what we have here is the " legalism game " in where they post warning verses ( with no context ) and want others to " refute " these verses. they attempt to set Scripture against Scripture, which is heresy, but that is what they do.

look, sin, , hell, judgement are all real, because the Bible says so. but they are NOT for believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Those here who insist on trusting in grace-only OSAS ...
really need to explain the 100+ NT verses which teach against it.

If they cannot reconcile ALL of the NT verses, they are trusting in fool's gold.
You need to explain why you are trying to add your own works to the cross. and trying to save yourself. and why you refuse to allow God to save you by his gift of eternal life.

We have to keep 2 aspects in mind when interpreting scriptures on salvation.

Works-based believers see the warning scriptures and "interpret" those to mean that one loses salvation as in going to be with the Lord for eternity.

This type of mindset does not know the love and grace of God for people and thus they develop a fear based religion of works
"to keep one saved".

1 John 4:18-19 (NASB)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.

[SUP]19 [/SUP] We love, because He first loved us.

Salvation manifests itself here in this earth and also for going to be with the Lord because we are in Christ - sealed by the Holy Spirit when we believed as Paul said in Eph. 1:13 ; 4:30.

Start shooting heroin in your arms today and you will NOT experience salvation - that is life and wholeness on this earth for very long.

Confuse the 2 and we will come up with all kinds of works-based salvationists views - like we lose our righteousness. We don't have our "own" righteousness.
Christ Himself is our righteousness.

I believe we have to differentiate between "going to heaven to be with the Lord " salvation and - "being saved from the things that can destroy us here while being on this earth."

There are different manifestations of salvation in Christ - one is going to be with the Lord - the other is concerning the things of this life on earth.

The promised land is a type of being in Christ now - it is not a type of heaven as there will be no giants to fight in heaven.

Moses did not get to rest in what God had already provided for the Israelites - but yet Moses is with God now.

The promised land is a type of living here on this earth by believing in the promises of God. Only Caleb and Joshua were the ones that got to experience the promises of God in the promised land because they believed in what God had said.

We can inherit now in this life some things that are of the kingdom of God because the kingdom of God is within us...however if we don't have our minds renewed to the truth in Christ ( which includes living by the Spirit within us ) - we can not experience the things of the kingdom that are available to us believers.

Scripture uses the same Greek word - " salvation, saved
" = wholeness, preservation, keep safe, deliverance, make well
- for both being saved from things in this life and for going to be with the Lord for eternity.

If we don't understand this difference we will continually be mis-applying scriptures that talk about "being saved here in this life from things" and "going to be with the Lord".

There is eternal salvation and there is manifestation of salvation from temporal things while on this earth. Confuse the two and we end up with a mixed up message of self-effort for going to heaven and only the blood of Jesus does that.

Jesus is either our Savior for going to be in heaven with Him or we are our own savior by helping Him. One is by grace through faith-righteousness - the other is works-righteousness.

Let's just rely on the Holy Spirit to reveal the things of Christ to us.

We are safe in the Lord Jesus Christ and we can trust Him to do what He has He will do and has already done for us.

We have a great salvation in Him!
We can trust the Lord when He said "I will never leave you nor forsake you!"

Ephesians 2:5 (RSV)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

GRACE is receiving what you cannot earn and do not deserve.

MERCY is not receiving the punishment you do deserve.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (RSV)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God --
[SUP]9 [/SUP] not because of works, lest any man should boast.

Acts 18:27 (NIV)
[SUP]27 [/SUP] When Apollos wanted to go to Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and wrote to the disciples there to welcome him. On arriving, he was a great help to those who by grace had believed.

John 1:17 (NKJV)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:1-2 (NKJV)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
[SUP]2 [/SUP] through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Romans 11:6 (HCSB)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] Now if by grace, then it is not by works; otherwise grace ceases to be grace.

Galatians 5:4 (HCSB)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] You who are trying to be justified by the law are alienated from Christ; you have fallen from grace.

Titus 3:4-7 (NIV)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared,
[SUP]5 [/SUP] He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
[SUP]6 [/SUP] whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,
[SUP]7 [/SUP] so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

Romans 1:22 (NKJV)
[SUP]22 [/SUP] Professing to be wise, they became fools,

I have found that most people who post here are all poor in explaining, to a point.

Following the law without believing in Christ is the wrong path.

Otherwise your saying Christ is not enough.

Following limited terms of the new testament like: I believe in Christ, I'm saved, that's it, end of.

Is flawed too.

Following Christ, accepting Christ, believing in the gospel, IS GODS Will.

BUT,. This is not the limit of God and his will for us. Following the word, changes you, into a mirror of Christ, eventually. But you repent of sin when your mirror is dirty. Following Christ is a process. It takes time. Salvation is given instantly. But doing god's will is a good thing to do for all people, not just your salvation.

Doing good works, because you want to please god and help others, is a good thing. Doing works to get salvation is not a good thing. In my opinion.

