How often do we equivocate getting old with just being lazy and out of shape?
One way to find out! Put yourself to the test.
#1 Example!...1985 did 80 lb arm curls. Still do that today.
#2 Crunches!.. Last 5+ years, Did 450 to 600 crunches. 2 weeks ago, The norm is now 800 crunches. Did 1500 last week. Stopped only because I got bored.
#3 Hiking!... 28 years ago did a bunch of Advanced club hikes. Got back into club hikes 7 weeks ago. Usually 51+ Hikers showing up. My conditioning solo hikes were 5.1 miles. 1500 ft gain. Saturday Feb 4th. did my 2nd club hike. 10 miles 1100 ft gain. Both club hikes I was 2nd in line following the leader. Last hike I stopped on the way home and did my usual 5.1 mile 1500' elev gain hike. Total Hike for day! 15 miles, 2100 ft gain on two hikes same day.
#4 Offroading!.... Rarely take rest breaks on tough mountain trails of 2-4hr loops.
How does a guy know he may be getting older? Darn hair may start thinning. Too darn lazy putting on motorcycle boots. lol
Sad Part!.. I could only wish I put this much time and effort in Sharing in the word of God the last year. Sure feel good for an old guy though.
