I looked up my name on pipl.com (after having deleted most of my online presence) to check if I still have info on there. And holy nuts, my education and career history is even there. Ugh. Even my physical address is there. Gosh, the internet is scary. Wish I was smarter when I was younger. It's such a hassle.
For real!

I wanted to call my friend in Arkansas about something. Couldn't call his cell because AT&T doesn't cover his house, couldn't call his home phone because I didn't know the number. So I googled his name and home town and state, and google gave me the number. I called him up and, after a bit of shock, he said, "Uh... how did you get this number?"

See, he's a retired cop. The phone is in his wife's name specifically so people he used to arrest wouldn't call him up. So when I called him up out of the blue, and when I said google gave me the number, it made him a bit nervous...

To embed a pic in a post:

1) Click on where u want the pic to be in your reply window (just like if u were gonna type something)
2) Copy the image's address/url (and it has to end in either .jpg, .png or .gif)
3) Click on the picture icon/symbol shown in at the top of the post window (second row down, next to the globes)
4) Paste the image's url into the window that pops up.
5) Click "ok" in that popup window. That's it!

To post a link, just copy and paste it. No need to use the hyperlink button (blue globe button next to the pic symbol).

To post a gif animation:

Same as posting a pic (above) except step 4 1/2 would be to uncheck the box that says retreive remote file and reference locally
Ever helpful. What would we do without you?

Very tasteless. I'm also not surprised. I used to work as an Underwriting assistant for a life insurance company. Part of my job was to order medical records and call sales agents for information that was missed on the application or shady information. They had a lot of sales agents in Manhattan and surrounding areas. A few of them were pretty sneaky not so nice people. One of them sent in a little bigger than usual batch of applications. I went through them and called and asked if they were all from him or were some from other agents that worked with him. He said they're all from him and I said, wow you had a good week! Then he says, 9/11 was a great incentive to get people to buy insurance. I just sort of push that this won't be the last terrorist attack and you have to protect your family. I had no words. This wasn't to long maybe just a couple of months after it happened. :(
Oh, that's awful!

I gained so much weight after I had my kid's and when I broke my ankle. When I was home with them I ate, then when I was home during the ankle break I ate. That's how I deal with stress, I eat. I hid everything under scrubs that Inused to wear at my old job, those are like Pajamas. Then like you I started hating jeans. I would buy large t shirts and comfy loose yoga pants. I also don't like to spend a lot of money on clothes, I try find discount racks and thrift stores. I would love to go without a budget and just buy what I want. It does feel good to look nice and not feel like I look sickly or lazy. Lazy is also nice but it's good to feel pretty too. :)
I gained almost 50 lbs. when I was pregnant with my son. An unhealthy amount, I know. I was not even thinking about my diet with that pregnancy, and I was brought home WAY too much pizza. I didn't even fit in maternity clothes that last month. So I just stayed in my PJs. I was trying hard to lose the weight, and was still in maternity pants, when I got pregnant by surprise this time. So I kind of gave up on losing. However, I started eating healthier this time, so the first little bit, I actually lost quite a bit. I'm 7 months now, and only up 11 lbs from the weight I gave them in the beginning.
But anyway. I haven't been back into "normal clothes" for 2 years now, because I've been pregnant and dealing with baby fat, and pregnant again.
I totally get the stress eating thing though. That was a big reason I gained so much with my boy.
I don't like spending a lot on clothes either, which is a big reason I don't have any now, lol. I still need to revamp my wardrobe, because I haven't touched it in the longest time.
The best way to shop for clothes, is going to thrift stores first, and then get what you couldn't get, at other stores. That's what I do anyway, and it saves me tons. Though admittedly, I've only shopped for my kid's clothes lately.

My kid's go to a Montessori school they do things differently then most schools. If they get into trouble they have this room called the peace room. They go into this nice air conditioned room and talk about what they did and why they did it and what they can do differently next time. Yesterday my Son thought he either lost his math sheet or left it at school. I was helping him look for it. He didn't seem to stressed about so I totally forgot about it. Tonight my Husband asked him if he found it at school? He said, no, I forgot she told us just to work on our spelling homework and study for our test. Then my Husband said, oh ok, then you didn't have to go to the peace room. I said, I wish someone would send me to the peace room. It sounds pleasant to me.

Teaching at a montessori pre-school is a lot of fun. Maria's philosophy's are quite distinct from her fellow educators in terms of setting boundaries and consequences.

It seems like this pregnancy is going well for you. I gained about twenty with each child, I really didn't get very big. Mostly I had to deal with my feet and legs swelling badly. My first full term pregnancy I was 34 and when my son was born I was 35. I was so sick through my first trimester that I couldn't eat. When I got pregnant with my Daughter I had no idea that I was pregnant until I was 4 months along. I went to the doctor because I thought something was wrong with me because things weren't happening as they should. The Doctor said, well you're pregnant about 5 months. I didn't gain weight, I was tired a lot but I had a 5 month old baby at home so I just figured it was because of that. I was really surprised . My Husband said, yeah I was pretty sure you were pregnant. I'm was like what? He said well you shouldn't be surprised, but I was. That pregnancy was a piece of cake, so easy. The hard part came when I had a one year old and a newborn. My Son had this funny habit of hitting things when he'd say what they were. Like Momma and he'd slap my arm. He learned to say baba, that was baby. He came up to her and said baba and smacked her head, so the baba was strapped to me almost all the time so she wouldn't get slapped by her brother. It was a trying year. It's funny how I can look back now and laugh. One time when my Daughter was 3 and my Son was 4 I took them to have their photo taken. We lived about 3 miles from the place. They were dressed up really cute. Well one of them found a ketchup packet in the car and they both wanted to hold it so they started fighting over it and hitting each other. I had to pull over and pry the ketchup packet out of my Son's fist. It was the most exhausting three mile ride ever, lol.

Don't blame yourself, Abi. Even my info showed up when I did a search on a couple of those sites and I've always been super careful with my personal info.

I really like their school and I'm very happy that we decided to send them there. They love school, they learn so much and it's very much a community. I think the methods of teaching are wonderful. I highly reccomend Montessori education.

I know a little about Montessori education. How do you reconcile some of their philosophies with the Christian faith?

I just searched my name and clicked the icon for my state. Apparently I don't exist.

Fantastic. I started out teaching in a Montessori school, and although I thoroughly enjoyed it, I moved onto teaching student with special needs, my experience with those principles set me up so well for what my roles in the education field today.

I'm not quite sure what you mean. Maria Montessori was a Roman Catholic I do know that. It's not a Chrisitian school so I don't really tie the two together. I like the method's of teaching. I have no problem with Christian schools, I work for a Christian Pre-School but I feel that this method is better than the traditional class room that I grew up in. I've never thought about her philosophy and our faith.
