How can you claim to have not attacked anyone when you state that those who go to church can't remain true christians? Are you so out of touch with reality that you can't see how that would be an offensive and attacking belief? And you haven't been personally attacked, your ideas and situation have been discussed and criticized, but if you can't take that you should avoid posting on internet forums (or having a conversation about such things with anyone who doesn't believe the exact same as you do). To continue whining about how victimized and attacked you feel because people disagree with you is a sign of immaturity and screams troll.

Well I mean with all due respect to the OP,
They haven't walked in everybody's shoes.
They haven't walked in a Pastors shoes either I'm sure, and they are talking like they are.
I happen to have a wonderful relationship with my Pastor, he is like a father to me and he is stereotyping a lot.
Not all churches are bad; there will always be those bad churches, but sometimes when someone goes to a church and is able to get help from loving Pastors or just like I said, fellowship with other Christians it can make all the difference.
My lead Pastor saw me during service and HE approached ME to make sure I was okay. He isn't full of pride; he took the job because he wants to teach the word of God.
Not to mention, I know some people who are Chaplins in the military and they lead service on base and I can tell you right now that they aren't prideful.
And, let's point out, my church is one of the largest churches, if not the largest in the city. We have three campuses so we can fill everyone.
Prideful people don't fly from a state when they are seeing their sister who they won't see for a while to come running for a 14 year old girl.
Prideful people don't give up what they have going on to visit someone in the hospital when no else even thought about it.
Prideful people don't spend their money for clothes and food for a young girl.

Hi Louise I am new here. I am sorry that you feel personally attacked. I believe most everything that you believe. I appreciate your thoughtfulness and your understanding. I do agree with you that there are some churches out there where people are leading for the power and prestige. But I also believe there are many churches filled with broken, humble people who love one another. I have experienced that first hand. I go to a little church in the foothills of the Rockies - there are about 50 of us. We fellowship together, love one another and listen to an amazing pastor who teaches the Word full of grace and truth. I love going there.
My Father once told me "If you find a perfect church....don't go, you will mess it up." I got his point. We should never expect perfect people in church, only sinful people seeking redemption. It is my understanding that the body of Christ is world wide. Those who love Jesus and accept his payment for our sins by His death on the cross. The details of our beliefs are insignificant in comparison to the death and Resurrection of our Savior. Whether we believe in a local physical body of Christ, we are part of the Bride of Christ. I personally need the fellowship of other believers. I need their empathy, their concern, their friendship. I find that in a local body of believers.

I understand what you are saying, but i am always growing, and i am aware of different maturity levels in Christ. Some churches are awesome, but some conform to the ways of man and are corrupted...however looking beyond this, we are called to be the light of the world, not to be members of church buildings...
don't get me wrong, you can be a member of a group, but you are called to share the gospel wherever you go because the kingdom is within you and you are the temple. Too many people get it twisted, and they want to keep the church only in a 4 walled box and among their own kind rather than sharing with the lost.
Back when i was in sin i wish i had someone to share the gospel with me, someone who was on the outside of the church walls who would meet me where i was to teach me something.. too many people get comfortable where they are, and forget what being a christian is all about.. And i know some people are going to feel convicted reading this, but it is what it is, you either walk in truth or you just profess it with your lips only.

I agree with what you have said here.. Indeed by the moving of The Holy Spirit we who have the Holy Spirit are moved to do His will.. But my point was to point out to all that this is not in operation 100% of the time in our lives.. If it where then we would be doing His will 100% of the time.. we would never sin and would always be doing good .. we would never fail to give help to others, we would never fail in doing good.. I often feel moved to make this clarification when i see people stating that the Holy Spirit causes them to do it's will without making it is not a 100% all the time thing.. Many new babes in Christ get very disheartened and come to doubt their salvation because they are under the impression that once you have the Holy Spirit working within you then you will become sinless by the power of the Holy Spirit.. You will often see on this very forum people pushing the doctrine of sinlessness in the flesh... They actually believe that if you are a real christian you will no longer sin.. can you imagine the level of delusion these people must be under if they actually believe they no longer sin??? But they do and they come in CC and preach this stuff.. I am glad you are not one of them
