Lord let my Heart be true and not bring dissension, Let your Spirit, your Word, your Truth speak to the Heart of all involved.
Wasn't the King James translation by men? How do we know that the Spirit was in them and not in those who translate the other translations? I know there are multiple translations of the King James itself. I personally preach from a NKJV study bible and I still get beaten against by KJV only people. I have gotten the "lesson" that God translates down through KJV. I say lets all learn Greek and Hebrew and study to show ourselves workman approved. Another thing to think about is who is in control? God or Man? Man corrupts both using KJV and NIV. Why do so many cults use the KJV? Another point to think about? How does this edify the body, How does this edify God?
What will be held accountable to? Our faith in Jesus Christ (the whole depart from me for I never knew you found in Matt.), (Romans 10:,9,10 about believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth)(Galations 5:22 What fruits are you producing?)
I know that I read from the Bible. It is God's Holy word. I study it in multiple translations, I read what the true authorities on greek and hebrew speak in regards to the original words. I know rightly so that chapters and verses where not in the original text but were added to assist in finding scripture. I know that we are to rightly divide the word of God (as Paul taught to timothy). Before we bash each other over the translations, errors, and such make sure we are on the right page. I have seen some use KJV to "direct" people of the church to only wear suits in church (women to wear dresses) and to my understanding this was not original apparel fasion in Jesus day. I read from KJV, NKJV, and other multiple translations (I use biblegateway website for the translations I do not personally have in my possession or on my computer cd's) But if we want to be legalistic over all, Lets all go back to Greek and Hebrew on scrolls.
Lets look at 2 Tim. 2:14
Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. (KJV)
Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them in the sight of the Lord, that they strive not about words, to no profit, to the subverting of them that hear. (ASV)
Keep reminding them of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen.(NIV)
Remind them of these things, and charge them before God not to quarrel about words, which does no good, but only ruins the hearers. (ESV)
If you continue reading in these translations it also says to rightly handle the Word of God. I ask you to pray and read the whole chapter, in fact Just read 2 Timothy and see what God speaks to you.
