My last post on this

Jesus came with GOOD NEWS about victory and being set free.. He overcame, everything so we could..
All thru the NT we see we are told we are more than, and we are seated in heavenly places with Christ

I read thru this thread and see no good news.. see to hope for no victory.. well that's not what drew me to Christ and its not what the Bible says....

We are told we will suffer bc the kingdom suffers violence.. from where? the kingdom of darkness bc satan is in opposition.. we wrestle not against flesh and blood...

I see sicknesses and death in the NT being taken away and life restored to glorify the Father.. what glory is in weak, sick, broke people? none

You are fighting against the body and wonder why defeat is present.. what does the word say? when one suffers we all do.. so you think your words don't come back on you? judge so youre not judged bc with the measure you give so it will be back unto you..

A house divide cannot stand.. You guys attack Gods chosen.. You cant do His work without grace and the HS.. but never mind bc you don't agree with what they teach... they teach obedience above all else if you ever have ears to hear, youd know..

The Bible said to watch out for those who creep in but deny Jesus... If they claim Him and Him as Lord, the you are speaking AGAINST THE WRONG PEOPLE..

God looks like a provider and a healer to me.. who blesses those who keep His ways not just read His word....

BTW, WHO is denying Jesus? Not even the false teachers here do that.

I don't believe I have seen you post a single Bible verse supporting this nonsense. Your "good news" is not Biblical, but a modern day heresy. (Wait, you said something about wanting people to read further in the Bible, yet you dno't even post references so we can read in context, which is never a bad thing to do. Yet, you do not do it. Just WoF hearsay!)

Here is what I see as being the gospel or Good News:


"Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand,2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. 8 Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me." 1 Cor. 15:1-8

Jesus did have an incredible healing ministry, as a witness to fulfill the Old Testament prophecies concering him. And the disciples also healed, but their primary focus was spreading the "good news" that Jesus came to die for our sins, for those who believe.

I believe God can heal if he wants to. But he does not heal "on demand." God is not some easy download of a movie called "healing" or "wealth." He has many purposes for his people, like comforting those who are hurting.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,4 who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." 2 Cor. 1:3-4

As for God's purpose for the Christian, it is to reach out with the gospel. To do that, he is tranforming us and making us to be more like him in spirit. Not to make us the ones who fulfill the Old Testament prophecies.

"And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ." Phil. 1:6

As for things that go wrong in our lives:

"And we know all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

And what motivates us? We must keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, not on externals like signs and wonders.

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God" Hebrews 12:1-2

suffering and how we should deal with it.

Prove all things - Subject everything submitted to you to be believed to the proper test. The word here used (δοκιμάζετε dokimazete), is one that is properly applicable to metals, referring to the art of the assayer, by which the true nature and value of the metal is tested; see notes, 1 Corinthians 3:13. This trial was usually made by fire. The meaning here is, that they were carefully to examine everything proposed for their belief. Mostly though, your using on short verse leaves out context! A clear exegesis of the text requires context, which they don't seem to teach you at Rhema, it seems from your many posts, using a Greek you do not read or understand. True context doesn't even need the Greek, it just needs the surrounding chapter, if it is quoted or from the Old Testament, the audience it was written to, where it was written, etc. Greek is only for resolving deeper grammatical issues, or word usage. Or worse, a gloom and doom Christian who says people don't have enough faith to be healed, implying they don't have enough faith to be saved?? Because they do seem packaged in the false WoF gospel.

So what is good? Just some kind of external gospel that is only about healing and wealth?

Or perhaps that God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son? You know, that sort of thing? The miracle of salvation contained in the atonement! But not healing!

Or is this "good?"

You have every right to accept illness or disability if you'd like... that's your call.

All others are saying is Jesus has provided a way to escape those things because ultimately they are not from God are came upon mankind as a result of Adam and Eve plunging the entire human race in to darkness.

Jesus would like to see folks delivered from illness / disability while the devil smiles and very much enjoys seeing people in tat condition. Putting up with this sort of thing is not for me based on the fact Jesus has already paid for it, but others seem to not be troubled by it.

None the less, the Word does not teach that not receiving healing is the unpardonable sin so if one is otherwise walking with the Lord then they will go to Heaven when they die.
Boy! You really don't get the gospel at all!

Rights? We have one right -- the consequence of sin -- separation from God, death and hell.

God -- who holds all other rights -- made a way for some to get out of what is "rightfully" ours. And that is through Christ Jesus and because his sacrifice on the cross, which made him "righteous" because he took on the punishment of whosoever.

That's the cake. Not everyone gets even the cake. For those of us who are "whosoever" the frosting is perfection in God through eternity to worship him and glorify him.

I never "chose" to be healed, yet I was. And, I'm not. If you would take the time to read what is given to you, instead of wasting so much effort coming up with some of the dumbest versions of a gospel (that is not God's gospel at all), you might have figured all this out 30 some pages ago. AND you might have understood my article.

