WOW..so sin is greater than Christ's righteousness and His blood?....Not a snowball's chance in hell.

Our righteousness is NOT based on us but it is Christ's righteousness alone. This is the fatal error of works-based salvationists mindsets which nullifies the grace of Christ from taking effect in our lives.

Much more! Pay attention to the much more of Christ's work over sin that is from Adam.

Romans 5:17 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.


Romans 5:20-21 (NASB)
[SUP]20 [/SUP] The Law came in so that the transgression would increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,


[SUP]21 [/SUP] so that, as sin reigned in death, even so grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Grace reigns ( acts as king and lord in our lives ) because of righteousness - and it is Christ's righteousness which is a gift. It is not something you earn or do to get.

Get this wrong and the whole gospel of the grace of Christ gets twisted to be a works-based religion of behavior modification program which really denies the work of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross and resurrection.

We need to have our minds renewed to the truth of the gospel so that we can walk free and have the life of Christ that is in us in our new creation in Christ be manifested outwardly to reflect the righteousness and holiness that is in us in our inner man. Eph. 4:24

Um, if your not grace alone, Your not born again.

So your whole reasoning is flawed.

If it is grace, it is NOT OF WORKS, otherwise grace is NO LONGER GRACE.

Grace minus works is grace alone

Takes those words, chew on them, fathom them, and then pray God will help you understand them.

I have to say when I wrote this, I thought it might not be true, lol.

On the plus side, I have often found the opposition bring inspiration in areas I would
never have looked.

It is often the case things one takes for granted they do not, and things one has
no problem with, it is their biggest point. So in a strange way they spur us on
to better things. Paul saw it in terms of the privilege of sharing in Christs
sufferings. It is not quite like that here, but I see the point.

Although you aren't talkin about me ...
why should I have any respect for people who refuse to acknowledge
the many dozens of God's warnings in the NT (when they are pointed out to them).

I say they are the tares (weeds) that Jesus' talks about being in the Kingdom.
He says they are NOT true believers and will be burned at the end of the age.

Believers who are habitually sinning are NOT true believers.
However, they can repent (change) and get their righteousness back again!

I talk a lot about our co-operation.
Some co-operation is involved.

Are you taking in grace as a license to sin? Cause the bible tells us it's not. Grace came with Jesus Christ. We agree on that, at least cause we use the same bible.

This is coming from what you'd call HG. I'll make an assumption here:

You and I believe that we are saved by grace thru faith alone.
You and I believe that the fruits of our salvation is holiness.
You believe that holiness is your effort (obedience, cooperation, etc).
I believe holiness naturally comes out of us as a fruit of our relationship with Jesus.
Thus, we both believe that living in habitual unrepentant sin is not from God. Why the accusation?

Also, by Adam's disobedience, death reigned and we all got cursed. No one on earth, with all his righteous works, could undo that. By Jesus' obedience, many were made righteous. Yet, one sin undoes all of that?

That is so messed up.

Another analogy. By Adam, we all became sinners (by nature). I could sacrifice a thousand lambs, but my nature remains the same, a sinner. By Jesus, there is the gift of righteousness and we were made new creations. Yet, one sin, changes all that?

Consider, rethinking that.

The jews did this.

They realised grace did not work. so they added works. and when christ came, the whole message of grace spoken of in the law was non existant, and the people did not see their messiah when they came.

Lets learn from th emistakes of the past. not make the same ones.. How about that?

I take it since you did not comment on the rest of my post, you agreed and understood where I was coming from and I hope that has helped you understand what real grace is.

As for this post, okay, what am I supposed to see here? So there are people trying hard to practice righteousness and there are multitudes of believers practicing habitual unrepentant sin... I understand that much, what point are you trying to make?

Help me understand you.

Thats your problem. It is not work, thus it is not hard. We do not even have to try, all we have to do is let go and allow God to carry us.

What is hard is resisting God. Because it is against our nature (for those born again.

Try to understand there are many FAKE christians who practice habitual unrepentent sin, But there are NO REAL christians doing this.

As john said, A child of God can not live in habitual sin, because he has been born of God, whoever lives in sin has never seen God or known him.

G7 You are condemning behaviour modification programs, and saying it is a lie that
Jesus talked about changing our behaviour.

Repentance is a commitment to change our behaviour.

Jonah preaching to Nineveh was behaviour modification. Repent or be destroyed.
They put on sackcloth and ashes and said they were wrong worthy of judgement.

An alcoholic spends their life modifying their behaviour.

When Jesus says do not let you right hand know what you left hand is doing this
is behaviour modification.

You are preaching against Gods word, plain and simple

You cannot follow Christ without denying your self and carrying your cross.

For all your "spiritual" maturity, you are a wolf in sheeps clothing.

The question in the christian fellowship has always been the how we change
not that we do not need to change.

Your answer is God changes us, but it does not involve obedience or commands.
It is though a change of behaviour to follow God or the Holy Spirit or your conscience
or the Word of God.

So even here you contradict your own statement.

The truth appears to be doing what G7 says is ok, is ok, but not anything else.

And beware those evil people who obey Christ, they are the worst.

How many times do you need to see the verses in 1 John, which teach:
those who practice righteousness are righteous!

And let's not think God is playing games with us by NOT saying:
those who do NOT practice righteousness are righteous!
 
Here is my personal view of the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and how it influences our life and on the subject of "good works" or "righteous acts".

Grace empowers us to "good works"...works that are good in His eyes. These "good works" are a manifestation of His life in and through us. They are "His good works." - His fruit that is bearing in our lives. The fruit of His life that is already in us in Christ.

True grace doesn't not permit us to stay the same; after we know we are not condemned because we are in Christ - it empowers us to change and to do "good works" from the life of Christ in us.

I have posted over 200x times that the true grace of God "teaches" us how to live godly in this world - not the law of Moses or D.I.Y self-righteousness/holiness. If you are not living in this D.I.Y self-righteousness - then this statement should not "offend" you.


Grace was never intended to allow us to keep on being the same, as the true grace after knowing acceptance grace and having this truth cemented in our hearts - it is then that God's empowerment is released through the life of Christ in and through us that transforms us outwardly by the Holy Spirit and this reflects in our behavior. 2 Cor. 3:17-18

This "putting on of Christ" enables others to see Christ in our lives to see His goodness and love and grace towards them because of His deep love for them. It is the kindness/goodness of God that leads us to repentance.

When we see that we are called to the true life in Christ and we know that we can't work it up and can't accomplish it in our own self-effort and strength but we surely desire to live this life that is in us in Christ - that's when empowering grace comes to make our faith a reality in our lives.

How many times do you have to see in 1 John that whoever sins has never seen God or known him.

Gods people do practice righteousness, Because they are his children. I believe the verse you showed. It is true, It is honest, It is from God,,

it is the fakes, the wannabes, and the non believers who practice sin, Not children of God.

So which is it, Does Gd accept us as we are. Or does he only accept us if we are obedient?


You can not have it both ways.

Yeah and how many times will you ignore the biblical fact that righteousness is a gift.

At the end of the day, what you're doing is selective believing. Some parts of the bible you believe, some you don't. Correct me if I'm wrong cause I have no intention of making this assumption to offend you.
