We receive Salvation by the Grace of God. How can you lose our Salvation by sinning if we received it as a Gift from God?
2 Peter 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

To make my angle clearer, it says following the law (through order, told) means you fall from grace but are saved by Christ's righteousness. Following it by choice for self-improving is OK in my opinion to better oneself as a guide. Otherwise, we are saying do the law because Christ might not be enough. Sinning cannot be sin if we are eternally forgiven, and Jewish sins are forgotten?

So what are we to know what is right or wrong, unless we learn the law, at least?

What are we to do if good works do not improve our chances of being saved if we are eternally saved?

Trying to saves souls, unless you become a priest, if your allowed, trained, qualified, is near impossible for an average person unless we all live travellers lives, giving up all.

Do we just carry on, pray, and wait for the gifts at the end. This seems wrong, so what? Try to better ourselves even though most of us are depressed, failing and or suicidal. Alot to ask, but not much compared to crucifixion. It seems impossible to know what to do other than just pray, hoping in faith that God will do something?

This is my confusion.
Are you Catholic ?

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. John 16:13a

Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
John 8:32

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.
1 John 1:8-10

Honestly we have to learn from God Himself through His word. There are so many different ideas on this site on how to walk with God correctly, but someone can never know who is correct until they learn from God themselves.

Hello I have been confused about a few issues for a while. Maybe others have too.

The problem is understanding the most realistic answers. Jesus said to a woman he healed, sin no more, when he was alive before rising, so wouldn't he say this anyway as she would be under the old testament. Not the new one after death? The old testament we could not adhere to? so the new testament of repentance, transforms us from sinners into not able to sin Christians, because once under blood, never out. But then what is judgement of a Christian, actions, faith, teachers being held to higher scrutiny? Catholic/ evangelist etc. So confusing. Any explanation appreciated, thanks.

My two cents... I would suggest that portion of scripture as a parable is used to help us have a spiritual understanding hidden from those who do not mix faith (the unseen as to whatever is in view). It finds it meaning when comparing the spiritual words of that parable to another parable found in Jerimiah 17.

We find that God uses two different opposing media’ s. Names written in a book, and names written in the dust as to where all return seeing it is where natural man without the Spirit of Christ is formed from returns to.

Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

The kind of fathers under their own kind of law called the “law of the fathers” as a false zeal for God had forgotten from where they came from even knowing the heart or conscience of man without the spirit is simply a judgement hall that either accuses them or excuses them. as in desperately wicked who could know it?

The older to the younger left.as the younger followed the lead the elder who I think most likely had their conscience pricked and were reminded of the Jeremiah account. They walked away in unbelief as he wrote their names in the dust..

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me “shall be written in the earth”, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters. er 17:9

While those kind of fathers were used to describe those who forsake the living waters the woman caught in adultery perhaps she was remarried like the woman at the well who is said to have five husbands both found the living waters of forgiveness. It was unlawful according to the law of the fathers for woman to remarry for in doing so they say she was committing adultery.

That's confusing too. If once a Christian, then you reject Christ, aren't you under the blood forever anyway?
We are to abide in Christ all who don't are cast into a fire and burned. Like I said we have to learn from God all of Hos word to us.

To believe in Christ we see (metaphorically) Him as the beautiful and loving redeemer that He is and we never want to leave Him and our lives are changed forever

Well it is more complex that what I wrote but the bottom line is that God is to be obeyed completely and that salvation is not something to take lightly.

I'm sorry I have not been back, depressed. About this point, I am not a knowledgeable person in Christianity. This reply is very confusing to me. The words seem phrased from the king James Bible which I find hard to understand. I have an NIV Bible fresh Bible. But because I know little, I do not know where in the Bible it explains this issue.

I find it saddening, that it seems I should do more and give up everything as a rich man will unlikely enter heaven. I am not rich and live at home. But I feel richer than I should. But what should I do. Give away everything, leave home, become an unqualified travelling preacher and maybe die in a cold winter. I'm not exaggerating. Or do I just talk online helping no-one but people who are already Christian who are probably failing too?

This is how hard it is. I know nothing, and have nothing visible to do except go to church, read the Bible, be nice, maybe give money to someone (who's appropriately best) and talk here, quietly like a failure? What to do?

First thing to look at is the law condemns, It paces us under a curse, so no one can save themselves. No matter how much work they do. The penalty of sin is death. The curse of the law is death.

I can;t save a soul, Only God can A priest can no more save a soul than any other man..

As for gifts Ge to know God. You will ask for a gift in his will. And you may have one and not even know it. We all will not get the famous gifts, If we did, great, If not, Thats great also. God has a plan for us.

ECC. 12:13.
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: fear God and keep His Commandments:
for this is the whole duty of man...

This "woman" you are speaking of.............are you referring to the woman caught in adultery? The one about to be stoned?

If so, then you should have noticed the sin Jesus forgave her of..............

As well, how do you come up with the idea that sin isn't sin if it is forgiven? If sin isn't sin, what would be the need to forgive it? Is this a back door attempt to justify OSAS?

If Christ is on earth forgiving a woman of sin, though I don't remember sin being mentioned other than to not do it (healing) , this may break his own rules of sacrifice for forgiveness under the old testament, before his rising again? Confused.

If the blood of Jesus was not shed yet,how can the woman be forgiven,so it must be that Jesus forgave her,but it would not be washed away until He shed His blood, and Jesus told her to go and sin no more,so if she engaged in the same sin,the blood of Christ cannot wash it away,so it is essential that she sin no more, which the Bible says if we hold unto a sin,not wanting to give it up,then the blood of Christ cannot wash it away, for the person does not want to let it go,and God is not going to wash away the sin if the person holds unto it.

Luk 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

Although Jesus forgave the disciples of their sins,Peter was still not converted until Jesus' blood was shed, which is when his sins were washed away,so the woman was forgiven, but it was not washed away, off her record, until Jesus' blood was shed.

I'm not as fully convinced of that as the rest of the OSAS group seems to be, and have had my share of head-butting with members of my own congregation over that point.

Most of us have the same problem:

To quote the word of Earl Rademacher:

“I have been saved; I am being saved; and, I will be saved.”

The three tenses of "Being Saved"

We have been saved: positionally from the penalty of sin (Eph 2:8, 9). This is often called justification salvation.

We are being saved: from the power of sin, operationally, by the Holy Spirit, moment by moment (Rom 6). This is usually called sanctification.

We shall be saved: from the presence of sin; after the resurrection, often called glorification, or “the redemption of our body” (Rom 8:23).

Hmm............

An interesting perspective...........think this is the first time I have seen it.

:)

Sinning as a Christian is transgression, not sin, as you only repent for forgiveness, also as a Christian you are under the blood so sin affects you, but is not in you anymore. Otherwise you'll be saying sin is in Christ, maybe?

Wow.. I have been trying to read and understand your posts.. Sadly i cannot...

transgression against the will of God is sin..

repenting is acknowledging ones sins...

Jesus being God can forgive sins when ever He wills... He paid for the sins on the cross after.. He paid for the sins of all mankind through all history..

This is also confusing, because, wouldn't Christ have no need to say sin no more before his resurrection, if all historical sin's of believers are washed away at the resurrection. Wouldn't he say, now repent of any sin you commit, repent from your heart. Even if the woman died before his resurrection. Or is it said sin no more because he was not resurrected yet, so repentance was not an option because she was still under the old testament law?
