It strikes me that this has to do with the hopelessness that is keeping a lot of people shackled. They have finally, as they see it, found a man that gives them hope, a man talking down the establishment, offering simple solutions and is throwing the book at the people occupying the lowest part of society, the people even below themselves. And it is ironic how they are buying that, for the next time he will go after them, the little ones are always the ones society is bullying.
I think the establishment has failed to realize that many peoples in fact believes that getting rid of illegal immigrants etc will make their lives happier. To be brutally honest, by believing that kinda utter nonsense, they are behaving like liberals, saying that somebody else must fix the mess they are in.
I'm gonna be even more honest, maybe people like that would be better off if they didn't hit the shine on a daily basis, didn't spend every weekend getting loaded in some honky-tonk, and instead of sleeping to 12pm, got themselves a job. Then they wouldn't need a con artist like this candidate to frame them into believing he is some sort of messias...

But has he proven himself to be a man of political significance? The only reason why he is where he is today is that he is running against Hillary Clinton. Any other candidate, including Donald Duck, Goofy, Captain America and the pointy haired boss from Dilbert would have beaten him in a landslide.
