Peter on how we should live:-IF WE WANT TO BE SAVED!, or KEEP FROM LOSING OUR SALVATION Peter keeps forgetting to put these last few words in the context. It is a HUGE mistake.

Be Holy
Just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy."
1 Peter 1:15-16

Have reverent fear
Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear.
1 Peter 1:17

Live for righteousness
He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness.
1 Peter 2:24

Done with sin
Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin. As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God.
1 Peter 4:1

It is odd that many on this thread deny these realities preached by Peter.
So who are they following and what faith do they represent?
Bryan's thought on how we should live, and probably most of the rest of us:-

1 Peter 4:1

Its odd that Peter keeps slandering people and say they do not follow these passages of scripture. When that is not the argument, The argument (as everyone can plainly see)

is PETER thinks we do them TO BE SAVED.

While the REST of us do them BECAUSE WE ARE SAVED.

either way, you can see how just a few words makes a world of difference.

Much has been said about the lack of love shown toward some on this thread.
My love for the truth and my hate for a twisting of Scriptures to fits one's false belief supersedes any love I have for those who preach such damnable lies.
I will not apologize for that stand.
now abideth faith, hope, and love, these three, but the greatest of these is love . . .

Joh 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

A false grace message comes froth from a false prophet.

For the cause of Christ
Roger
Roger, it is so true, in working through this commandment, we will soon discover what
is achievable and what we still have to work on.

I was teaching my daughter to park a car. We were in a car park so lots of room. She
had to manoeuvre the car carefully to reverse park in a white marked out space.
I said she had to try 20 times.

The first attempt was bad. By 15 times she was ok, at 20 almost perfect.

It is always hard to see where you fail and how badly until you try. The first feeling
is being helpless and hopeless. At the end it is why did I think it was a problem.

Believers seem to think unless they can love from day one it is impossible, because there
is no learning you can do, and you are what you are. My experience is the opposite.
When we know where we are and where we fail, we can bring it to the Lord and try again.
It is amazing to see how we change and how the Lord uses obedience as a light on our
souls.

Somehow some think this is earning your salvation, rather than following in Jesus's
footsteps, because trying and failing is not allowed.

God bless you

Indeed a pack mentality. Have you noticed lately how they're multiplying?

The more they increase, the more they openly circle those they hate & snap at them.

If nothing is done about this soon, the BDF will end up being nothing but a breeding ground for Satan.

Jesus stated several times to watch & pray..... Who's watching this?
Yep no attack here, And you and your PACK are not innocent!

How long is CC going to allow this crap to continue it is nt enough many GOOD people left.. I guess you just want to make all of CC a modern day pharisee group? Attacking anyone who loves Grace?

So falling in one of the ditches on either side is a better plan...?
Maybe you misunderstood what I was saying.
I wasn't promoting lukewarmness.
I would be very willing to talk about the tensions. I think it would help the conversation.
My thinking was along the lines of...for example, God is both severe and merciful.
So the ditch on one side would be to see Him as only very severe and the ditch on the other side would be to see Him as merciful and never severe. That's the kind of thing I was expressing. The places where verses seem to be in opposition to each other. (Not that they are, but they SEEM so until we understand them roundly.)

What I was getting at was how people pick one extreme, to the exclusion of a lot of verses, and so they get a distorted view because they don't have the balance. But then, those in the opposite ditch have the same problem. I see it often in the threads that go over and over the same topic, day after day, month after month, year after year. But there is never any coming together, or even coming MORE CLOSELY together, because neither side has the balance. Does that make what I was meaning any more understandable? :)
How many Gospels are there?

I ask, because it is not two extremes, There are two gospels..

Are both groups going to make it to heaven based on their way? I thought sure paul said there is but one gospel. and if ANYONE teach a different one period. They are to be anathema'd.

So which one should we follow? And which group should we watn because they are headed to hell?

Here is testimony that I am being accused of being evil.

If you make those who hold walking in righteousness is possible, evil and your enemies,
then this is no slander, but the truth.
How long do we have to put up with this crap? Are the mods even here listenign to this> How can we let this SLANDEROUS lies continue? Can we at leasdt WARN them to stop this?

for the last time peter.

NO ONE IS TELLING ANYONE WHO THINKS WALKING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS IS EVIL, OR OUR ENEMY.

WE ARE TELLING PEOPLE WHO CLAIM IT IS REQUIRED TO BE SAVED, KEEP SAVED, OR NOT LOSE SALVATION AS EVIL, AND OUR ENEMY namely AN ENEMY OF THE CROSS (there I will say it, An ENEMY OF THE CROSS)

The mere fact that your buddies like Angela, Stephen and ISIT keep allowing this NONSENSE and not confronting you ON YOUR SIN shows they are just as guilty!

