Dear Lord, I forgive this brother, in his rage and blindness lashes out to hurt.
Thankyou for taking me a sinner, and healing me, the worst of sinners of all the chaos
and tumult in my life. Thankyou for teaching me love, how to reach and touch others
to love my children and wife, to know your loving and caring touch on all aspects of
my life. I praise you that I owe my life to you, and I trust I might bring glory to your
name through the work you have done in me.
And I pray dear Lord, for the sick and wounded here, who feel so condemned they
walk each day as if you had not died and risen, that joy of being forgiven had not
dawned in their spirits and that they still feel captive to so much of their past.
Help them see your love and forgiveness, to reach out in faith and receive your
healing, and today know the words you speak are true and eternal, Amen.
I reported him.

I am sorry but I don't understand what you are saying,

"Vessel unto dishonor"?
I see the prodigal sons as the vessels of dishonor where they had given up their first inheritance for wild living, as the vessels of dishonor are still in His House just as the prodigal son is still son.

God will judge His House at the pre trib rapture event; those saved believers found in iniquity will be castaway and thus left behind' excommunicated from attending the Marriage supper because their works of iniquity that denies Him, they will be denied

Titus 1:[SUP]13 [/SUP]This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;[SUP]14 [/SUP]Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.[SUP]15 [/SUP]Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.[SUP]16 [/SUP]They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Thus the disciples' job is to....

2 Timothy 2:[SUP]10 [/SUP]Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

The eternal glory that comes with our salvation is that vessel unto honor in His House; aka the elect; the firstfruits. This is what His disciples seek for others believers, new or wayward in seeking their good in the Lord to be that vessel unto honor.

[SUP]11 [/SUP]It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:[SUP]12 [/SUP]If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:[SUP]13 [/SUP]If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

So if our works deny Him... He will deny us entrance at the Marriage Supper, unless we repent by trusting Jesus Christ to deliver us from those evil works & continue to lead us away from temptations which is to His glory, BUT for those denied, even those that err from the truth and have their faith overthrown where they do not believe in Him any more, He is faithful for He still abides in them as verse 13 testify above.

Another example is below which gives out the call to depart from iniquity to be that vessel unto honor in His House which in turn testifies that the vessels unto dishonor are in His House and hence still saved but they had not looked to Him for help in departing from iniquity.

2 Timothy 2:
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.[SUP]19 [/SUP]Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.[SUP]20 [/SUP]But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.[SUP]21[/SUP]If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

So the prodigal son that gave up his inheritance to be that vessel unto honor by living the wild life, will find that he is still son, but received as a vessel unto dishonor later on when resurrected after the great tribulation to serve the King of kings.

That doesn't make sense of you truly knew the definition of grace....grace can't be earned or abandoned. It is given to those who don't deserve it seek it.

The prodigal son was dead and made alive again....did the elder son ever live?

He never left the Father but he never enjoyed what he was blessed with with his friends either. Is that living?
I think that is the other aspect of the story.

The son who did all the hard work and stayed got mad because the father loved the son who left and gave him the great feast.

He loved the son who stated also. We see who appreciated his fathers love more. and it was not the son who stayed.

That is not for you to decide whether or not he knows God just sayin but i just wonder if a person can still know God and be tempted by demons.
Jesus was lead into the desert to be tempted by Satan.,,,,being tempted is not sin...being angry is not sin...

However, commuting a crime and being unrepentant and unforgiving is a sin...some sins are unto death and some are not.

But what does this have to do with the parable?

Not hell. Just as the flood came in Noah's days.... there is a fiery judgment coming on the earth, much like Sodom & Gomorrah. Jesus spoke of that fire coming on the earth in Luke 12:40 when warning believers to be ready in context of Luke 12:40-49 to avoid being left behind with the unbelievers.

Is there not a Refiner's fire mentioned as well in 1 Corinthians 3:10-17?

Neither of the fire mentioned above in those 2 references is about hell fire.

