My buddy who served in Afghanistan actually had a valid point. Hypothetically if we forced people to stand for the anthem then what exactly were they fighting for?
Nobody can force anybody to do the right thing and no one is saying that people should be forced. And when morons choose to do the wrong thing there are consequences.....like in this case.....the prospect of a career that is over.

Thank your buddy for his service for me. The next time I stand for the anthem, he will be one of many in my thoughts.

And it doesn't bother you that Colin thinks your buddies sacrifice is worthless? Your buddy doesn't mean anything to you?

Can you give us his name? The least we could do is give him some respect rather than the disdain and disrespect Colin showed for him.

I think this "buddy" is a made up appeal to authority. And for the record....just because someone served in the military doesn't automatically make them some kind of hero or authority on heroism. Bo Bergdahl...... John McCain.

I sure hope that he fades away to obscurity. He pretty much has already.

The slime ball will probably fake patriotism to get his pacifier again though.

LOL! Probably! Or he'll have to buck up and spend some of that "hard earned money" on a homeless shelter or something. Which wouldn't be all bad I guess. Maybe like Michael Vick he will see the error in massaging his giant ego.

don't cosign to lies or can go on ignore too.
I have immediate family that have sacrificed a LOT for this country. So I can lose my cool and am passionate when it comes to someone disrespecting them.

Your buddy, doesn't fit the mold of service men's mentality. Your buddy would get the sock and bar of soap treatment.

Your buddy SEEMS fabricated, based upon the fact that he is WAY out of the norm when compared to other service men.

But anyway, you can put me on ignore. I could get in trouble if you and I keep it up on this subject.

One served Iraq and the other served in Afghanistan.
The one who served in Afghanistan is a devout atheist
The one who served in Iraq follow some type of Native American religion

you can put me on ignore. I think you made all that up because of what wasblind said.... your "buddy" is way outside the norm for service men. And besides you already said you live in an apt building with a gay couple as neighbors in a rural area. I already thought you were talking out your hind end anyway. Lol

I can provide a link if you're interested but there are videos on YouTube in which African American veterans Express sentiment set they did not serve their country in order for law enforcement to continue to brutalize their fellow African-Americans, also the second verse of the national anthem talks about murdering slaves. Also I believe somega religious objections because they feel like it's idolatry.

Go ahead lets see your link to your ex serviceman/trooper/atheist friend who lives in an apt building in a rural area next to a gay vegetarian couple who doesn't like the star spangled banner. And I'm gonna go ask the local zoo's monkeys uncle about the second verse of the national anthem real quick. Hold on.