Who overcomes?
Jesus did not sin, He obeyed his father in every area every moment he walked the earth.
Are you at his level?
Are you a moron? ... You continue to be a spiritual moron anyway.

Jesus was tempted to sin (like we are) ... and He overcame.

Overcoming is not about jumping through hoops and satisfying the expectations of men. It’s about depending on The Overcomer who lives in you.
Overcoming is about co-operating with the Overcomer who lives in you!
Part of this necessary co-operation is CHOOSING via your free will to NOT sin!

You know very well that ... all I am doing here is ...
WARNING those believers who are involved in habitual (unrepentant) sin!

But, you are fighting against God ... and I fear for the ramifications!

And here we have another spiritual moron who refuses to ...
accept and believe all of the many dire warnings the Lord has given about NOT sinning!

You gots ta RECONCILE all of the NT Scripture verses
... instead of fighting against half of them!

Of course!
James (and others) explain doing good works/deeds toward your fellow man
proves your salvation.
If you don't do this, you have proven you don't have eternal life.
So, doing this does not give one eternal life ... it just proves you have it.

Yes, doing this proves you have co-operated with the Holy Spirit (within)
and have chosen with your free will to actually do these things ...
instead of choosing to live in the flesh and sin habitually w/o repentance.

News Flash ... we have free will to follow Jesus or not ... we are not robots!

Following Jesus means to try hard to obey His commands,
and repenting when we fail to do so!

Obeying Jesus' commands is only our reasonable service ... it is NOT works!

Nonsense ...read what is green above in my post that you only copied a little from. No one here on CC advocates people sinning habitually as you put it.

I know this conflicts with your Pentecostal religion that people lose salvation and righteousness from what they do. You really need to know about the love and grace of God and what the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ really is.

Did you ever stop to consider why some people seem to be stuck in sinning - which takes all kinds of forms - like malice, slander, strife.

I am saying to depend on the life and grace of Christ in His finished work - not in your own works of self-righteousness and in your ability to stop sinning. I'm saying the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and the righteousness of Christ is greater then any sin and speaks of better things based on better promises.

I believe a lot of sincere believers have left the church ( not Jesus ) because they could not live this religious Christian life that was being preached to them. They loved Jesus " in their heart" but they didn't want to be a hypocrite so they backed away from the organized church.

Then there is the group that struggled with a certain sin and were never taught about grace properly and so they left because they were defeated. Constantly feeling condemned and guilty and full of shame. The legalists keep preaching at them to change!

The only change that is effective is from the true manifestation of the life of Jesus that is already in us - in our new creation and that only comes with the message of the gospel of the grace of Christ.

I believe there are thousands of Christians like this but I also believe the Lord is bringing them back to Him - only this time it will be based on the true knowledge of Him and His love and grace for them.

In your religion - this habitual sinning of calling your brother a name will get you a one way ticket to hell. Matt. 5:22 - Jesus talks about calling your brother "raca".

Our very own words reveal the "spirit" that is behind this type of behavior and it is not from God no matter how we try to twist things. This is how the religious mindset always functions and Jesus had many dealings with this type of behavior and He had not good words to speak about this to those that do this.

Better tell Jesus how His treatment of the Pharisees will send Him to hell.
He'll be amused.

I'ze bin explaining my simple position on all of this in MANY posts.
But, you're just not able to read and understand.

Jesus again ... He told His true disciples to shake the dust off their sandals and move on!
I have a nice pair of sandals.

I love how these dudes just show up, lecture us on Scripture, then duck, dodge, dance, and hurl insults when asked a simple question that should take no more than 2 seconds to answer. is anyone sinless and perfect? no . see how easy that was?

yep, this is what people do when they have no answer.

1. Call people names
2. Not answer the question
3. Blame the other person

I hope to see you in heaven.. But you must repent first and stop trusting in your works, and as long as you refuse to acknowledge why your trying to earn your gift. I do not see that possible.

The question is not is anyone sinless, because only Jesus can answer that.
The question should be does anyone walk with Christ? And the answer is yes.
In walking sin is forgiven, wounds healed, peace and love shared.

It is through communion we gain insight, and only with insight can we walk as
we need to as one with the Lord, knowing His presence and sharing the love he
has made alive in our souls.

Do we confess all sin in our lives when we repent? No, because we can never know
all the variations or failures we stumble in, but God still forgives us and washes us
clean. But we still get dirty and so need continual washing, cleansing, learning, desiring
growing, being, and having. This cycle is probably eternal because it is about communion
more than failure, dependency and dwelling more than distraction and rebellion.

When does a cyclist fall off their bike? When they stop peddling.

I've answered this here countless times!

But, you're all too spiritually blind to even be able to read and understand anything
except what Satan and your churches have blinded you with.

It's all about having the correct heart attitude before God
... with sincere repentance of your sins, etc.

This is walking in the Spirit ...
walking in righteousness ...
walking in obedience ... etc.

This is NT truth.

Remember? ... Yes, you've seen it here before.

Next week do you desire that I repeat it once again?