To be honest, the way some handle words, and others sincere positions and beliefs,
I wonder if they made it past 12 years old. We have such a range of backgrounds
and abilities, it is no wonder there is often miss-communication and random labelling.

I knew a guy who would hate and kill catholics. Now he believed he was a christian.
He did come to Christ, and over a 4 year period the Lord dealt with his hatred, and
he came to see people as lost sinners, confused and often lashing out without knowing.

Imagine meeting the prodigal son at his worst, drunk and hurt. I am sure he blamed his
dad for letting him go, for a lack of guidance, for anything that took away the guilt.

Nothing I have said is ever contraversial or non biblical, yet some teachers have convinced
you this position is lying. For me, the question I come to are you a miss-guided believer or
someone who never knew Christ in the first place.

Based on the confusion in some, it is a mixture of the two, but maybe will never be resolved
because the weeds and hurts of the past have polluted the word too much.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Col 3:12

I wonder if those hunting for enemies put their mission down, and tried to see
people for who they were, hurt, bashed, wounded individuals, making sense of the
world on the level of understanding Christ has so far worked in them, maybe things
might progress better.

Is this possible? Just to see the prodigal son as a lost person seeking pleasure realising
God provides a safe real loving environment that matters. This is His church, His body,
of redeemed Holy people, created out of hard experience and forgiven sin, worthy of
respect and honour, because of the Lords work in their hearts. Amen.

The way I approach parables

The parable words be establishing an idea and a relationship between the characters.
It then develops what happens as a result.

What is significant is always the final result, which I think is what Jesus is getting at.
Often it is this result which is commentary on the spiritual situation Jesus was in at
the time.

And the core issue is often a single point. The lost sheep.
The effort to find one sheep is greater than that spent on the rest, but God deems
it of utmost importance and joy to bring one sinner into the Kingdom.

How we find and share with the lost is where Gods heart is, because those saved
are saved, safe in eternity. But this world is wrapping up, and still there are people
to call and share with.

But listen to the arguments. You are a legalist, you are too free and easy.
But the answer is to open our hearts and walk in love, the rest flows from this.

Some though are deaf to the call of Christ, and His commands and nature.
The prodigal son is loved by the Father, and he waits, always hoping, always
desiring the best, the return of the lost sheep.

What staggars me is the father is so humble. He gives the son all he asks for
with no rebuke, just accepting the choice. Now that is humbleness and love.
Christ showed exactly the same approach.

I think my friend all the elect would disagree with you.
Which proves my point, you do not read scripture correctly, shoot from the hip,
and want to blow people away.

This is not Jesus's way at all.
Yawn. You "elect" sure do pat yourselves on the back, don't cha. Have at it. I'll stick with Jesus.

Sorry Ariel82, but the correct reference is Luke 12:49 about that fire coming on the earth, but it is addressing believers from Luke 12:40 onward.

Utah, if you would stop taking yourself so seriously, and lighten up it might be fun.
Are you what some might call a red-neck?

Or is this the persona you like to carry around, with your hunting rifle and tough speaking
ways, putting us city folk in our place, yee harrrr.

You have no idea the depth, magnitude and sincerity of my faith in Jesus Christ. You're simply a foolish blowhard who enjoys hearing himself talk and reading his own hype in an effort to begrudge people that which is inherently ours, salvation by God's grace, made complete at Calvary. You haven't done anything to earn salvation, numbnuts, its a gift freely given to those who believe. Belief is not doing, its acknowledging. You sure do think highly of yourself -- fool.
I think you did not understand my post.

To be with Christ you need to respond.
If Jesus came to your house, he stays outside until you open the door and let Him in.

"numbnuts" that is really upmarket in your vocabulary.

Now belief is a conviction about something. But belief becomes faith or trust when
you do something because of the belief. I believe a car can take me from new york
to washington. Until I try it it is of no use.

Now somehow this simple relationship about belief and action has become disconnected.
And worse than that, anyone who points it out is a bad person.

Is this how you treated all your teachers at school? Had a hard time getting along?
