Well, you might have something there with "strong drink"..... but to say "wine" is alcoholic is merely an assumption, if that's what you're trying to show.

Lemme show you some other scriptures:

Isaiah 5:11 (KJV)
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!

[HR][/HR]Isaiah 28:7 (KJV)
[SUP]7 [/SUP]But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.

[HR][/HR]Isaiah 56:12 (KJV)
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.

[HR][/HR]Notice these verses use wine & strong drink interchangibly? They seem to indicate alcoholic wine is a strong drink, don't they?
One at a time. Isaiah 56:12. What is the wine for if they are filling themselves with strong drink?. Why even "fetch wine" so they can "fill themselves with strong drink?"

Well, God is talking about His holy People Vs 21. SO I am with you, study, study study it out. I have My opinion and have studied it........the reason I studied it out is because the 'church' I attended said drinking is a sin. But someone(LOVE him, good friend) pointed this verse out to me.

Really, one doesn't even need to study it out. It just shows the noose that a pastor or teacher has thrown around our neck.
Are you going to be convinced by an OT scripture? Most armchair theologians on here proclaim "we no longer follow the OT". :p
Did you know "strong drink" is used only once in the NT, & that was for John the Baptist, who was commanded by God to be a Nazarite?

It seems to say that "wine" used here is strong drink.

What bothers me with all this fussing about all wine being alcoholic is nobody noticed "grape juice" isn't listed anywhere in the Bible. Any idiot could have went on Google & found that out. Why do you suppose it isn't there?

Isaiah 28:7~~ "they are swallowed up in wine" How can grape juice do that?........And if you look in to this verse a little. they were using the alcoholic wine that was supposed to be used for the temple service to get drunk.

This is why I never drink wine. I just stick to beer.

Ok..... notice the following verse:Isaiah 28:8 (NASB)
[SUP]8 [/SUP]For all the tables are full of filthy vomit, without a single clean place.
That doesn't sound like a properly kept place. The priests could have brought alcohol in the temple when they shouldn't. In Ezekiel 8, they were in one of the rooms worshipping idols.

How can they be "swallowed up in wine" if it was grape juice?

It was full of vomit and not clean because they were drunk and puking all over.

Why don't you answer? If the wine was just grape juice, why are they "swallowed up by wine?"

Can we just get together in one place to discuss this... it would make it so much easier face to face. I suggest the local pub. ;)
