I wonder why so many rhymes and stories for children are so brutal :p
That's true. Like Jack and Jill... Jack falls and breaks his skull. Also, I heard that the old "ring around the rosie" song was about kids dying during the plague.

I was at the grocery store with my son last night and was going to buy some mayo. I asked him if he liked Miracle Whip instead and he replied "Miracle Whip, Miracle Nae Nae". I busted out laughing :)

I've also heard the claim about ring around the rosies , but after some research it seems to be a myth

when i hand out the clipboard to a new patient to fill out forms, 99% of the time, i tell them it's 2 pages front and back.

60% of the time, they don't follow instructions.

Watching Soylent Green was one of my early childhood traumas. I was seven or so, and my parents went to see it and dragged my brother and I along to the drive-in because they didn't want to pay for a baby sitter. I had nightmares for weeks.
Great. Now I have to go google that movie.

I have a drawer in my jewelry box where I keep my children's baby teeth that have fallen out. That's not creepy or anything is it?
My brother has kept every tooth he's ever lost (he's 10 now). In a little jar.

I shudder that the mere thought of Miracle Whip.

And BTW, your new avatar makes me hungryyyy.
Liked mayonnaise until about 4 years old. Got a jar out of my grandma's icebox and started eating it like it was ice cream...

Don't like mayonnaise any more, much less the smell of the stuff.

My Daughter just turned 10 on September 8th and she lost a tooth. She put her tooth under her pillow and I forgot to put a quarter under there. She told me that it was still there. I said, well Edna the tooth fairy got busy last night. She'll be here this afternoon. She said, come on Mom I know it's you, lol.

That's mainly why my brother kept his teeth, so that next time we go visit the grandparents he could trade them in for money. He always forgets, though, so the jar is still laying around the house.

The adjustment period for some anti-depressant and anti-psychotic medications is very....taxing to my patience and tolerance for many things many others would consider no big deal.

Seeing ignorant Facebook status updates on my newsfeed like these make me super angry. I am receiving a master's in education because I believe everyone has a right to education and I have such a passion to make a change in students lives. Seeing this shows the ignorance of some people.

I currently work in education. People don't realize that my day does NOT end after my 9 hour shift. In fact, it continues. I'm spending money out of my own pocket for curriculum, I'm working on curriculum, I'm looking up ways on how I can help a child who is struggling WITH the said curriculum. I am loving the ones who seem to be unlovable by others, and showing that I believe in them. I'm doing work that I'm not being PAID for....and it's stressful, but it's what I want to do to be successful for my students. My life does not end when I clock out. People who post these status updates wouldn't HAVE an education if it weren't for teachers.

Sure, there are a few teachers out there that are out there that ARE lazy, who are incompetent. But, being a person who wants to see a change in young people's lives, it makes my blood boil.

You are educated because there's someone who believes in YOU, who wants to see YOU succeed. Call me lazy, call me as if I don't have a job, but that is far from the truth.

Some days you're the bus, and some days you're the puddle. Today is a puddle day. I was avoiding calling a client, expecting an earful, so I emailed him instead. His response clearly explained the issue, which was something I apparently neglected to write down. To paraphrase Tom Clancy, if it isn't written down, it never happened. :/ Lesson learned.

Happy birthday to her! Did she have a fun day?
I don't know for sure, lol. She didn't tell me. I was tired all day, so I wasn't much of a party planner for her. I ended up just getting her a piece of the cheese cake I already had, and putting candles in the one piece. It wasn't a party, it was just a piece of cake.
