You guys are REALLY specific. Does it really come down to one line or knowing who one character is?

Actually it would be fun to date someone who doesnt know who my favorite character is, cuz then I get to enjoy introducing her to the character : p

I wouldnt mind at all if she didnt know her or whatever. Though if she like legitimately hated her Id probly think shes kinda lame : p (I think it would be fair to say shed clearly feel the same about me, before anyone decides to take offense to that : p)

Nah, I've got lots of stuff to choose from. I just used DUNE because it's a simple example.

I joked once many years ago that I could sort out a good partner if she could pick up on movie quotes and such. If I was cooking something in the kitchen and was grinding up a spice rub for the meat and she'd say "the spice must flow", that would probably do a little something for me.
Plans within plans within plans. (I think that was in the book, but maybe it was only in the movie).

Yes and no, references to a specific character or show or book are kind of feelers to see if you have similar interests and tastes. But if a person doesn't know them, then their reaction also gives you a glimpse of how that person handles not knowing what's going on and interacts with things they aren't familiar with. Showing interest in learning about what I bring up would get a guy bonus points, while being dismissive or ignoring the question completely would probably not look so good.
