NOT' observe God's holy days.
Paul is telling them, Don't let your freak pagan neighbors judge you because you ARE observing God's commandments.
Go Paul!!

Quite to the contrary, the context, and the rest of Paul's writings, clearly show that Paul is saying do not let Hebrew Roots pplz ((commonly called '
Judaizers' and Paul's own term, "the concision" - Philippians 3:2)) judge you for not doing these things.

Else why would he be calling the people in Galatia "
fools" and "bewitched" and commenting that he fears he has utterly wasted his time preaching the gospel to them, when he discovers that they are observing holy days?
Venture a guess which holy "
days" and "weeks" they were observing?
((Hint: the whole context of the epistle is unmistakably correcting the heretical error of Hebrew Roots))

This nonsense cannot go unchallenged.

To imply that the only alternatives to your beliefs (DM) are Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny is at the very minimum totally wrong but also highly insulting to all Christians who are Bible-believing followers of Christ.
You are dismissing all who take the birth, death, and subsequent resurrection of Jesus Christ seriously as those who are gullibly taken by cheap commercial exploitation.

I for one have never been confused by the commercial aspects of Christmas and Easter (most loved by those who have no idea of what they mean - i.e. non-believers) with their spiritual significance.

In fact the biggest commercial exploitation of spiritual events, possibly in the history of the world, was none other than that perpetrated by Jewish leaders of the Temple (the Sanhedrin) in and around the time of Jesus Christ.

I have watched you for some time DM and I cannot understand how the moderators allow someone with such an insulting view of Christianity to continue to post with impunity.

As for those agitators,
I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!

(Galatians 5:12)

Paul is not mincing words with these people.
This is a very clear reference to circumcision -- and there is exactly one group of people who practice that.
Jews.
Judaizers. Hebrew Roots.

So don't even pretend that the problem in Galatia was gentiles picking on the faithful for practicing Torah.
That would be a boldfaced lie.

Re: Why God no longer require His people to keep the feast.

No it doesn't say that at all but you can twist it to fit if you like to believe a lie..

14. Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

The handwriting and ordinances are the Mosaic covenant laws...I know that the Hebrew roots teachers have brainwashed their followers into believing they are something else, but it doesn't fit and takes a lot of twisting and ignoring scriptures to no purpose to try and make people be enslaved by the Mosaic covenant instead of understanding how Jesus fulfilled the promise given to Abraham and Adam which predated the Mosaic laws.
All I can tell you is this.
I was there, in a baptist church for years.
There is a lot of Scripture twisting going on for sure.
We were tricked. Time to wake up.

If you read Scripture,
you will find that even in the Old Testament, God was more concerned about circumcision of the heart.
Do the study.
Find out how many times circumcision of the heart is mentioned in the Old Testament.

A typical non-response.

Your whole theology just got exploded dude, in fact it was exploded by the truth within a few days of you arriving here.
But you refuse to hear it. Just as our Lord said of the Pharisees -- you cannot understand, because you cannot bear it.

You are forever learning, but you never come to a knowledge of the truth.

It's true. It's the gospel message found throughout the old testament.

However it doesn't change the fact the feasts and sacrifices were shadows fulfilled in the life, death and resurrection of Christ.

The Old Covenant was a shadow of Jesus Himself. Jesus Himself elevated the Law to show people that they need a Savior. You shall not murder - however "I" say that if you are angry with some one - you have murdered them. Are you aware that this is taught in the Law also?

The Old reveals Jesus. I read the Old Covenant to see Jesus in them - not for rules to keep. Christ is our life now in the New Covenant. I can agree with that, The new reveals Jesus also it all does.

The Old Covenant now is obsolete and we have only the New Covenant - which is why it is called the "New"....and it is Jesus Himself!
What do you mean that it is obsolete? While I agree that the old has passed and the new is come. I also acknowledge that the new is based in the old. Love is still the main thing as it was in the old. For example as you have said above, The new covenant did not introduce "you shall not murder" it was carried over as love does not change.

Can you think of a better reason to observe God's holy days and shun fake holy days?

Didn't grow up with Christmas.

I do like the songs sung at Christmas like O Holy night and Drummer Boy and many others ....I also like when people reenact the story of Baby Jesus and the angels singing on high.

I think Santa has been corrupted. The man who inspired Santa have toys to poor orphans who wouldn't have had them....now a days kids are told to "be good" and "earn" their presents...corruption of what grace is suppose to show...We can't bee "good" enough to earn salvation...sometimes bad kids get nice presents from "Santa" aka rich mom and dad ....while the orphans get nothing.

The Easter bunny scared my kids when they were little. Didn't grow up with that either.

Easter time should be in celebration of the resurrection of Christ or after lent/40 days in honor of the time Jesus spent in the desert.

As for implying that the church is Babylon, not really buying it...I prefer Jesus prayer for God to keep us even though we have to live in this world.

If you want to do it and feel God lead you to, I am all for you doing it. However, if you condemn others for Not doing it, then you have crossed the line.

That is the point I am trying to make.

You seem to be carrying bitterness from your last Baptist church experience?

What lead you to the Hebrew roots movement?

What have you learned from the Law mike?

What is the culmination of the law? What is the point of it? What is it meant to produce?

Is it behavior modification? Or something else?

Why don't you ever preach Christ? Why do you never glorify Him? Why is the Law of a broken covenant none of us were ever baptized into the only thing you ever preach?

you and I have had all these same discussions. you don't read, (or listen to) my answers, so I wind up having to ignore your repetitive babble. You are more interested in shining for friends than truth.

Obsolete =

Hebrews 8:13 (NASB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] When He said, "A new covenant," He has made the first obsolete. But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to disappear.

παλαιόω palaioō verb To make old, to become old, declare or treat as obsolete

Complete Biblical Library Greek-English Dictionary, The - The Complete Biblical Library Greek-English Dictionary – Pi-Rho.

The Old Covenant is now a goner. We as Christians have died to the Law SO THAT we could be joined to Another - Jesus Christ Himself.

The Law is really a manifestation of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. We are to eat now from the tree of Life which is Christ Himself.

Love is the main thing and we love now because He first loved us. The Law fulfilled it's purpose and brought us to Christ - so now we live by Him alone. Only the love of God that is now in us ( Rom. 5:5 ) can actually fulfill the full intent of the Law - this is really a manifestation of the life of Christ in and through us.

I would say more "excited" than bitter. Very thankful for my baptist years.
I don't know about titles such as "Hebrew roots movement".
Just study and test things you are being taught.

I will say this however, in reading through the whole Bible several times, I would get a little bewildered, that God would tell us how wonderful His instructions are, and then some "teacher" tell me that God did away with His laws. Baloney. (beef baloney please, I don't eat pork).
The whole thing makes a lot more sense when you begin to see the truth.
God's law is perfect, converting the soul.
Why would He throw out that which is perfect?
Answer: He didn't.
