Nope, still don't like your imagery G777.

I understand what you are trying to say, but I prefer the concept of putting to death deeds of the flesh and tearing down strongholds. Its more active and specific than saying "put on the mind of Christ" which can be easily misunderstood.

All born-again Christians are pure in heart.
This is the sinless perfection problem, why do people not experience this and get
convicted all the time as to their failure and sin? It is like going round a wheel.
Either it is ok to know you are a sinner because you are safe in Christ or you
are perfect, you just have to actually realise it.

This is dualism, playing both sides at the same time, lol.

Peterjens, you can't even represent clearly what you believe.

Save yourself the time of falsely misrepresenting others beliefs.

I agree to putting to death the deeds of the body and of the tearing down strongholds that are in the mind.

My question would be - How do we put to death the deeds of the body? And what are these "strongholds of the mind"?

We walk by the spirit and then we will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. This is how we put to death the deeds of the body. Religion gets this backwards - they say "Stop doing the works of the flesh and you'll be walking by the spirit."

The real question should be : What is walking by the spirit? What are your thoughts on this?

anyways i dont know what all the fuss is about in this thread do you billy ?
There is obviously a fuss about it cause a lot fussing is going on.

Problem is all we see are words and can only interpret words.
Me thinks if we were all sat around a table discussing it would be a lot more cordial.

We we see facial expressions.

I think the problem can arise where by we can say stuff, get angry, say harsh words that maybe we wouldn't say if sat around a table.

Focusing on what God wants us to do is better than focusing on temptations and not sinning.

One of the things God wants us to do is tear down spiritual strongholds, when we are convicted of our sins we accept responsibility and repent. Then God puts us on solid ground and shows us how we are to walk with Him empowered by His Holy Spirit.

1. Always is a long time and not true because in one day we will get new bodies.

What do you mean "sin orignate from the flesh"?

Jesus had human flesh/body but no sin.
might be another one of those christiany words,, Flesh simply means the old nature, or the self will. Not the physical body..

I am saying God is not doing this, I am saying Hebrews is suggesting they never get to
repentance, because the Lord will not work with them in this way.

If you feel repentance and desire to resolve things with God, you have not reached this
state.

then why did you say, People will repent, and God will not open the door (reject them?

And we should kill that or admit it is already dead and cut it out of our being like a tumor taking nutrients from the rest of our bodies.

All this proves is you still have no idea what Grace is talking about or believes. He has never said one word about sinless perfect.. Except to judge people who preach it as false teachers..

Again, this is what get you into trouble.. You never try to actually figure out what someone believes.

Serving others, even our enemies (law of love) And not serving self (flesh, or love of self)

Yes, Yet at the same time, we should never think it is crucified completely and we have "made it" like the religious do. and be like paul and realise even after we have crucified it, It seems to wake up from all the time and get us into trouble.. (that and satan leading us to temptation)

when he says so and so believes this, He better come with facts, not just expressing himself.. He can express his ownn ideas of what he believes all he wants, But when he talks about another's belief, and does this, it is called slander uless he gets his facts straight.

Funny how people so keen to condemn the Pharisees for their belief in being righteous
and chosen, yet the same people are certain they will be in heaven and God has zero
issues with them. Is this not a version of exactly the same thing???
Thats why we all need to ensure that we are not like the Pharisees.

Jesus has harsh words for them.

Before pronouncing the woes, Jesus told His listeners to respect the scribes and Pharisees due to their position of authority but not to emulate them, “for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them. Everything they do is done for people to see

Then we see

Matthew 23:13-29

“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.

“Woe to you, blind guides, who say, ‘Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obliged to perform it.’ Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that sanctifies the gold? And, “Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift that is on it, he is obliged to perform it.’ Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift? Therefore he who swears by the altar, swears by it and by all things on it. He who swears by the temple, swears by it and by Him who dwells in it. And he who swears by heaven, swears by the throne of God and by Him who sits on it.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous,

The problem was

The Pharisees would not live up to what they taught. They were so overly concerned with the externals that they neglected the "weightier matters of the law" and the simple truths about man and God. When their own Messiah had appeared in Israel they were so blinded by their observances and the minute details that they completely missed Him.

Isaiah 29:13

Therefore the Lord said:
“Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths
And honor Me with their lips,
But have removed their hearts far from Me,
And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,

The scribes and Pharisees were supposed to know God and help others know Him and follow His ways. Instead, the religious leaders added to God’s Law, making it a cumbersome and onerous burden.

And they did not follow God with a pure heart. Their religion was not true worship of God; rather, it was rooted in a prideful heart. Jesus’
Sermon on the Mount emphasizes the true intent of the Law over the letter of the Law. The scribes and Pharisees emphasized the letter, completely missing its spirit.

Jesus may We by like you to each other and those you have given us.

when you ask us to build in others may we build on the rock, which is you.
May we teach the true foundation which is you.
And I pray we ourselves build each other up with love, wisdom and sacrifice.

Jesus and little bitsy babies.

Jesus is sinless and babies are found blameless.
I agree - babies are not innocent,. They too are born into Sinful nature today due to Adam's moral choices, but because they are not yet at the age of accountability, God graces them with His forgiveness. For Adam sinned knowingly.....after being under the rule of Sin. Children do not know of their intentions at a certain age. So, yes AMEN!

Took me a while to find this post...

