If I could post one of those little videos of someone doing double takes and asking "What did you say?"
This is where I'd put it.

Jesus Himself recognized Abraham's covenant when He went to heal a woman that was bent over for 18 years. He said - shouldn't this woman seeing that she is a daughter of Abraham whom satan has bound for 18 years be loosed on this Sabbath day?

Luke 13:16 (NASB)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] "And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this bond on the Sabbath day?"

I noticed it was just because she was a daughter of Abraham that had given her the right to be released from her sickness. Jesus did not go over all the commandments of the Law to see if she qualified for being released according to the law.

Jesus dealt with her based on Abraham's covenant because the Mosaic Covenant does not nullify the Abrahamic one Galatians says. Abraham's covenant was based totally on the grace of God unlike the law of Moses.

Galatians 3:16-17 (NASB)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say, "And to seeds," as referring to many, but rather to one, "And to your seed," that is, Christ.

[SUP]17 [/SUP] What I am saying is this: the Law, which came four hundred and thirty years later, does not invalidate a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to nullify the promise.

all the covenants belong to ISRAEL.

Biblical fact.

Except for the New Covenant.

It was the New Covenant for Israel, having set the Old Covenant aside, and it's the ONLY Covenant for Gentiles, who were foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world:

11 Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands)—12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

14 For he himself is our peace,
who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15 by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, 16 and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. 17 He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. 18 For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers,
but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. As believers in Messiah, we can appreciate the power of pray.

In this verse, what is the author really saying?

I think the Hebrew word for "hearing" in this verse is (shaw-mah'}, which implies not just hearing, but hearing and obeying.

My brothers and sisters in Messiah, what are your thoughts?

I think another way to say it would be...

Anyone that does not acknowledge the will of God, even praying for that which is not the will of God, is displeasing to the Lord.

I know I used to pray for things without even asking if they were God's will until he corrected me of this.

Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they broke, although I was a husband unto them, saith the LORD:
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Right . . . the New Covenant was New for Israel, as promised, replacing the Old ("it will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers), and it's the ONLY covenant for Gentiles.

Your point?

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments,
and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven:

but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great
in the kingdom of heaven.

Looks to me like they are still saved.

you have no clue what I do or do not understand... when you lawless ones learn to stop rebelling against the clear and Holy commands our Creator gave us then maybe you will learn to stop accusing others of not understanding what you apparently do not.

Careful now, you don't want to get angry lest you commit sin and loose your salvation.

I'm thankful. Because of Jesus, my prayers are heard. Praise God.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to FreeNChrist again.

You are exactly right, FreeNChrist:

2 Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for you, 3 that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly. 4 In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, 5 which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets. 6 This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus. (from Eph. 3)

25 I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness— 26 the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people. 27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

28 He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom,so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. 29 To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me. (from Col. 1)

love it when it is backed by scripture. Who can argue??

your reasoning does not actually fit with scripture

first of all, there is only ONE penalty for ALL sin

that penalty is death

there are many different sacrifices for sins in the OT (for whichever sin was committed )

the sacrifices could never actually achieve forgiveness however as the blood of bulls and goats cannot atone for human sin

as the OT is clear on that, why don't you know that?

their is only ONE sacrifice that gives depredation and that is the sacrifice of Jesus

so, just to help you out here in your understanding, once again:

ALL sin results in death...separation from God...

NO animal sacrifice redeems mankind

ONE sacrifice redeems all mankind and is available by accepting Christ as YOUR substitute...something NO animal ever achieved

Amen,

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

In Fact, David understood, The sacrifice and burnt offering did not remove one sin.

Psalm 40:6
Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; My ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.

Psalm 51:16
For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering.

as reiterated by the author of hebrews.

Hebrews 10:5
[ Christ’s Death Fulfills God’s Will ] Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me.

Hebrews 10:8
Previously saying, “Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the law),

In fact, Hebrews said the blood of bulls and goats did not remove one sin from one person ever,

Hebrews 10:4
For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.

But the law. As told by Paul Was a symbol, a sign, a tutor to lead first Israel to christ (when he came) and us to christ. and that was it period!

Gal 3: 19 - 25
[SUP]19 [/SUP]What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator. [SUP]20 [/SUP]Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one.

[SUP]21 [/SUP]Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. [SUP]22 [/SUP]But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. [SUP]23 [/SUP]But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. [SUP]24 [/SUP]Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. [SUP]25 [/SUP]But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.

my point is your mistaken claim that the new covenant was not with Israel, these verse I posted say different , I guess you missed that part.

all the covenants belong to ISRAEL.

Biblical fact.

No not all

The covenant made with noah was for all the world. The adamic covenant was made to all the world. and the covenant Christ made with the cross belongs to all the world. Not even ALL of the abrahamic covenant was just for Isreal (in you shall ALL THE NATIONS be blessed)

One could say in technicality, that this proves it because Israel is part of the world. But one also knows this is not what you meant..
