So if a nurse is keeping the Sabbath holy and sees someone in a car wreck in front of their house, they shouldn't render aide according to your interpretation?
anyone rendering aide would be doing God's work, allowable on the sabbath.

in your view, what things are not allowed on the sabbath?

Cops, medical personnel and those who render needed services (power plant, ect) are servants....

For he is the minister of God to thee for good. - Romans 13:4

I believe fewer cops, tow drivers, powerplant workers would have to work on the sabbath if people didn't use non-essential electricity and stayed at home.

I believe the israelites were told not "leave their place".

when there's a high degree of disorder in an area, doesn't law enforcement usually enact a curfew? making it easier for the available officers to keep the peace?

a person could write hundreds of pages about "how to keep the Sabbath" or "what is allowed on the Sabbath".
Oh wait, they did do that, literally thousands of man made rules about the Sabbath.

Forget the man-made rules.
Just honor God's Sabbath.

Man has a knack for making God's simple rules much more difficult. That's why Jesus was always getting into it with the church leaders of the day. God says to keep the Sabbath holy. Here's the definition of holy:
[h=4][/h]
  • Dedicated or consecrated to God or a religious purpose; sacred.

The Sabbath was made for man - not the other way around. Jesus as the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath - until people understand about what Christ did while He was here on this earth, in His death and resurrection - then we will continue to use our fleshly minds to "try to keep the law" by seeing what was said in the Old Covenant. Jesus fulfilled the Old Covenant. It is dead and a goner for Christians.

If people want to observe a day or a festival....etc for any reason - go for it - but it has absolutely nothing to do with righteousness or "obeying the law" for the true Christian.

To try to tell other believers that they should observe something in the Law and if they don't - "that is not obeying God's commandments" - that's where the perversion of the gospel of the grace of Christ comes in and then you become a modern day Judazier.

The Sabbath is made for man.
Well of course it is. We needed an appointed time to meet with God.
He didn't need it.

You keep forgetting Christ and His finished work on the cross and resurrection. This is why your religion is anti-Christ.

This is a Christ-focused forum.

Christians should be going on Jewish forums to tell them about the Messiah has come. Instead you come to a Christ-based forum to try to get believers to desert their Lord for going back to the Law. ( Gal. 1:6 )

We can trust the Holy Spirit and the life of Christ in us now for life and living. Come to the New Covenant and believe in Christ and all that He has already done for you.

The saints have been adequately warned about your false religion that tries to get believers to desert their Lord. ( Gal 1:6 )

We are not going to give in to you for even one hour so that the truth of the gospel will remain with us. Paul did they very same thing for his Judaizers that came to pervert the gospel of the grace of Christ.

Galatians 2:3-5 (NASB)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] But not even Titus, who was with me, though he was a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised. ( which is part of the Law of Moses )

[SUP]4 [/SUP] But it was because of the false brethren secretly brought in, who had sneaked in to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, in order to bring us into bondage.

[SUP]5 [/SUP]But we did not yield in subjection to them for even an hour, so that the truth of the gospel would remain with you.

Let me ask of you, since you have the spirit of Jesus, do you include Christmas as a holy day?

No I don't...I do say Happy Birthday Lord! Then I say - I don't know when your real B-day is but I'll use this time period to say You are my Lord and God! Thank you for revealing the Father to me.

Thank you for Your grace and mercy. Thank you that all sins are forgiven and I have redemption through your blood. I am a child of God because I am in You and we are one in the spirit together.

I don't esteem any day as holy. I esteem the Lord Jesus Christ as holy. - holy means "separate". Holy really means "other" - there is nothing like Him. He is holy/separate from all things.

He is "other"......there is no-one or anything like Him and the Father and the Holy Spirit in the universe.

I'm very in favor of honoring God's sabbath... the parts we could discuss would be in what actual things we do... but if you don't want to discuss it, that's totally cool...

Thank you for your answer. I hope I am understanding your faith. For me, Jesus is an extension (arm) of the Father and they are one. The Holy Spirit is also an extension of the Father. Therefore, there is no separation from God and His Holy Day.

The world is to know which God or gods we serve by this one particular commandment. But there is an anti-Semitic that has been with the Christians since Constantine. Whatever the Messianic Jews did, Christians were commanded by a mere human with the threat of death if anyone was found keeping the Sabbath holy.

Many Hebrews (Messianics) are being led by the Holy Spirit to the prophesied restoration and there is a record number of Christians who want to serve God through Christ and are leaving the traditional Christian churches which follow RCC and keep Sunday as "the Lord's Day". When we read in Revelations that Mystery Babylon has daughters, that is interpreted as the Protestant Churches did not back up far enough, and kept RCC Sunday, Christmas and Easter.

Once I actually started keeping the Sabbath, my Bible understanding of Jesus and His message and the restoring of the Kingdom of God (all Israel) can be seen and understand Jesus use of parables. No longer do I have to spiritualize away what the parable means in light of Jesus gospel of the coming Kingdom, reuniting House of Israel and House of Judah. I do love Jesus, and the gospel of His death, burial and resurrection and how I am a new creation.

At times, I want to share this restoration process with others, hoping that someone will hear, have their heart pricked and their eyes opened and come out of Mystery Babylon. But now I can understand you are in restoration also because you are not holding onto Christmas, and that is really a good thing.