I numbered the questions and statements so could answer or comment with having to do the "quotes"

1. Yes our newly resurrected bodies will not have sickness or age when Jesus comes back and makes the New Heaven and New Earth.
That sounds so good,, but what i cant figure is why should the new body be diffrent. (I have never Got this despite of all the theories. ?.

2. The Seed can't be corrupted. Our spirits remain pure because out soul/spirit is from God but our minds and bodies can be tempted to sin, this can be corrupted by our interactions with this corrupt world.
I understand that the seed inside you cant be tainted,,,, and the seed being the spirit... What i have a hard time with is understanding that the spirit inside us can not stop our own soul from sinning..... It is written that soul that sins is the soul that dies,, This is not a statement ment for one person,,, this to me is ment for everyone..

So spirit who is Jesus can win the battle daily and never sin.. but yet the same spirit in us can not...Jeuses body was no diffrent to yours or mine..

3. Some battles are won, some are lost but the war was won by Jesus upon the cross. We won by listening and following the Holy Spirit.
I understand that Jesus takes away the conviction and burden of sin.. And i understand he fights for us daily... However manytimes i switch off through out the day and this is when im out od sorts.... coz i know the enemy can sneak in an attack which is does all tho today as been a good day so far.... no attacks upto now... But surely the spirit should be a shield like a barrier around your Body..

How come we are attacked in the frst place... My theorie is bad spirit has the power to break through when we are absent minded or not with it or asleep.....at which point even the the holy spirit cant break through whilst your cursing...

4. You kind of answer this question with your statement 5. You get attack because you aren't keeping watch and guarding your heart. When I write to people, I am not trying to tell folks anything "new", just trying to remind them what they already know because God told them the same in the Bible.
Sure i get that thanks for your explanation.. ill remember that in future... But for some scripture as you know is meat and some milk... i thinks it important to know when to give either...certainly getting to know someone first befor dishing out meat is a good idea..

I don't see anyone on this forum as my "enemy" but I do see some as being enslaved to false doctrines and lies that war against the knowledge of God.
yeah sad i know but why should that bother us if where walking in the spirt.

Why do bad doctrins exist.

I could write a book on the possibilities ,,, my answer is there are so many bad doctrins coz everyone including you thinks they have it all worked out including me. lol.. But now i look above this mentality with an open heart open to interpratation.. and understanding of anothers belief... I will from now on try to be this way..

The other day i was confronted with a pakistani lady face to face who told me Jesus was a profit only and he will come back as the messiah.. but God does not have children so Jesus being the son of God is false... i was tollerant with her just looked her in the eye and she knew instantly i didnt agree a moment later she also still carried on to look at me coz i was showing her kindness with out speaking....we never became enemies and that was that...end of story..

5. I agree. We should keep watch and pray. However, we can also trust God to keep watch and guard us so that we can rest at times too.
That a good idea and well inspired :)

6. Yeah I also agree that Satan doesn't follow God's orders as some people falsely teach. The Bible says we are not tempted of God but our own flesh leads us astray. Yet some folks still want to blame God,instead of take personal responsibility and repent.
Blaming God is rebellion to.. and not just satanism... How ever undersdtanding of this field can also be mourning a loved one you have lost coz you dont understand why it happened.

So your reaction would be to blame God coz hes supposed to protect you...and you dont understan why or how you could recieve so much harm in another situation... My guess is God is still there at this point...which doesnt give a free liscence to sin but rather a battle that must be won... i see it as lost and in need to be refound and recieving salvation of the soul once more...

7. I believe the Bible says forgive as you have been forgiven. Bless because you have been blessed. God doesn't say to do things in order to receive but because we have already been given love by the grace of God. We should give others grace also even if we don't think they deserve it, even if we never see any earthly blessings.
Yes given by the grace of god... and like saying saved by the grace of God and not we are saved by grace alone..

God does not say for us to work to be paid. So we dont bless in order to receive blessings...that sound too much like the false prosperity gospel many people have become enslaved in and makes people think God "owes" them something for their "good" works.
38Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.” 39Jesus also told them a parable: “Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit?…

This the word of jesus saying do a good works and i will give you one back...

God doesn't owe us anything. We need to,be,more humble and thankful for,the blessings He has already given.

7. We may call a work "good" but God looks at a person's heart. Does that person do it for power or personal recognition?

Then it's not "good" but done out of selfish motives.

Good works are only good when done by a person whose heart, has been cleaned by God, because they do the work to glorify God.
selfish ambition maybe but by no means something we should hate someone for if you feel that someone is posting for a selfish ambition.. then you can test the spirit. i think we need time to think on this... on how e test and how we react... where as me not being perfect would react strasight away,,, i guess i have a hard time taming the tounge too too..

Therefore it would be better to say good people will do good works, but the person is made good by the Blood of the Lamb and the leading of the Holy Spirit that allows them to confidently say they are children of the most High God

Ps. Thanks for your reply to my question. You will be the first person I meet who attends an Anglican Catholic church.
Thank yeah sure why not ill send you an invite when we have another gathering of all the world great spiritual christians from arount hte world... You could even like it...

Yes God plays a part in our Good works but it is written that we must perform to verry important works to let Jesus know we are truly his...

Which is honer and obey (works) which if you do that daily you can be rest assured that your soul is continueing to recieve your daily salvation rescue...God bless you sister..
