Please explain the difference between selection and election.
Election is biblical, Selection is new to me.
Why don't you explain what you believe election is?

Someone said selection on another thread and said God choose people based on some quality like obedience. Instead of elect whom He willed for His purpose and made them clean and able to serve His purpose for their lives.

God doesn't toss His adopted children on the street. Being sealed by the Holy Spirit is more than a King's was seal on paper.

Wow, never knew so many people were against the idea of being born again, adopted into God's family and sealed with His Holy Spirit...I always thought that basic doctrine.

This was a general statement, regardless of who He was speaking to.
The question originally was about how could anyone get saved who doesn't know about Jesus.

You posted Mathew 7:13-14, the narrow gate and the wide gate.

I asked you TO WHOM IS JESUS SPEAKING?

And you reply that it is a general statement.

Was it?

Jesus was speaking to Jewish people. THEY KNEW ABOUT JESUS.

Not everyone in the world knows about Jesus.

SO.... IF the Jews knew about Jesus and went in through the wide gate, they would be lost.

Have you read Mathew 22:1-14?

Anyway, I'd say that once one is born again, God does not toss Him our, but one could certainly decide to be tossed out.

Why can't you be bothered to post verses or do your own exegesis?

14For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them 16on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus.

****

Everyone is given the moral law in,that hearts and have the free will to choose good or,evil....but most because, they are like their father Adam, choose to be selfish and disobey God. Therefore will stand condemned on judgement day unless they hear the gospel because the Law of sin and death condemns them.
Very good.

So do you still say that if someone has never heard of Jesus they are going to hell?

And the reason I ask questions is because you should never take my word for anything, but come to the conclusion on your own.

Yes...their hearts will reveal that they are sinners.

Also before judgement day the gospel will be preached to all people in all nations.be it by human or angelic means, only God knows.

so you're saying that Matthew 713-14 only applies to Jews who have heard about Jesus and the rest of the world is exempt?

Revelation 14:6
And I saw another angel flying in midheaven, having an eternal gospel to preach to those who live on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people;

True.
God knows your heart, so He wouldn't even listen to you.
That's how much He loves us.
This is where many go wrong because Jesus listens to the heart and then knows it..

for it is written the sheep know my voice and i know theres...:)

Wow. A real theologian that one is.

I have to leave now.

1. There's no such thing as selection.
2. I did explain here about election and predestination.
Just quick: basically there's no suchs thing.

Just remember John 3.16 when you have a doubt or hear weird stuff:

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD
THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON
THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM
SHOULD NOT PERISH
BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.

Does God love us?
Does He only love SOME people or everyone?
What did He do to prove it?
WHO can believe in Jesus? Everyone or just a select few?
