In the last days when evil runs rampant, make sure you are able to discern the works wrought in GOD from the works which are not. Even though the law will give you the written permission to do certain things, make sure you know of whose spirit you truly claim you are of

fir in the last days it will be made manifest those who did from those who did not

good response, however I wish not to appease the law, but rather express my love of the One who called me ,through my obedience. the gift He gives to all is beyond anything this world has to offer, and all can do is surrender my will to His in obedience to what he has clearly commanded all who are His. every house has its rules, not for control but for protection.

1 John 1:8-10, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us."

1 John 3:4, "Whoever commits sin, transgresses also the Law; for sin is the transgression of the Law."

Romans 4:15, "because the law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression."
That was a complete misunderstanding of Romans 4

See what happens when someone takes one verse out of context?
I suggest we all re read Romans 4. We seem to have forgotten something very important

As believers in Messiah, we can appreciate the power of pray.

In this verse, what is the author really saying?

He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law,
even his prayer [shall be] abomination.
Proverbs 28:9 (KJV, MBM)

I think the Hebrew word for "hearing" in this verse is (shaw-mah'}, which implies not just hearing, but hearing and obeying.

My brothers and sisters in Messiah, what are your thoughts?

My thoughts are this:

4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. (from Gal. 4)

In Christ, we are no longer servants of the Law, but sons and co-heirs with Christ:

6 Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba,Father.” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir. (from Gal. 4)

That passage in Proverbs was written to those born under the Law.

That's not those in Christ.

Here's the position of those who are in Christ to the Law:

  • Those in Christ are dead to the Law, having no relationship with the Law whatsoever (see Romans 7)

The implication of the OP is that if you, as a believer in Christ, do not hear and obey the Law given to Israel at Sinai, God won't listen to your prayers. Even worse, your prayers are an ABOMINATION to God!!!

Yet in the New Covenant
we see this:

14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (from Heb. 4)

Time to start accurately handling the word of truth, Disciplemike.

Then say it
Dont we all understand "thy will be done"?
if we say HE is sovereign then what are we supposed to do in all seasons ( in seasons of sun and in seasons of rain)?

Here we are talking about and suggesting and implying who's doing and who is not doing

wait and see who really is doing

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." (2 Timothy 4:3-4)

"Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth." (2 Timothy 3:7)

My brothers and sisters in Messiah, what are your thoughts?

I think it is prety simple.

If you do not hear the law. You will not understand your sinfulness, and thus never be led to Christ.

If your not a child of God. God will never hear your prayer.

The only prayer God will hear is a prayer of repentance which leads to salvation..

John (Yahchanan) 7:16-17 "Yahshua answered, them, and said: My doctrine is not Mine, but His Who sent Me. If any man will do His will, he will know about this teaching--whether it comes from YHWH, or whether I am speaking of My own authority."

Matt 5:18, "For truly I say to you; Unless heaven and earth passes away, one yodh--the smallest of the letters--will in no way pass from the Law, until all things are perfected."

Mattithyah 5:18-19, "For truly I say to you; Unless heaven and earth passes away, one yodh--the smallest of the letters--will in no way pass from the Law, until all things are perfected. Whosoever, therefore, will break one of the least of these Laws, and will teach men so, he will be called the least in the Kingdom of YHWH; but whosoever will do and teach them, the same will be called great in the Kingdom of YHWH."

Mattithyah 22:36-40, "Teacher, what is the greatest commandment in the Law? Yahshua said to him: You must love YHWH your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."

why is it so hard to believe that Christ fulfilled all of God's commandments according to the gospel? a new commandment i give you john says, is to believe in the name of the Lord Jesus! have you ever wondered what believing in the name of Jesus means?

no it was not!!!
Yes it was!!!

Now how about posting allbof Romans 4?
whar happened toothed person who was big happy because I only mention the book and chapter but never post the whole if it?

go ahead. Post it so we can all review it together

and rhe us any S to call unclean what GOD ALONE had made clean?
not to take HIS GRACE and call as skme diet of free license to sin (as many accuse) big to find out what pleases the LORD and to be at peace with all men as much as it is in our ability to docso

blessed the man to whom GIS credits righteousness to....apart from the law!

half the story a portion of the story will always be half of the story a portion of the story

It's a shame that those who create threads who get opposing arguments from those who maintain that we are justified by faith, that somehow translates to DISOBEDIENCE!

It doesnt!
but men are free to accuse all they want
GOD will judge

let GOD be true and every man a liar

I believe that those who refuse to listen to the law, even their prayers are false and mock the Lord,
That may be what the verse ment:)
you have no prayer life apart from Christ! if you don't believe that God hears your prayers based on Christ's salvific work and not on the bases of you obeying His laws, then i can boldly say that God has never heard your prayers!! you may have the delusion in thinking that he does but he doesn't. God sees and hears NO ONE outside of His Son!! " God who at many times and in various manners spoke in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken unto us by His son who he has appointed heir of all things..( Heb 1:1-2)"

Yes it was!!!

(But will NEVER post just a smidgen!)

and who is us anyone to call unclean what GOD ALONE had made clean?

not that we take HIS GRACE and call as some sort of free license to sin (as many accuse) but to find out what pleases the LORD and to be at peace with all men as much as it is in our ability to do so
