I just realized that I've never heard an answer to a question I heard on a Tootsie Pop commercial on tv often when I was a kid. So, does anyone know how many licks it takes to get to the middle of a Toostse Pop?
Years ago, my son set out to discover this for himself. He counted each and every lick until we had the definitive answer.

Unfortunately, it was a long time ago, and I forgot what the answer was.

Weird full moon kind of night tonight. The schizophrenic lady who is a regular customer was really having a bad argument with whoever and The nosy lady who is also a regular customer started asking her why she didn't go to the Laundromat closer to her house and blah blah blah. It was loud and crazy, then my husband calls in the middle of all this to ask questions and then my regular Vietnamese man customer was in and as always asked me why all the machines were in use and why this and why that? Then my sweet customer who just picks up his laundry accidentally knocked over our log book and I had to put that all back together while the two ladies are arguing and the Vietnamese man was going on and one on to me about people who hog all the machines. You know what I did? I loudly said, ENOUGH! They all simmered down after that. CRAZY!!!

My goodness gracious me, the full moon really did bring out the crazies for you. Hope you've fully recovered!

It's snowing ....

The kind of snow that hasn't entirely made up it's mind whether to be sleet or snow.... for now it is turning the ground white though.
Ooooh, will you please post a few pretty snowy pictures for us? We don't see much snow in Central Texas. :p

I'm actually a stickler for good grammar. I admire well written passages of writing. They just sound better to my virtual ears and they seem to convey messages in a more polished tone. When someone writes an article using bad grammar it irks me and makes me wonder how that person ever became a journalist.

On the other hand, I can always tell when someone simply has limited english speaking skills. That doesn't bother me because I know they are doing their best. It's when someone ain't be doing their grammar right and all that gets me.
I hate it when people don't know the difference between "your" and "you're".

There so stupid. :(

Wow, thats alot of snow for early November : /

I live in Indiana, and we get alot of snow in the winter, but not this early : p Its not uncommon to start getting light snowfall around Thanksgiving, though.

Our snow wont start getting heavy until late December/ early January.

It's normally like that here as well, though there have been a few winters with snow from November through April.
let's hope that doesn't repeat :p

The picture of the trees reminds me of the Robert Frost poem:

"Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening"

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

I'm reminded of a Hi and Lois cartoon. The father and son are walking home on a snowy day and stop by a fence, and the father quotes the first part of that poem:

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

And their neighbor comes out with a shotgun.

EDIT: I found the cartoon! It's about a quarter of the way down the page on this site.

This is so picturesque. I hate winter and snow and dread every winter, but I will admit that freshly fallen snow ( especially when it covers tree branches) is very beautiful

Don't you hate it when you compliment a friend's mustache and then suddenly she's not your friend anymore?

In other news, the chemistry experiment had me figuratively glued to my seat... then it had me literally glued to my seat. :p

So I'm at home with mom cooking lunch. This young man knocks on the door and my mom answers. He asked her if she had voted yet and my mom said yes. Then he asks if she voted Democrat or Republican. My mom said that it was personal and she wasn't going to answer. He then left saying "have a good day."
Is this normal? And why did he want to know? Are there organizations going around asking this? I'm a little weirded out.

MollyConnor: Track him and see where he lives. Then knock on his door in the middle of breakfast and quiz him on whether he eats cold cereal, hot cereal, sausage/cheese/egg/biscuit or other more often.
