Personally though, I just turn off tap-to-click. Never did use it, gets in the way and there are two perfectly good buttons below the touchpad.

Sometimes I really dislike having this track-pad on my laptop. Seems I am frequently clicking things I don't want to, and that's frustrating.
I will not use a trackpad. It's disabled on every laptop I use.

In order of best to worst:

Mouse
Trackball
Swine flu
Global thermonuclear war
Trackpad

Well if you want to get old-school with a trackball, I use ThinkPads and they still come with that little red button in the middle of the keyboard.

A coworker saw my laptop in the break room the other day and said, "Hey did you know your laptop is ancient?" I had to educate him.

I don't like trackpads either. I only use them when using a mouse isn't practical.. and I wish I was using a mouse.

So I was thinking about that verse in Ecclesiastes, chapter 8, verse 11: "Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil."

I was thinking that's the same way with food. Because the effects of eating too much of the wrong thing are not immediately apparent, one will eat WAY too much of the wrong thing and then suffer greatly.

That is so profound! I think my mind just exploded!

Once or twice per week I go pick up breakfast at a certain place. I always order the same thing... sausage, egg & cheese biscuits. One of the girls that works there always asks me if I would like jelly o_O. Of course I say no. It concerns me that there could be people out there putting jelly on sausage, egg & cheese biscuits. That's disgusting lol

Linux here.

I could theoretically use Fn+F5 on my machine to temporarily disable the trackpad while I am typing, but then I wouldn't have something to complain about.
If you use LM17/18 or Ubuntu they should still have a package for it...I installed it back when I had it on my machine (linux) and the responsiveness improved along with more features such as pinch to zoom and things.....

This is a debian help but should give an idea of maybe a way to fix your overactive touchpad....

https://wiki.debian.org/SynapticsTouchpad

synaptics I also think has a website to download drivers from....that maybe another option....
hope this helps :)

Waaat. Isn't it inconvenient carrying a mouse everywhere.

I LOVE trackpads. I tend to learn all the trackpad tricks BEFORE installing anything on a new laptop.

Honestly, I didn't notice that they had much flavor on their own. Kind of a chewy texture, but really bland in flavor. Perfect for sautee in garlic butter. They were an experiment for me in the area of alternative and sustainable protein sources. I could eat them frequently. Tonight though, my stomach is kind of like "umm, Jon...what on Earth did you put down here?"

Funny, after I asked this I scrolled through Facebook and a friend of mine had posted a picture of cooked snails on a plate, shell still on and said, I love French food. Her husband is from France and she's there visiting family.

Yea I use trackpad if the laptop is mobile, but it hasn't left the house in years... I probably prefer a mouse because I was a graphic artist for a long time. :)

Oh then that explains it. My sister does the same and I keep telling her to start using her track pad more. I never understood. Lol.

My finger starts hurting with the track pad. :( So I love my mouse! But if I'm traveling, I usually don't take it.
I'm no artist lol but my index finger is sensitive. :p
