Which songs have made you cry (or at least choke up a little) over the years? They don't necessarily have to be sad songs. Here are mine:

"Hearts" - Marty Balin
"He Stopped Loving Her Today" - George Jones
"Dust in the Wind" - Kansas
"Mohogany. (Do You Know?)" - Diana Ross
"Lucky Man" - Emerson, Lake and Palmer
"Leader of the Pack" - Shangri-Las
"Seasons in the Sun" - Terry Jacks
"Chiseled in Stone" - Vern Gosdin.
"Same Old Lang Syne" - Dan Fogelberg.
"Don't Let it End" - Styx
"In Pictures" - Alabama
"8th of November" - Big & Rich
"I Won't Hold You Back" - Toto
"Very Special Love" - Alabama
"Could it be Magic?" - Barry Manilow
"When You Leave That Way" - Confederate Railroad
"Wichita Lineman" - Glen Campbell
"Wishing You Were Here" - Chicago/Beach Boys
"Muskrat Love" - Captain and Tennille.
"All About Soul" - Billy Joel
"Piano Man" ^see above^
"Crimson and Clover" - Tommy James and the Shondells.

In the ghetto: Elvis Presley
She's Leaing Home: Beatles
This Boy: Beatles
Elinor Rigby: Beatles

Yeah I know it's something about their lyrics. I agree with your choice of Wishing You Were Here: Chicago/Beach Boys, there is a good TV performance of them singing this on YouTube.

How about:
Honey - Bobby Goldsbrough
Oh and that one - "please wait at the gates of Heaven for me Terry"? Who sings that one?

Little Wonders by Rob Thomas

Angle by Francesca Batestelli (probably spelled that wrong)

And Better Than a Hallelujah by Amy Grant

I liked 'Little Wonders'. I heard it on the soundtrack of an animated Disney film "Meet the Robinsons." It was a wonderful little family film set in the future.

A staff member at the camp I do training at it told me to listen to it and I have never been able to listen to it without crying lol

Gravity by Sara Bareilles is the saddest song to me.

I would also throw in:

Stars - Grace Potter
My Immortal - Evanescence
Creep - Radiohead
Almost Lover - A Fine Frenzy
I Cried For You - Katie Melua

Probably lots of songs have pulled on my heart strings over the years, since I am a very sentimental person :p One I can say for sure that assisted in the flow of tears is River by Natalie Merchant. That song of hers helped me to grieve the passing of someone I considered my soul mate.

Superstar - Carpenters

Have you heard Sonic Youth's cover of Superstar? Its really good, you should check it out.

And I dunno if it makes me cry so much, but it definitely gives me that like goosebumps on the back of the neck feeling-

The melody seems to have a big effect on me : p

Radiohead's "Weird Fishes" has a similar effect on me. Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart" used to, but I think I got tired of hearing it after awhile : p
