I plan to attend a local BLM meeting tomorrow to bring up concerns about the m4bl demands and then to ask if it is something they really support. I've got a pretty good idea which points I will make, but does anyone have any questions they would like me to ask?

I would only ask the same questions the hundreds of parents of black kids killed by other blacks would ask. It's like Sherriff David Clark says all the time........... the problem in not found by looking at the police department.

1. Why do you continue to make martyrs out of violent criminals?
2. Why are you harassing Shoppers at malls when they have nothing to do with it original problem
3. Why are you shutting down freeways when taxpaying citizens who have harmed no one have a right to use them
4. Why do you encourage looting and destroying your own neighborhoods
5. Why are you the living embodiment of every negative black stereotype?

Willie-T, The group is aware of the statistic of Black on Black crime.
Dude, The group is also aware of the stigmatism (points 1-5) of BLM.

We live in Columbus, Indiana. It isn't a tiny community, but it isn't
as bad as the major cities. The head of the group here in Columbus
said that she wanted to de-stigmatize the BLM name in our community.

I did sign up as a member. The mission statement of our group includes
nonviolence and working with, not against, our police to discourage
discrimination and to promote good, trusting relationship between
police and people of color.

They call the group BLM of Columbus, but we aren't really BLM.
I'm going to try to work within the group to get the name changed.
There is really no benefit of having the BLM name, but it does give
us plenty of disadvantage. I'll let you all know how it goes.

True BLM = violence b/c of all the loons who torch their own cities...they would do better to call it something like "citizens for (equal) justice" instead of BLM which is a derivation of the 60's black panther party and Black Liberation Movement (the original BLM)....mixed with violent communist ideaology...

I don't have a problem with a group focusing on the rights of a particular ethnicity. There are some very real issues that need to be addressed but what black live matter is doing is not helping

I'm sorry, but it has gotten to the point that the mere sight of the three letters, BLM, raises hate and disgust in me like nothing else has in many, many years. I'm serious. This is one group that turns my stomach.

I have to agree Willie. The Bureau of Land Management has been mismanaging and restricting access to public land for years. It's enough to infuriate an outdoorsman. :p

It got so bad, I stormed out of a diner the other day because I mistook BLT on the menu for BLM.

Another waste of time/money/effort!

The Bureau of Land Management could make itself useful by restricting the land the Black Lives Matter's movement uses...while the latter group is on location.

I agree that the name is beyond repair. The founder of the group in Columbus wants to destigmatize the name, but I think her Black pride is clouding her decision. Our group isn't violent and is working with our police instead of protesting against them.

It is almost like if a white man started a KKK of Columbus, took one or two good ideas from the old KKK, and decided they would make a better name for the KKK in their community. It really is senseless and only makes our mission more difficult. It makes me wonder if she is clueless, arrogant, or having a secret agenda.

I'm not sure how to approach this topic with the group though. I'm only a new member. I think if I don't approach it carefully then they will just tell me to pick up my white privileges and leave.

why would anyone especially any white person get involved with BLM anyway. it be like a black man jumping up to support neo-nazi's

BLM is a terrorist organization in open insurrection, if this nation had real leaders it would have been put down at 1st moments of violence.

And THAT is part of the problem.... being "pro-black" is about as racist as you can get.

By definition, if you are pro-black, that means "at the expense of every other race"... and that is WRONG.

We should be "pro-people"... or "pro-ALL-life"

It disgusts me to see black people treated badly by ANYONE... whether it's police, or other black people, or white people.

It also disgusts me to see white people treated badly by anyone...

We are WAY past the time when a person's skin color should be a deciding factor in how they are treated. The ONLY deciding factor should be the way they act, as members of society.

Son of a gun. And all this time, I thought you were black.

Interesting that Black Lives Matter and Bureau of Land Management issues have been fused here - let's extend the issues a bit:

White supremacist kills cops:

Iowa Police Shooter a Confederate-Flag-Waving Racist

Big supporter of Donald Trump.

By contrast, government agent provocateur tries to create violence at peaceful rally but is caught by civilians:

Imagine if that had been BLM who killed the Iowa cops. There would be multiple threads on the subject on this forum. So far, there have been none.

Why the silence?

As for government employed provocateurs, again why the silence? Where's the outrage over the fact that the controlled right wing media refuses to report this and the actions of similar agents in BLM rallies???

I found a video on YouTube called why BLM is bad for black people. I would post it here but it has profanity. But this guy comes up perfectly while the movement is actually doing more harm than good
