I totally agree with most of your post here. I also wish it were that easy.

But what I left here I cannot agree with. I wish we could be self-regulating. But it wont happen.

Just like in school, when someone gets a little cocky, a little rambunctious, others will join him until the teacher catches the ringleader & makes an example of him. Then everything calms down.

I will be the first to say I'm one of those that got carried away with the rambunctious ones. I let my guard down, & I compromised my standards. It's easy to be rambunctious when surrounded by rambunctious characters.

Another reason I did was because I was beginning to quit caring. Things are getting worse all the time, & I finally began to give up, because "why bother, when there's no discipline? There's been several with multiple warnings (I have one), not just in the BDF either. But it seems only trolls are banned.

When I stayed in the chat rooms. we HAD to have someone banned every now & then..... really. Some nut would come in & would get banned. But..... when that happened, those on the borderline found their place & behaved.

We live by example, & when we don't, we have to be shown an example.

Oncefallen was definitely going in the right direction when he stated a handful of people is gonna have to be banned if it doesn't change.

The church has a corporate responsibility as well as a personal responsibility. But we need to be sorely reminded that not everybody here is a christian.

Ugly & Oncefallen is right..... judgment HAS to come, not may, not might have to.
As a proprietor of angst and disrespect yourself, do you dare have the wherewithal to modify your own negative behavior and attempt to become more Christ-like?

It's nice to know you are innocent in the whole matter..... Perhaps you qualify to be one of the new mods?

I have 6,718 posts in the past seven years..... you have over 14,000 in the last 13 months.....

Somebody's been a busy boy. Not a rant, just a fact of observation, that's all. :)
And glorifying God with all 14,000+ posts.

Besides kaylagrl along with depleted starts a lot of calamity then Utah comes in to seal the deal. Blue_ladybug is innocent as we know in scripture " all people who like orange tabbys are innocent" Bob 2:7.
So we have quite a dilemma here saints.
I think the hyper hatred threads need to be banned.
As it says in the book of Bill 54:71 those who stroke the keyboard in anger will be deleated. Imo...

What it really means is that I retired last year...lol

I will say one thing about the BDF - being reviled and insulted by the outside world that believe differently then we do will be tame compared to what goes on in here sometimes by those that believe something differently then you do.....it's a good training ground.

Oh well....we will all laugh about it when we are with the Lord. We may as well start laughing now...:)

Hi Grace,

Personally, I really don't think it's funny.

Those from the outside have an excuse, they
aren't believers and they do what comes natural to them as an unbeliever. So I expect to be treated harshly by the world.

But among believers this should not be so. It's not funny at all!

I agree that it should not be so amongst brethren. Jesus said that there would be tares right in with the wheat.

We will laugh together as brethren should...so my view is we should just laugh off the insults and malice as it does no good to revile back. It seems to come natural to "believers" too just as the world. When I first came on CC - was totally shocked at how some people treated others that held a different view then they did. The amount of malice and deceit was appalling - and these are supposedly some that are pastors too.

The funny thing was it was those that said we are to live righteously and godly that were the worse offenders and constantly accused others of loving sin. Go figure...

Me...I'm going to laugh in the joy of the Lord and just not interact with those that continue to insult and name-call others.

Psalm 2:4 (NASB)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] He who sits in the heavens laughs, The Lord scoffs at them.

lol yea maybe we should clean more house . hey do you run a preschool ? I could use some pointers lol
Preschool..,kids will deny deny deny being wrong.

They won't change their actions until they admit to being wrong (for adults we call this sinning) and they need to stop and change.

If they never admit their error and accept responsibility for their actions, they will just get sneaky and do it when you aren't looking.

.if the only reason they stop is to not,be punished them there is no internal change.

For kids you help them think of how the other person feels. Let them think about others hurt and not their own desires....if someone snatched a toy from you how would you feel? Yes I know you wanted to play with the toy but did you try asking or sharing? Okay they don't want to share, should you hit them? No, you should ask an adult to mediate. They will give you each a turn with the toy or put it away if it's a personal toy they just wanted to show but not share playing with because it can be broken.

How does this translate into forums?

Timeout. Move to separate play centers/threads. Have buddies help keep them apart and out of each other's way???

