We love because he loved first.
He does not ask for obedience first, He saves us first. Otherwise we have no capacity to love, him or anyone else. He set the bar the bar was the cross..
again, to Love Him is to obey Him.
john 15:9-12 "
As the Father has loved me, so have I HAVE LOVED YOU. Now REMAIN IN MY LOVE IF YOU KEEP MY COMANDS , YOU WILL REMAIN IN MY LOVE, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12My command is this: Love each other AS I HAVE LOVED YOU."
why do you keep going back to the motivation for Love, and avoid whats here? the scripture is clear Jesus Loved us, anyone who understands He died for thier sin, should already know He Loves us. But be honest with yourself, what else is here and throughout the word? to obey His commands, is WHAT LOVE IS. if you Love Him ( because He already proved He Loves you) then you will obey Him, IF you keep his commands, you will be Loving Him as He makes clear. and if a person does not do that, what does it then mean>?
john 14:23 "
Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Anyone who DOES NOT LOVE ME, WILL NOT OBEY MY TEACHING. THESE WORDS YOU HEAR are not my own; they BELONG TO THE FATHER WHO SENT ME."
Anyone who says " jesus died for my sins" has the motivation and obligation to Love Him by obeying His commands, teachings. He already did all He is going to do to prove He Loves mankind. this doesnt mean its irrelevant whether a person obeys him, like the "finished work" doctrine says. his work is done, those who Love Him for it, will either obey Him, or expose thier lack of Love for Him based on whether they will keep His word.
to be clear though, it is wise to fear God almighty, he has shown since the flood what happens to those who will not repent. he showed it in the desert commanding the destruction of human life, making them turn thoier swords on one another, to show the world that sin is death. you guys always go in a circle. God isnt going to " throw anyone into Hell" He is warning us of the destination of sinners and giving us the instructions of eternal Life. new testament and old. Gods commands are not against us, they are there to save our lives. the motivation sure is Jesus Loved us, still does. yet the word is true, and it promises the terrible wrath of the Lamb upon the world that will not repent of thier sin. to know He died for us, is all the motivation we need to turn fully against what He says is sin and repent of those things, and also to accept what He says is right, and do those things. because He loved us enough to die. we needed Grace because all men were dead, had no hope no way to be forgiven.....He did that already, and now provides all we need for what is commanded. mnotivation included.
i think people need to accept what is there, especially when we see it, and we dont want it to be saying what it says. those are the things that show us what to change. the same word that says saved by Grace, then says grace is to teach you to repent and obey righteousness, or else, well end up in the resurrection of the wicked. not because God is a mean angry God, but because all along, hes been telling us hopw to live forever, and we consistantly ignore the truth, because we dont want to hear it. its not on God, not His fault if we dont repent of what He has made clear will end in destruction. its our choice, Christ Gave us that.
