lol do you think paul would preach against Jesus? you guys amaze me sometimes with the blindness found in "the gospel of grace" but i think were at 2 different places, so for the sake of remaining out of the same argument that bruce always used to bring, ill add you to the ignore list in order to keep peace and let you guys follow unwarranted favor. its puzzling why your group always ends up on my posts, then oi notice every post about obeying god, there are the same people telling the person advocating doing What Jesus says, that they dont get it :)

to me, it rings of the serpent in the Garden. God says one thing, he says nah.....thats not right, but hey, thats just me i suppose.

My group. You mean Christians?

Thank God for Paul. He expounds on what Christ has done for us in a way that only an expert on working at commandments could.

But those who would twist the gospel still do.

I figured you would show your true colors by now in telling the truth of why you don't capitalize Pauls name. It would probably be smarter to just put me on ignore. lol

People that don't agree with his version of the "application" of Jesus' words get put on ignore which is really a good thing because we get to speak forth the gospel of the grace of Christ no matter what people do or don't do, so it's all good!

This is however one of those Hebrews 12:15 situations in which other people can get defiled. We can't keep rejecting the grace of God without it having consequences to us and others around us.

But God in His great mercy can make all things new when we have the veil lifted from our eyes when we turn to the Lord for life and living instead of our own good works.

Hebrews 12:15 (NASB)
[SUP]15 [/SUP] See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled;

1COR. 9:24. - Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
HEB. 12:8. - But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
HEB. 12:25. - See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused Him
that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from Him that speaketh from heaven:
HEB. 12:28. - Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace,
whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

PHIL.2:16.
Holding forth The Word of Life; that I may rejoice in the Day of Christ, that I have not run in vain,
neither laboured in vain.

We love because he loved first.

He does not ask for obedience first, He saves us first. Otherwise we have no capacity to love, him or anyone else. He set the bar the bar was the cross..

again, to Love Him is to obey Him.

john 15:9-12 "As the Father has loved me, so have I HAVE LOVED YOU. Now REMAIN IN MY LOVE IF YOU KEEP MY COMANDS , YOU WILL REMAIN IN MY LOVE, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12My command is this: Love each other AS I HAVE LOVED YOU."

why do you keep going back to the motivation for Love, and avoid whats here? the scripture is clear Jesus Loved us, anyone who understands He died for thier sin, should already know He Loves us. But be honest with yourself, what else is here and throughout the word? to obey His commands, is WHAT LOVE IS. if you Love Him ( because He already proved He Loves you) then you will obey Him, IF you keep his commands, you will be Loving Him as He makes clear. and if a person does not do that, what does it then mean>?

john 14:23 "Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Anyone who DOES NOT LOVE ME, WILL NOT OBEY MY TEACHING. THESE WORDS YOU HEAR are not my own; they BELONG TO THE FATHER WHO SENT ME."

Anyone who says " jesus died for my sins" has the motivation and obligation to Love Him by obeying His commands, teachings. He already did all He is going to do to prove He Loves mankind. this doesnt mean its irrelevant whether a person obeys him, like the "finished work" doctrine says. his work is done, those who Love Him for it, will either obey Him, or expose thier lack of Love for Him based on whether they will keep His word.

to be clear though, it is wise to fear God almighty, he has shown since the flood what happens to those who will not repent. he showed it in the desert commanding the destruction of human life, making them turn thoier swords on one another, to show the world that sin is death. you guys always go in a circle. God isnt going to " throw anyone into Hell" He is warning us of the destination of sinners and giving us the instructions of eternal Life. new testament and old. Gods commands are not against us, they are there to save our lives. the motivation sure is Jesus Loved us, still does. yet the word is true, and it promises the terrible wrath of the Lamb upon the world that will not repent of thier sin. to know He died for us, is all the motivation we need to turn fully against what He says is sin and repent of those things, and also to accept what He says is right, and do those things. because He loved us enough to die. we needed Grace because all men were dead, had no hope no way to be forgiven.....He did that already, and now provides all we need for what is commanded. mnotivation included.

i think people need to accept what is there, especially when we see it, and we dont want it to be saying what it says. those are the things that show us what to change. the same word that says saved by Grace, then says grace is to teach you to repent and obey righteousness, or else, well end up in the resurrection of the wicked. not because God is a mean angry God, but because all along, hes been telling us hopw to live forever, and we consistantly ignore the truth, because we dont want to hear it. its not on God, not His fault if we dont repent of what He has made clear will end in destruction. its our choice, Christ Gave us that.

1COR. 9:24. - Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
HEB. 12:8. - But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Can you please show me one person who had true saving faith, Who understood completely his or her plight against God. Who knew, apart from Jesus they were headed straight to hell, would not pass go or collect 200 dollars. but straight to hell, after all their works were tried. And experienced the true newbirth of Jesus because of their complete faith in Christ, and giving their eternity to him. Would have NO DESIRE TO PLEASE THE ONE WHO SAVED THEM?

I am sorry, But this excuse that a man or woman can be saved, then have no desire to please the God who saved them from eternal damnation which they admit and acknowledge they rightfully deserve, is just crazy talk, Anyone who claims they were saved, and has no desire to please God. They have never been saved, Faith produces action. It does not produce armchair Christianity. The people who sit on their behinds and do nothing are the people who have never met God..

