The strange thing about this post is it is not addressing the points I am making.
I get the feeling people are more concerned with their theology and their points than real life and relationships.
Words like standing on the Rock, propiatation, imputed righteousness, eternal life, security in Christ, justification, sanctification, true saving faith, grace as unmerited favor from God, atonement, chastenment, perservance of the saints seem to be out of peoples dictionary.
You make a good point. But let me deal with the first idea, standing on the Rock.
The rock is the foundation of repentance, sorrow for sin, a commitment to walk righteously, and
forgiveness of sins through the cross. Now even here people will argue what this means.
Atonementment - Jesus the eternal atoning sacrifice that is for the sins of all the people of God,
again some claim it is for the sins of the whole world or even existance itself, past, present and future.
So it is hard to talk about such subjects when the participants express such strong emotion, and
accuse people of being evil, rather than humble sinners trying to understand the wisdom of God, and
respecting different perspectives.
So I go back to a simple idea of knowing someone, loving them and listening to them, because here I
would hope we can actually agree. It is where I would start in witnessing about Jesus's love in my
heart and how he changed me.
But then some did say in the past I was not changed by God or love, which to be honest is not very
charitable. And these people claim to know the living God, which for me is extraordinary for such ideas
and sentiments some put forward as if they have spiritual authority and insight.
