Where are you getting this from?
And no, no one fights over Texas cuz everyone knows states like that aren't ever changing
Luckily they are staying out of Texas.

I can't see Texas ever becoming DemocraticLuckily they are staying out of Texas.
Historically yes... but there are always chances to break away from the norm.
Hi Natania.
Here's a picture describing our electoral process in a nutshell.
![]()
You can get win the popular vote but still lose the general election. How do our votes matter again?
I live in a state they fight over..... we have 13 votes. Not a big state.
My state, Florida has 29 electoral votes and is always being contended for.
Since every state gets two extra votes, because they have two senators, it levels the playing field a little bit for the underpopulated states. If I lived in an underpopulated state (and I do), I would enjoy the slight advantage.Yes,
I will use Colorado.
We currently have 7 Representatives in the house, and of course two Senators so we have 9 Electoral votes.
Now, take Texas who currently has.... 34ish (don't quote me on that)
Votes.
So right now; Colorado is still pretty small and unimportant compared to Texas so that just doesn't make sense.
It is not giving smaller states any advantage.
We are still insignificant
If you lived in an underpopulated state, you might enjoy the two extra votes the electoral college gives you.Exactly. That makes any attempts at explaining the "fairness" of the system bogus to me.

Each state gets two extra votes no matter whether they are huge or tiny, and that is an advantage for a smaller state, even if not a large one. Indeed, the bigger states would never have signed onto this, had the advantage been too big. Those two little votes gives an advantage to everyone no matter the size and even if you do have two extra for a little state if you are being honest you are pretty insignificant compared to the larger populated states.
