Hi Louise I am new here. I am sorry that you feel personally attacked. I believe most everything that you believe. I appreciate your thoughtfulness and your understanding. I do agree with you that there are some churches out there where people are leading for the power and prestige. But I also believe there are many churches filled with broken, humble people who love one another. I have experienced that first hand. I go to a little church in the foothills of the Rockies - there are about 50 of us. We fellowship together, love one another and listen to an amazing pastor who teaches the Word full of grace and truth. I love going there.
My Father once told me "If you find a perfect church....don't go, you will mess it up." I got his point. We should never expect perfect people in church, only sinful people seeking redemption. It is my understanding
that the "Body of Christ" is world wide. Those who love Jesus and accept his payment for our sins by His death on the cross. The details of our beliefs are insignificant in comparison to the death and Resurrection of our Savior. Whether we believe in a local physical body of Christ, we are part of the Bride of Christ. I personally need the fellowship of other believers. I need their empathy, their concern, their friendship. I find that in a local body of believers.
Bless you my sister, I hope that you can find some good friends who love the Lord. I am so glad that your family is there for you and you have sweet fellowship with them.