Don't know. Toddlers are easier. They forgive after 2 minutes,

There are none good, except one; Matthew 19:17. The ones always pointing to their wool outer layer are generally wearing wolves Under Armour; Matthew 7:15. :)

Seriously? I'm reminded of Romans 2:3 here...
You just applied it to yourself also.

Where did you come up with that? It doesn't fit at all.
Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible Commentary
17. Another ground of consolation to Christians. All must pass under the judgment of God; God's own household first, their chastisement being here, for which they should glorify Him as a proof of their membership in His family, and a pledge of their escape from the end of those whom the last judgment shall find disobedient to the Gospel.the time—Greek, "season," "fit time."judgment must begin at the house of God—the Church of living believers. Peter has in mind Eze 9:6; compare Am 3:2; Jer 25:29. Judgment is already begun, the Gospel word, as a "two-edged sword," having the double effect of saving some and condemning others, and shall be consummated at the last judgment. "When power is given to the destroyer, he observes no distinction between the righteous and the wicked; not only so, but he begins first at the righteous" [Wetstein from Rabbins]. But God limits the destroyer's power over His people.if … at us, what shall the end be of them, &c.—If even the godly have chastening judgments now, how much more shall the ungodly be doomed to damnatory judgments at last.gospel of God—the very God who is to judge them.Matthew Poole's Commentary
For the time is come; or season, viz. that which is fixed by God: the afflictions that befall God’s people come in the time appointed, and so are never unseasonable. Or this may imply, that what the prophets spoke in their time, Isaiah 10:12Jeremiah 25:29, doth especially agree to gospel times, viz. that judgment begins at the house of God.

Judgment; viz. temporary, and for good, in opposition to the destructive judgment he implies in the latter part of the verse; he means all those afflictions God brings upon his children for their correction, trial, instruction, mortification, 1 Corinthians 11:31,32.

Must begin at the house of God; the church of God, and the members of it, called here his house, as 1 Timothy 3:15 Hebrews 3:6, and typified by the material house or temple of God under the Old Testament.

What shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? How miserable, how dreadful will be the end of all those that would not obey the gospel! Implying, that they shall be in a much worse condition if God take them in hand. If he spare not his children, much less will he his enemies. If the one sip of the cup of God’s wrath, the other shall wring out the dregs, and drink them, Psalm 75:8.

Your "version" doesn't line up with the commentaries, nor the context of this scripture at all.

The "judgement" spoken of against the ungodly is the same word used against the church. It's not a good thing at all.

Every time I check your posts like this for accuracy, they fail. You always seem to have something positive to illustrate for the end for the christian when in fact all throught the NT harsh warnings & judgments are found. Your posts sound more like what Joel Osteen would say.

The BDF is a necessary function of a site like CC just like dropping a deuce is a necessary function of the human body. Both serve a function, but neither are particularly pleasant.
(Note to self: never play poker with YIG. I don't think I'd like his pair of deuces even if I had a better hand.)

Pot meet kettle..,,,ah Oncefallen I don't know how you resist banning both so folks can have their "example" punishments.

Bann everyone for a day if they make an ad hominem attacks? Or warning via pm then bann?

Or maybe folks could try something different and Biblical like forgive one another..,lay down grudges with the setting sun and not gossip about others or pull up hurtful comments because they havent listen to God and are still angry and hurt?

No that would be too logical and Biblical. That might actually show the world that mature Christians are different. No folks would rather be bitter and mad because they didn't get banned or get the other person banned....

Wait, they weren't trying to get banned?

Wow could have fooled me.
I like the you that shows up late at night too. lol

It is RARELY my intention to view or post in the BDF, maybe if I post a new thread and there seems nowhere else suitable I might but otherwise I'm simply "sent" there by the "new posts/threads" on the right hand side of the home page simply because a topic has caught my eye - that is how I read or respond to threads on CC. I never intentionally go to the BDF because I generally know what I'm going to get! Maybe these new posts/threads should state where they are going to take you when you click on them or maybe just a health warning would suffice!
Does this help?

Ban Pharisaic legalists -- problem solved.
You do realize that leaves room for only about 5 people on this whole site, AND neither of us are in that group, right? lol
