You're also on medication, which comes into the equation of why you'd end up with this reaction.

What's the name of this natural supplement?

Nature's Measure brand. It's called Relax and Sleep..

I recommend Bach's Rescue Remedy or Invite health's Sleep Hx, these products aren't cheap or synthetic or make claims that they can do something they can't. Neither have any negative side effects.

Chamomile tea can be bought with Valerian root in it, though I would be a bit careful
of drinking it excessively as Valerian can build up in your system and become toxic,
probably not much of a concern with tea but something to be aware of and maybe
monitor. You can also get tea with hops in it. Hops will assist in sleeping for sure :D

I've used the rescue sleep remedy or Melatonin, I like I get a good night's sleep with that. I've used it for my kid's on occasion as well. My Daughter has a difficult time sleeping, she's always been that way. Her Doctor reccomend half of the adult dose. She will sleep through the night.
Hops tea, valerian tea, california poppy cigarette, kava water infusion, and nutmeg in milk are all good sleeping remedy.

The strongest sleep remedy I took was a homemade one, about 1 gram of hops, strain resin through cotton shirt into bowl (my method, stretch shirt over bowl, tie tight, place hops on shirt, cover with another shirt, tie tight, hit with stick, the rest will, work from here). Resin in bowl should appear yellow powder (could be oran.), press the powder together until in a ball, on a double boiler, put resin into bowl, cover, let sit for 1/2 hour, will show little to no visible signs of change, put butter in double boiler, enough to fill bowl to cover resin ball when melted, when butter melted, mix thoroughly, and let sit for 15 minutes.

the resulting product, I say take a 1 by 2 centimeter area of bread dipped in melted butter or spread somewhat lightly with solid, for 8 hours of sleep. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE AND TAKE MORE, this is the only remedy I have tried which makes me sleep 8 hours uninterrupted, perhaps uninterruptible. if you are nervous, take less, if you require more after, you can take some more.

I would like to say the hop remedy is the strongest I've tried to the reason I will say try it with upmost caution if you do, while making it, turned off the burner and turned it on a second time, the fumes from the double boiler of butter made me nearly pass out in the next room. this is a POTENT sleep aid, strong care should be exercised with it's use.

this hops resin recepie I finds costs 0.17 dollars in the USA, and is strongest.

Hard work will make you sleep like a rock!

Absolutely. A sedentary lifestyle is one of the worst things for the brain and body combined. Sure winding down and processing the day is important, not to take away from that. However unemployment, injury and an absence of doing anything productive that takes people out life can take it's unhealthy toll. People should do everything they can to stay active despite the odds, it always pays off into a good nights sleep.

I eat banana's every day. The one of the best foods for the brain. Very unripe banana's and blueberries I try to eat daily as my essential brain food. However if they've ripened I turn them into a gorgeous sweet banana and strawberry smoothie. Amazing the food God provides.

I agree with you Magenta, I use medicinal herbs at all times going to the doctors is my last resort. It's a crime on how much it cost for prescriptions...and seeing a doctor is crazy...especially if don't have insurance(It is all a system). I was one of those who almost died from a side affect recommended by a doctor...I have a doctor who is open minded to alternative medicine and recommends medicinal herbs:D

Hello Laura Charlotte. I have been keeping an eye out for you wanting to share something with you, but first I am going to respond to what you have written here :D

Blueberries are often listed in the very top of top ten lists of super foods due to the phytonutrients etc in them. Blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries are some of my favourite fruits :) I also eat strawberries quite often because my daughter really likes them :)

I used to eat bananas fairly regularly, but then I got away from the habit... but the avocados were so expensive yesterday (three dollars each!) that I bought a couple of bananas instead, and ate one this morning. Luna, my cat, had just had her breakfast, but it did not stop her from eagerly following after me to see what manner of treat this was that I was partaking of... and I do know that generally speaking, cats are not fond of bananas, but she looked so cute and so hopeful that I bit off a small piece and offered it to her. Haha, she did what was expected, by initially being repulsed by the smell, but then determination took over again (I was, after all, eating the thing!) and she tried sniffing it again but she made no move at all to eat it :D I prefer my bananas ripe but before the brown spotting starts.

I wanted to mention a new cereal to you that I found recently, wondering if you have heard of it. Do you eat cereal? It is called Ezekiel 4:9 :)eek:) I bought all four different flavors that I saw: Original (plain), Cinnamon Raisin, Almond, and Golden Flax :D

EzekielCereal.jpg

It is very nutritious and filling, with no refined sugar added, no preservatives, no shortening etc, made from organic live sprouted grains, legumes, and seeds. The package says it was inspired by the Holy Scripture verse of Ez 4:9~

Take wheat and barley, beans and lentils, millet and spelt; put
them in a storage jar and use them to make bread for yourself.

These days everything is a super food. That phrase has lost it's real meaning.

Thanks. There's a lot of food for thought in what you've posted, if you allow me some time I'll go through it all and give it the reply it deserves. Talk soon.

Forget the chemicals or herbal remedies, these simply help you relax/are a shortcut. The most powerful relaxation technique is to focus on your breathing for 10-15 minutes, focusing on the smoothness of breath, and a constant steady rhythm (a learner can start by counting when breathing). These are much newer and scientific concepts than simply taking deep breaths, or typical ideas of meditation. Good breathing causes a coherent heart beat. It is an erratic heart beat which causes poor sleep. Not to be confused with heart rate.

It is the only way I cured poor sleep, however it hasn't cured my issue of not choosing to sleep early!

The reason I try to stay chemical free, is because; saying that something helps us means you have to keep using it, and can cause a dependency on it. Breathing is teaching the body to cure itself as a habit. Products are never going to say, 'you can spend money on me, but have you tried breathing properly first?'

I have also learnt that when I go to sleep, if I simply spend that time focusing on breathing I fall asleep in no time. I've no doubt that this will work for anyone.

My reason for saying is I tried absolutely everything when I had problems sleeping, and this is the only thing that worked permanently. And I can't charge you for this advise either! :)

Anyone sleeping with a cell phone, laptop, tablet, or TV closer to them then 20 feet or less is depriving their body of proper sleep. For that matter I would have a digital alarm clock at least 6,7 feet away from me.
Also, keep the room as dark as possible.
And use only incandescent clear (not frosty coated) light bulbs only.
Try not to use the computer, tablet or cell phone at least a hour before bed. Use blue light blocking glasses when using either of those.
