For him I cannot speak, but only for myself.

What does the Bible say on this matter? That's a question not a statement.
Find me how to design and manufacture an electronic resistor or capacitor in the Bible. Or a light bulb. Or how to show a doctor the way to replace a heart, or a kidney, or even how to replace something done hundreds of times every year, replace a knee with an artificial one.

You won't find a single thing in the Bible that conflicts with how to do any of those things. You will find many conflicts with the Globe Earth Model. The Bible is Truth and your argument once again is faulty and unrelated to what we are discussing.

So what does the Bible say about the earth; if it is not moving or if it is?

It's not a very complicated question.

Ok, lets go back to the caveman mentality you seem to operate from.

The Bible equates both the moon and the sun as the same type of light source, does it not? I mean Revelation says both the sun and the moon are going to go out, right? Do you believe the moon generates light?

Yes I believe the moon generates its own light and that in the end times both the sun and moon will be put out. Indeed I agree with you the Bible does say that.

So are you saying the bible is a science book?

Now the point that the greatest speed difference between the part that moves at speed and the part that is still is the point where the greatest friction is likely to be.

friction from the atmosphere rubbing against what, exactly?

seems like you're thinking of this as though the earth is a ball spinning in a still pool of water. but it's not in a vat of water or other medium to cause friction - it's in space. "
He hangs the earth on nothing"

Then how is it capable of only "turning on" increasing or decreasing portions of its surface as each 28 day cycle passes? And why can't the sun manage this?

You clearly have a mind that seems only able to comprehend thousands of years old explanations.

Just curious.... what do you do for a living..... either of you?

Well, your helo jockey will also know about not flying direct magnetic headings due to the shifting magnetic fields across the world, and even the country........ and the Coriolis effect (I'm sure I spelled that wrong. LOL)
Coriolis is a brand of beer from Mexico is it not? Yes, when consumed in large quantities it will certainly seem like the Earth is spinning.

pckts,

In a PM to me, you just said I criticized your faith. Actually, I intended to point out to you, your lack of faith. You seem to feel that God did not give us the ability to learn about the world around us, and to grow in knowledge beyond merely some words found in a copy of part of the Scriptures called The Bible.

Even Paul, when he spoke at Mars Hill, demonstrated his understanding and grasp of the vast scope of the secular literature of the Greeks. And he was, thus, able to converse with them in a manner that would not have been possible if all he knew was a limited repertoire of Jewish Scripture.

God never intended for us to "hole-up" in some backwoods-focused fundamentalist huddle of isolated believers, quoting antiquated laws to one another out of a black book, in a vain attempt to prove our spirituality to one another.

Willie,

YOU are the one that lacks faith. You trust outside sources more than the Bible, and tell others they lack faith for taking The Bible literally. You are severely misguided and confused. Explain how one that takes The Bible literally lacks faith? Not that you answer questions anyway, and I got a good laugh and a second stomach turn hearing you speak of what God's intentions are.

Here is everything I said in the PM you reference:

First you criticize my faith, then you ignore all the questions poised to you while continuing to ask your own, now you are really showing how pathetic you are asking people what they do to survive in an attempt to discredit their opinions.

I graduated high school, joined the military, and now I go to a state college on my GI Bill.

You are a very weak man, and I won't be engaging you hear or anywhere because your weak spine and small mind turns my stomach.

Fantasy is fun to believe in. I think the flat earthers just like the entertainment value contained in the fiction of it all.

You believe in fantasy because it is what you were taught in school, and now you want to fit in with everyone.

On the face of it. A conspiracy of this magnitude is impossible.

pckts,
You said you were in the Military. Did you ever travel anywhere? Are you aware that, if you did so travel, the transportation you used — and how to make the steel, glass, and aluminum it was constructed of....... not to mention the fuel that powered it, is mentioned nowhere in the Bible?

It is bordering upon insanity to believe all we ever need to know is contained within the pages of that little book.

Why are you attending a college? From what you said, you don't need it a bit. You could just stay home, reading your Bible. Don't you sense even a little bit of the hypocrisy you espouse?

You only think it's impossible because you are making an assumption based on the face (surface) of it.

Once you learn the moon landing was faked, ISS too, then your assumptions will be proven wrong and your mind will be allowed to go deeper. But you don't want to go deeper because you would have to leave your k-12 education(and whatever else afterwards) and then you will have fringe beliefs you are uncomfortable discussing at the water cooler.

Uh............ I'm pretty sure I never saw a Water Cooler mentioned in the Bible. Why do you know about this evil thing?
