Hello I have been confused about a few issues for a while. Maybe others have too.

The problem is understanding the most realistic answers. Jesus said to a woman he healed, sin no more, when he was alive before rising, so wouldn't he say this anyway as she would be under the old testament. Not the new one after death? The old testament we could not adhere to? so the new testament of repentance, transforms us from sinners into not able to sin Christians, because once under blood, never out. But then what is judgement of a Christian, actions, faith, teachers being held to higher scrutiny? Catholic/ evangelist etc. So confusing. Any explanation appreciated, thanks.

For those who have rejected Jesus, judgement is a time of fear and sorrow.

For the Christian, it should be a time of reward.

Perfect love casts out fear.

Would you clear something up first? Who told you Christians can't/don't/won't sin?

That's confusing too. If once a Christian, then you reject Christ, aren't you under the blood forever anyway?

Im having a hard time understanding what you are trying to ask here, but Im guessing its about grace and the OT?

I believe that grace was the message the entire time, though yes the Jews lived under the law, God's will was grace. I have an example of this, in Jeremiah chapter 3, God tells Israel to come back to Him and repent, and that He will take them back, and no longer hold any anger over them. I believe that the law was taught to make us aware of sin, but that God's will was always grace, and I do not believe that He came up with a first plan, do what I say or die, then realized He made a mistake cuz "we just arent good enough to do whats right" and fixed His mistake by sending us Jesus.

And as for grace, though yes we are saved by our sins through grace, we are still told to not sin, and that sin leads to death. And yes, as Christians we must absolutely follow His word, and I whole heartily believe that those who chose to ignore one or two of His commandments are in danger. Jesus told us over and over, repent, sin no more, He told us that those who refuse to forgive will not be forgiven, He told us that those who hate are guilty of murder, He gave us many commandments and told us to obey them. Jesus never preached a message of "do what youd like as long as you believe in me, and you will be saved". I believe both teachings are true, we are saved from our sins, but He does tell us to repent of our sins, and has faith that we can say no to sin.

Jesus had the power to forgive sins (as He is after all God) even before He died for our sins.

We are to be transformed by the holy spirit living in us , but sometimes change takes time.
Paul said that he did the evil he didn't want to do and not the good he wanted to do, but he definitely was a Christian.

Faith is what erases our sin (because of the sacrifice Christ made)
Good deeds (actions) are what we should do to show the world who lives in us (giving glory to God)

Sinning as a Christian is transgression, not sin, as you only repent for forgiveness, also as a Christian you are under the blood so sin affects you, but is not in you anymore. Otherwise you'll be saying sin is in Christ, maybe?

That's confusing too. If once a Christian, then you reject Christ, aren't you under the blood forever anyway?

I'm not as fully convinced of that as the rest of the OSAS group seems to be, and have had my share of head-butting with members of my own congregation over that point.

Maybe that confusion comes from the lighthearted way people use the term Christian.
Many Norwegians who believe in "some kind of God" will say they are Christians, then get angry if you say a Christian is one who follows Christ

If Christ is on earth forgiving a woman of sin, though I don't remember sin being mentioned other than to not do it (healing) , this may break his own rules of sacrifice for forgiveness under the old testament, before his rising again? Confused.

Maybe his forgiveness of her then was a "temporary" forgiveness (as a sacrifice would have been), which was then a one- and - for - all at his resurrection

Also, God exists outside of our space and time, so He is probably not confined by it

Sorry all. Using a phone and 1st time using a blog for about 4 years. Will try to be clearer in replies and contexts. Back soon.

We receive Salvation by the Grace of God. How can you lose our Salvation by sinning if we received it as a Gift from God?

Salvation is not received by not sinning and Salvation cannot be lost by sinning!

It is very hard to lose one's Salvation, but there is a way to lose it. BUT, once you have lost your Salvation you can never ever receive it again. Once its gone its gone forever!

So true :)

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love Eph 1:4

All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast -- all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world. Revelation 13:8

For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.1 Peter 1:18-20

No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 1 Corinthians 2:7-8

But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 2 Th 2:13

To make my angle clearer, it says following the law (through order, told) means you fall from grace but are saved by Christ's righteousness. Following it by choice for self-improving is OK in my opinion to better oneself as a guide. Otherwise, we are saying do the law because Christ might not be enough. Sinning cannot be sin if we are eternally forgiven, and Jewish sins are forgotten?

So what are we to know what is right or wrong, unless we learn the law, at least?

What are we to do if good works do not improve our chances of being saved if we are eternally saved?

Trying to saves souls, unless you become a priest, if your allowed, trained, qualified, is near impossible for an average person unless we all live travellers lives, giving up all.

Do we just carry on, pray, and wait for the gifts at the end. This seems wrong, so what? Try to better ourselves even though most of us are depressed, failing and or suicidal. Alot to ask, but not much compared to crucifixion. It seems impossible to know what to do other than just pray, hoping in faith that God will do something?

This is my confusion.

You misunderstand what the O.T. taught. The O.T. was to show us we cannot keep the Law.

Abraham lived by Faith.

Romans 4:1-
What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, has found? [SUP]2 [/SUP]For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. [SUP]3 [/SUP]For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” [SUP]4 [/SUP]Now to the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favor, but as what is due. [SUP]5 [/SUP]But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness

The O.T. was also about repentance and walking in Faith. There is not much difference between what was taught in the O.T verses the N.T. The message is still the same that we walk in Faith with God, not by works.

Perhaps a list of questions that you have would be helpful. Then, we would be able to reply to each point distinctly.

Now as a new cc person, this is the bible discussion forum and can be very confusing. Just as a kind word of warning, you may receive multiple different answers based on different interpretations of the bible, often contentiously. Soon a debate may come up based upon these differences. Just a heads up.
