Ephesians 5:1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
The word "followers" is the Greek word mimētēs, which means "an imitator".
Thank you ma'am for pointing that out, and understand that the below is not directed at you personally.
Who is our shining example to imitate? Unlike most on this forum, I believe we should not only be like Jesus in character, but also to be like Him in power.
Mat 11:5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
The will of God is for the blind to see, the lame to walk, the lepers to be cleansed, the deaf to hear, the dead to be raised up, and the gospel preached to the poor.
In today's society, only the gospel is preached to the poor, the rest is left undone, because very few believe God will heal through them, like He did with Jesus, because it has been demonized and mocked by the heads of the main stream denominational churches and their congregations.
No, we'll never be as good as our Savior, but it is enough to be
AS our Lord and master in EVERY respect.
Mat 10:24
The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
Mat 10:25
It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
Mat 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
When Jesus walked the earth, He gave His disciples power to do the same works He did, which was and still is, the will of God for us to do today. Only Jesus isn't here in physical form to tell each of us that He has given us the same power, so we walk about as though we can do nothing, and so, being too afraid to do anything, we do just that, nothing but preach the gospel. We can preach and teach because we don't need God's power or Spirit to speak. Why, even the wolves in sheep's clothing, who stand at the pulpits, do the same.
If one has to hear the gospel to believe in Jesus to be their savior, then I would think the same needs to be done for us to believe that we too can still storms and heal the sick. God's will doesn't change from generation to generation. So why is it that God's will is so different for this generation from the others? It is because the preachers have been teaching their congregations that God doesn't do those things anymore. Where is that written? Or they say, sometimes God says, no. Again, where is that one written in the bible? God said, "
every promise in Christ Jesus is
yea and amen."
2Co 1:20 For
all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
Should it be necessary for me to write the definition of the word,
all? In order for one to believe God says, no, they HAVE TO IGNORE, or fail to take into consideration, or doubt the truth of, the above verse. If you didn't get an answer, which translates to nothing happened concerning your prayer, then you need to look at yourself as the problem, not God. Nor try to use the bible as a crutch for your failures.
Understand this, God doesn't say no, He just has a hearing problem with the sinners and the sinners saved by grace.