If God heals us, there is no choice but to be healed. BUT teaching a false gospel does come under unpardonable, if God CHOOSES not to save you between now and bodily death. That hell part is even worse for those who try to dissuade God's kids from God into following something so absolutely false as what you teach.

And, no. I don't listen to false "teachers." It's a thing. Once I first realize how false they are, what is to learn but bad info poorly taught? I also never read Mein Kampf or Marxist babbles either.

Suffering is not about sickness in Scripture. It's persecution.
Jesus suffered, but didn't die of sickness.
Paul suffered, but didn't die of sickness.
That example isn't in the Bible.
Sickness in the NT is actually explained as not discerning the Body.
There is no other reason given besides Jesus when He sets people free of Satan's bondage.

And what I'm presenting is that Scripture says God desires all to be saved.
But we know not all are. So my question is why not. If God controls everything like people claim in regards to healing, why doesn't it translate over into salvation?

you are confusing the issue in your responses above and I would really like to see, from scripture, where you get the idea that sickness is caused for lack of discernment of the body...since you have body capitalized...I will assume you mean the body of Christ?

I'm sorry, but when I brought up joy, you brought up this Scripture. Since we are talking about healing I figured you were making a connection.

So are you saying that God doesn't want us to have joy, but suffer? Well what's really intriguing is that Scripture teaches we can count suffering all joy. But once again suffering in Scripture is persecution. We are persecuted for our love. And in this love is perfected.

No, because as Christians we are called to be persecuted. Jesus died for love. Just as we do. Not to mention, Jesus was called to die and He knew it before He was killed. Faith actually allowed Him to die, I think. Because in the garden we see two opposing wills, He says if this cup can pass then let it be so, but if not let Your will be done. I don't see any contradiction.

and God chooses...which indicates he makes a choice...so while we are all precious in His eyes and He loves each of us, we are not a level playing field

which is why different people receive different gifts and why we have teaching inspired by the Holy Spirit and teaching inspired by doctrines of demons...even though both may have started out the same

we play a big part in how things get done

you don't have to believe that at all and I don't expect you to receive it...but I am sure some will see that and agree

I would not even call it favoritism...but the individual response to God plays a part and God says when we seek Him with our whole heart we will find Him...not everyone throws it all in

Obedience vs disobedience is the picture

interesting

but not necessarily

the workers who came in to work at the end of the day, received the same wages as those from the start of the day

God gives to whom He will...and forgives as generously

our obedience is as a gift of love to Him...it does not create some sort of payback with interest for those who obey better

if we obey, we keep OURSELVES out of trouble...but God's love does not change and He does not favor one over the other as our efforts do not and never will create some sort of holiness

Boy! You really don't get the gospel at all!

The Lord is my judge, so your opinion is ignored.

You are a glass half empty person who is still living after the flesh not recognizing that Jesus Christ PAID for us to be righteous... Did you get that???? He went to the Cross and PAID for our sin so we could be in right standing with the Father.

If you don't get that, then you are ignorant of what God's Word teaches.

Notice how this verse says "you were healed"??? Healing is a fact, God has already provided it to His people,,, problem is, some of His people take the word of ignorant preachers who don't know what 1 Peter 2:24 means (among other scriptures on healing) over what God's Word teaches which is accepting the traditions of men over what God says in His Word.

And so some folks think healing has passed away and they are stuck with medical sciense which is no better than gambling in Vegas.

Mostly though, your using on short verse leaves out context! A clear exegesis of the text requires context, which they don't seem to teach you at Rhema, it seems from your many posts, using a Greek you do not read or understand. True context doesn't even need the Greek, it just needs the surrounding chapter, if it is quoted or from the Old Testament, the audience it was written to, where it was written, etc. Greek is only for resolving deeper grammatical issues, or word usage. So let us look at 1 Thess. 5:16-22, which contains the above verse. I do not see anywhere that you posted the reference for this verse you obviously love as part of your false doctrine.

In what circumstances should we be giving thanks in? Well, quite obviously ALL circumstances.So you know, sickness and health, bad and good, poor and rich. Not just being a fair weather Christian. Or worse, a gloom and doom Christian who says people don't have enough faith to be healed, implying they don't have enough faith to be saved?? Because they do seem packaged in the false WoF gospel.

So what is good? Just some kind of external gospel that is only about healing and wealth?

Or perhaps that God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son? You know, that sort of thing? The miracle of salvation contained in the atonement! But not healing!

Or is this "good?"

that a lot of opinion, and very little context... but i'll work with it. context of the verses is a living manner in preparation for the day of the Lord. 14-22 can be isolated as 9 separate but connected, separate in the face that each one is defined by a trait that is not dependent apone the other. while connected as aspect to be lived out in antisipation of the day of the Lord. plus you also have to take the general context of why the letter was written. false teachers were throwing this church into chaos. hence the use of kalos, because the church there was to look on the outward teachings and examine them against the Word of God. not the word agathos like the verse you mention, because like the definition, it is unseen. don't talk about context then connect verses out of context with the only thing holding them thgether being your opinion.