I never said that. People on here say things about me all the time, but it is not based on what I have actually said. People just run with the baseless accusations. I always ask for proof, but none is ever given. :)
So, you do sin then from time to time just like all believers say when we are honest with ourselves.

Ok...so, when you have sinned - do you stop being a child of God because you had said "he who sins is a child of the devil". Did that sinning that you did change you from a child of God into a child of the devil?

In your personal view and application of some scriptures do believers in Christ go back and forth from being a child of God to being a child of the devil each time they sin?

I ask these questions so that I can see how your "personal application" of that scripture is. Thanks for answering.

That's just your inflated ego talking. 1 John 2:1 alone destroys your whole belief system.

"I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous."

Notice what it doesn't say. It doesn't say that if we sin we are not really Christians, and it doesn't say that if we sin God rejects us and takes back our salvation. It says that we have an Advocate with the Father if we sin. Of course neither we or God wants us to sin, but if we do, Gods got it covered.
Good day SavedByGrace ISIT, and all,

I would add the following, demonstrating that we who are in Christ still have sinful natures and though we are continually being transformed into His image, we are still sinners (including ISIT), which is why Christ shed His blood for us. Otherwise, the following would make no sense. Also keep in mind that James is writing to believers:

"Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

If we no longer sin after we come to Christ, then there would be no sins to confess to one another. Claiming that we have no sin is a sin.

Wow, really? Lying, mentally ill, double-minded, serial killers have the same mentality????? :(

He has been calling people names like this since he has been here, He does not like confronted with his issues.. And gets angry quite easily.

This statement is sad. Everyone here talking about what righteousness is and desiring to
know the presence of God in their lives is very aware they are sinners saved by grace.
hmm, Wonder if Stephen saw this?

If you agree you are a sinner saved by grace peter. then why do you teach the cross is not enough, and we have to work to EARN salvation?

That is not saved by grace, that is saved by works (earning a wage or reward) Salvation being the reward.

^ This shouldn't be tolerated. That is outright blatant slander. It was a good decision to not respond to the author of this in the past as far as his other posts, but this isn't getting a pass. Back to ignoring the responses. :(
for some reason, this has been allowed lately..

Not much we can do about it,,

IF WE WANT TO BE SAVED!, or KEEP FROM LOSING OUR SALVATIONPeter keeps forgetting to put these last few words in the context. It is a HUGE mistake.
These are not my words. Your whole construct is a projection.
We are called to be Holy, live in reverent fear, live for righteousness and be done with sin.

We do this because it is who we are and who we follow, Christ.

I will repeat myself, EG you do not understand because it is not in your heart.
I am neither saving myself or keeping my salvation, I am following Christ.

A car is going along the road because that is what cars do, it is how they
are built, it is their purpose, to not do this would deny their role.

Praise be to Jesus that He brings us the victory in the cross and His love for us.

My observation about EG's tunnel vision stands, which is why to EG what he is sharing
makes sense, God bless Him. I can do no more, the door is probably shut.

Thankyou for this. I just try and understand people and their approach.
I believe I now understand both EG and G7.
You understand us, But you continue to slander us because you have NO comprehenstion of what we believe or teach, and continue to claim we are against people who love to walk righteously.

I hope you learn to comprehend the word of God better than you comprehend us, or you will be in danger, if your not already.

EG do you not know this is all your own theological interpretation.
Please show me in the law of God where I have sinned?

Please show me my unbelief you believe is worthy of me being thrown into hell for, that nullifies
my faith in the cross of Christ for the forgiveness of my sins?

If you cannot, then it is all a construction in your own mind, nothing more. People will always
feel miss-represented and insulted for innumerable reasons, which are normally interpretation
and derived theology. I cannot help that, it is part of theological discussion.

Peace and love friend, to recognise our differences, or it will destroy you.

Show me the thread, post # and quote from my own words where I said I was perfect, lest you also be found a liar. (again) :)
There are women who will go to a store, buy a dress, leave the tags on, wear that dress to a wedding, then return the dress for a refund. Men do the same thing with suits. This is called theft by deception.

You are deceptive by deliberately not answering questions that need only a yes or no answer. Your own words proclaiming perfection are not written per se, but the essence of perfection spews out with your deliberate, reluctant silence. You're not fooling anyone, least of all, God. But carry on, its quite amusing.
