Oh I will have to tell my mother. She loves anything to do with sky watching. Ive stood out in snow in -20c degrees to watch something happening in the sky with her. lol
Same here! My husband used to drive my kids & me up to the hills and we'd lay on blankets shivering in bitter wintertime watching the meteor showers.

It is also the anniversary of the beginning day of the Ia Drang Valley battle in Nam; America's first major battle of that war. (7th Cav.... "We ere solders once, and young.")

When I lived in rural Pennsylvania near the Blue Mountain Range, my route to and from work was spectacular to see. One particular evening in either November or December of 2013, my breath was taken away by a phenomenal supermoon coming over the mountain. It was so awesome, I was thrilled and stunned at the same time. I could hardly drive, my eyes were so captivated but my heart was beating so fast at the sight.

Does that happen to anyone else here when they observe super cool natural phenomenon or an incredible event? I mean, I get absolutely astonished for a few seconds, my jaw literally drops open and I can hardly think when I view something that's too breathtaking. I have to turn away and gather my wits about me. LOL!! It also happens to me when a modern military jet does a low fly-by right over my head. I'm like, "Help. Me. Lord. That. Is. Way. Too. Awesome." Am I the only nutcase on CC who reacts that way to awesome spectacles?

It was by Mel Gibson: "We were Soldiers Once, and Young." (It was about my old unit. I've stood in a lot of the places in the movie.)