2 Thessalonians 2:1-7 (NASB)
[SUP]1 [/SUP]Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, [SUP]2 [/SUP]that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. [SUP]3 [/SUP]Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, [SUP]4 [/SUP]who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God. [SUP]5 [/SUP]Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things? [SUP]6 [/SUP]And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. [SUP]7 [/SUP]For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.

Matthew 24:10-13 (NASB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP]"At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another. [SUP]11 [/SUP]"Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. [SUP]12 [/SUP]"Because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold. [SUP]13 [/SUP]"But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.

καὶ διὰ τὸ πληθυνθῆναι τὴν ἀνομίαν ψυγήσεται ἡ ἀγάπη τῶν πολλῶν·

THE WORD MEANS...
Lawlessness, wickedness, iniquity, unrighteousness; sin that is rampant; a gross transgression of the law; unauthorized acts or conduct; evil-doing.

Practical Application
Unbelievers do not obey God. They live and do as they wish, not as God says. Rejecting God and what He says they go about doing their own thing. They rebel against God and His commandments, living lawless and unrighteous lives. What is lawlessness? It is taking license...

  • with the law and righteousness
  • with morality and discipline

It is neglect of or opposition to the law of God; it is substituting the will of self in the place of God's will (1 John 3:4). It is looking to self or to the world instead of looking to God. It is following the course of self and the desires of self instead of following the course of God. (See POSB Deeper Study #1—[SUP]§[/SUP]Matthew 7:23 for discussion.)

It's the very thing the HG'ers are proclaiming.....no laws to obey, no righteous works. Law-less.

Readers, be wary of those that skip major scriptures to prove their doctrine.

And this below is the difference between "works righteousness" and "faith righteousness" for salvation. ( as in going to be with the Lord when we die )

In the Old - you "did in order to get" In the New Covenant " you believe in order to receive" what Christ has already done. It's called the "word of faith" and it originates with believing in your heart and it's enacted by speaking.

This is where works-based salvationists have a hard time with the gospel of the grace of Christ through faith alone for salvation. They are mixing the covenants up and trying to do things in order to get and maintain salvation and righteousness.

The pure gospel of the grace of Christ is offensive to this mindset and thus they need to do things in order to establish and maintain their own righteousness for salvation just like it was commanded in the Old Covenant.

In the New Covenant we receive Christ's righteousness as a gift because we believe NOT because "we do".

Doing righteous deeds by themselves does not make one righteous. This is having the cart before the horse.

I know there have been "good" people doing "righteous deeds " but they were not belonging to God. Many religions have moral living people in them - all doing "righteous deeds".

Here is how righteousness is manifested to a believer....we need to be righteousness-conscious...not sin-conscious...we are a new creation in Christ now!

This "righteousness " that we already have now in our new creation ( the inner man ) is because we are in Christ - will manifest outwardly in doing righteous deeds - but we need the "horse" in front first.

The "horse" being Christ's righteousness in us because of our being in Christ in our inner man..our new creation in Christ.

Awake to who you are in Christ!..Awake to righteousness and sin not..when you see who you are in Him in your new man..you become like Him outwardly.

2 Corinthians 3:17-18 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
[SUP]18 [/SUP] But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

Hebrews 5:13 (NASB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant.

Romans 5:17 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 54:14 (NASB)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] "In righteousness you will be established; You will be far from oppression, for you will not fear; And from terror, for it will not come near you.

2 Corinthians 5:21 (NASB)
[SUP]21[/SUP] He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

When you see who you are in Christ because of His finished work...you become outwardly in behavior what you are truly like in your new inner man where Christ dwells.

Readers, be wary of those that skip major scriptures to prove their doctrine.

we see this happening today, Many churches are becoming apostate. and leading many to outer darkness.

However. This does not mean an induvidual can lose eternal life.

But hey, If you think you can earn it, Feel free. Keep preaching your legalism. You will have to answer to God for that..

Me and my house, We will serve God, Preach the GOOD NEWS (not the not so good news you want to preach) based on the HOPE that is in Jesus christ (not the psuedo hope you want to teach) and that God is a God who keeps his promises (not the god that gives people eternal life, and the seal of the spirit saying it is bound in him until the day of redemption, knowing (or not knowing whatever the case) he will have to take it back at a later date. thus making him a liar.

Oh and PS, your a liar, or decieved about what we teach, neither of which is very nice,
We do preach obedience, My church has even excommunicated people who try to live in sin and do not repent as scripture states.

We just do not preach legalistic, earn your own salvation, self righteousness like others wish to teach.

again, to Love Him is to obey Him.

And again, You can say that over and over, it does not mean what I said is not true.

We CAN NOT LOVE HIM (thus can not obey him) UNTIL HE FIRST LOVES US (saves us, we experience his personal unconditional love based on his saving grace and mercy given to our mortal souls)

So UNLESS and UNTIL someone is saved, They can not be obedient period.. Thay can fool themselves into thinking they love God, But their love is a false love, Because as the bible says plainly

WE LOVE BECAUSE HE FIRST LOVED US.