I really appreciated your answer. Thank you.

Wait, Paul says we can look to the Old Testament Scriptures for instructions in righteousness. Are you saying believers should not do that?
Paul's writings were scriptures too as Peter recognized ( 2 Peter 3:15-16 ). Paul also wrote 2 Timothy which was his last letter at the end of his life around 67 AD.

Most others epistles were already in circulation by the time Paul wrote his last epistle to say that all scripture was for "instruction" which is the Greek word for "child-training" - this word "instruction" does not mean law/torah.

"The instruction in righteousness" that Paul talked about is the righteousness of the Lord and he did get it from the Old Testament as well as him expounding in all his other letters that we are the righteousness of God in Christ now because of the finished work of Christ on the cross and resurrection.

Paul used the revelation that Jesus Himself gave of what happened at the cross and resurrection to speak forth the truth of Christ in us - the hope of glory and that Christ Himself is our righteousness. Paul saw this in the Old Testament and here is an example.

We that are in Christ have the Lord's righteousness now in our inner man that is in Christ.

Isaiah 45:24-25 (NASB)
[SUP]24 [/SUP] "They will say of Me, 'Only in the LORD are righteousness and strength.' Men will come to Him, And all who were angry at Him will be put to shame.

[SUP]25 [/SUP] "In the LORD all the offspring of Israel Will be justified and will glory."

Here is one more from the OT - Isaiah 54: 17 of the Lord telling what the believer would have because of what Christ did in Isaiah 53 when He died on the cross to take away our sin and make us righteous in Him.

Isaiah 54:17

[SUP]17 [/SUP] "No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me," declares the LORD.

Folks we have a great salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ!

Ephesians 3:8 (NASB)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ

You are most welcome.

I am far from anti-Semitic. I have financially helped to send Jews home from Russia to Israel. I have also bought food and clothing for the holocaust families that were still alive. I bless the real Jewish people whenever I have a chance.

No one should be going to go back to the Law of Moses for life or living after coming to Christ. We are dead to the Law SO THAT we could be joined to Another - Christ Himself.

Everything in the Old Covenant is a mere shadow of the real substance which is Christ Himself.

The world in the New Covenant knows that we are of God because we love - Jesus said this truth in John 13:35 - NOT because of a day from the Old Covenant.

As, I said numerous times - if people want to observe a day or a festival - go for it but it has nothing to do with righteousness nor is the Christian in any form bound to the Law of Moses.

As long as people that desire to observe days or festivals don't say to believers in Christ " You are not obeying God by observing the holy days and festivals like we do" - then that is fine with me.

If they do say things like this - then they are perverting the gospel of the grace of Christ and they are in fact Judaizers that need to be dealt with in a strong way in order to keep the integrity of the gospel of the grace of Christ intact.

Disciplemike is a definite modern day Judazier that seeks to get believers in Christ to desert Christ for the Law. Gal 1:6

The real sabbath is Christ Himself and He has fulfilled all the Law.

Personally I could care less for man-made traditions - I just see Christmas and Easter time periods as the Lord's birthday and death and resurrection. I highly doubt that they are the real days but it's totally irrelevant to me.

I don't understand how Jesus fulfilled all the law. There are 7 Feast Days, 4 in Spring, which He filled, and 3 in Fall, which is still to come.

Also, We are dead to the Law SO THAT we could be joined to Another - Christ Himself.

Deuteronomy 24:
1When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. 2And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife. 3And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife; 4Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that isabomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee foran inheritance.

Jeremiah 3:
6The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.7And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it. 8And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also. 9And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks. 10And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith the LORD.

Jeremiah 31:
31Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: 33But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Hebrews 8:
For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.8For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:9Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.10For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:11And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.12For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.13In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old isready to vanish away.

I know I'm barking up the wrong tree and this is falling on deaf ears, but this is how I see Jesus in the OT, GOD DIVORCED HOUSE OF ISRAEL, HIS LAW (Deuteronomy 24:1-4) prevented Him taking them back, thus God had to die so we could be married to His Son Jesus. ' we ,are grafted back into Israel the good olive tree, and are now in the New Covenant, because we died to our old self, baptised to represent that death, then raised back up in a new life in Christ. We are now free from the law of divorce and remarriage so that we are now the bride of Christ and we anxiously await the Fall Feasts for His return for His Bride.

The book of Hosea is the allegory story of God's marriage to an adulterous wife and how he calls those once NOT HIS PEOPLE, but through the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, we are now His people. Jesus is Immanuel, God with us.

It is an awesome God we serve and in return show Him our love by being prepared for His dates,His Feasts, His commandments that tell us how to love God 1st 4 of the ten, and with the horizontal relationship we are equipped for the vertical relationships on how to love our neighbors.

Oh, am I making sense, does any sheep hear the call? Come home to the Father through the awesome power of Christ. The only way back is to accept the first coming of Christ. It's all about the Gospel of the Kingdom that Christ preached. Look at Paul's letters and see this MYSTERY as Paul teaches. Paul is not against the Father's laws, he is against man made laws that are too heavy.

Of course Jesus kept the laws perfectly, and He who knew no sin, took our sins for us and nailed our debt on the cross.
